Brian Clark is joined by fellow US Open Radio commentator Mike Cation to look back over an event-filled first week of the final Grand Slam of the year. As well as plenty of talking points, we also hear from American tennis player, Frances Tiafoe and rising South African star, Lloyd Harris.

Recorded as qualifying was coming to an end, US Open Radio commentator Brian Clark sat down with former player, Jill Craybas to preview the 2021 US Open. Along the way they make their tournament picks, ruminate on who will be the breakthrough star and discuss whether Novak Djokovic can complete an historic calendar slam. As well as the discussion, we also hear interviews with Aslan Karatsev and American players Reilly Opelka and Sebastien Korda, courtesy of reporters Paul King and Mike Cation.

Along the way we hear from the likes of Washington finalist Jannik Sinner, Tokyo Olympic hero, Kei Nishikori and former Citi Open winner, Nick Kyrgios, whilst Miami Open Tournament Director James Blake gives his perspective of what it's like to run a Masters 1000 event in a pandemic.

With the Olympics in Tokyo officially underway, we turn our attention to the tennis event and discuss who’s in the running for Gold, Silver and Bronze. We also hear from a man with two Gold Medals, Chile’s Nicolas Massu and from young player Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who takes his place in the Spanish team, but we start by getting the perspective of freelance tennis journalist, Reem Abulleil who’s a columnist for UAE’s ’The National’ newspaper during the Olympics, along with her work for Saudi Arabia’s Arab News. Chris Bowers is joined by New York Times tennis correspondent, Christopher Clarey to look back over the past two weeks at Wimbledon. They talk Novak Djokovic’s charge to glory as well as looking at what's next for Roger Federer and Andy Murray and talk about some of the younger players who’ve made their mark. We also hear from leading Serbian journalist and commentator, Nebojsa Viskovic and look back 50 years when American player Stan Smith lost a Wimbledon final, before winning one a year later.
