The Sufferfest Podcast: Everybody Hurts The 2017 Tour of Sufferlandria took place Feb 4-12. Many amazing stories came out of this year's Tour, but we're going to focus on three in particular: 1) Ethan Perlyn, an 8-year old from Miami, Florida, is the youngest person to ever complete the Tour. He also became the most prolific fundraiser, raising over $11,000 for the Davis Phinney Foundation. 2) Carol Bassett, an active member of the Sufferlandrian community, injured her shoulder shortly before the Tour. Despite being in a sling, Carol decided to ride anyway. Calling herself the One-Armed Bandit, Carol posted daily videos of herself completing the stages with her arm in a sling. 3) Simon Andrew is not only a Sufferlandrian, but an avid Medieval re-enactor. He decided to add an addition element to this year's Tour, completing each stage in full Medieval plate armour. His daily videos, where he tied each stage to a particular battle in the 100-Years War, showed that you don't have to be a knight to do the seemingly impossible.
