The UFC has decided to start running shows on May 9th and a lot of people are wondering, why the rush? Today I answer that question by focusing on the business side of things. While I could certainly talk in long-form about whether it is right or wrong for the UFC to hold shows so soon, I try not to do much more than touch on that point of view on this episode. My main focus today is explaining why the UFC as a business NEEDS to run shows as soon as possible.

AEW once again gave us a great show. They moved storylines forward and gave us their first world champion. There's been a lot of talk about who won the main event and why they might not have been the right choice for a new promotion. Today I'll talk about why the winner is exactly who they need to be the first to hold their most prestigious title and what that means for them moving forward.

Wow! What a main card and what a main event! That UFC PPV delivered way more than expected. Coming out of SummerSlam Seth Rollins is being set up to be the No. 1 guy in WWE. Having the opportunity to defeat Brock Lesnar, clean in the middle of the ring. However I don't believe it is his time to carry the load. In his most recent title reign we saw that ratings were down to some of the lowest points ever, show attendance was lower than it's ever been and this was all happening when Seth Rollins was on fire and had full fan support. In this title reign there are some key differences...

Why is this fight happening? Let's talk about it. UFC 241 has a main event that is sure to deliver! With Daniel "DC" Cormier rematching the man with the most consecutive title defenses in the UFC's HW Division we, the fans, are the winners. This fight is bound to deliver, but was it really the right move to give Stipe the rematch, considering how he was defeated in their previous encounter? I'll be giving my thoughts on that and more on this episode of The Guy Blog Podcast!

Dana White says the UFC is out of the Cyborg business and I go over why. Why would the UFC be out of the business of promoting one of the Top 3 Female MMA Fighters in the world? Because the UFC is apparently a bit sensitive and isn't in the business of working with fighters that can at times be a little difficult to work with... Let's talk about the real reason we now have this situation.

Colby Covington has firmly placed himself as a top 3 welterweight following consecutive defeats of Demian Maia, Rafael dos Anjos and now, Lawler. Love him or hate him, he deserves your respect. If you don't think so, then listen to this episode as I go through my reasoning as to why Colby deserves to be in the title picture and should be the next opponent for Kamaru Usman.

The UFC and USADA made a bold move in standing behind Jon Jones and moving an entire event just to save one fight. The consequences of their decision regarding the picograms of banned metabolites found in his system can have an effect on the credibility of the organization moving forward.  Lets talk MMA.

Anthony Joshua, via his manager/promoter Eddie Hearn, has pulled out of the Deontay Wilder fight and decided to take sign on to fight a different opponent. This is extremely frustrating, disappointing and sadly expected from a sport that has a hard time making us, the fans, believe that it is on the level. From signs of corrupt judging to selective matchmaking, it too often seems like the fix is in for one markee fighter over the other.

Big Cass got a little too big for his bridges and has been released by the WWE. In this episode, I talk about what caused this situation and what is going to come from it. Big Cass still has plenty of potential and is young enough to create a brand new reputation in the indies and be welcomed back with open arms to WWE in 4 or 5 years.  Alright, lets talk wrestling!

Deadpool 2 is the sequel we've all been waiting for since the original Deadpool movie came out, but is it worth going to a movie theater to watch it? That's what I'll be talking about today!
