To celebrate Arrow Video's Limited Edition release of CARRIE, Sam and Dan go to the Prom this week to look at the 1976 film that truly marked the arrival of Brian de Palma as a major director, plus gave Sissy Spacek her first Oscar nomination. Other recommended films include THE FURY (1978), FIRESTARTER (1984) and VALERIE AND HER WEEK OF WONDERS (1970), whilst Sam and Dan also chat about films they've seen recently including THE DEVIL RIDES OUT (1968), STRAIGHT TIME (1978) and Bernard Rose's FRANKENSTEIN (2015).
"She's the Godmother of them all!" - this week Sam and Dan take on Jack Hill's iconic COFFY, starring the legendary Pam Grier. Our hosts also discuss similarly-themed films such as FOXY BROWN, BONE (with Yaphet Kotto)and TRUCK TURNER (with Isaac Hayes), and also chat about films they've seen recently including upcoming release THE DISASTER ARTIST and genre classics such as BURIAL GROUND and THE OUTFIT.
To celebrate Arrow's recent release of the Limited Edition boxset GEORGE ROMERO BETWEEN NIGHT AND DAY, this week Sam and Dan turn their attention to one of Romero's underrated films, SEASON OF THE WITCH from 1972, which is included in the set along with THERE'S ALWAYS VANILLA (1971) and THE CRAZIES (1973). Other recommended films in this episode include HG Lewis' SOMETHING WEIRD, John Cassavetes' FACES and Michael Winner's THE SENTINEL, whilst Sam and Dan also discuss recent films they've seen such as SEOUL STATION, Lucio Fulci's MURDER ROCK, Mohammed Shebl's FANGS and Satyajit Ray's PATHER PANCHALI.
Long Live the New Flesh! This week, Sam and Dan take a body horror look at one of David Cronenberg's most celebrated films - VIDEODROME! Films in this week's "If you liked that..." section include Brandon Cronenberg's ANTIVIRAL, THE FLY and TETSUO: THE IRON MAN, whilst Sam and Dan also recommend recent viewings such as COLOSSAL, THE TRANSFIGURATION and VIOLENT COP. The Ultimate in Alien Terror: John Carpenter's THE THING is this week's film as hosts Dan and Sam delve into Arrow Video's upcoming 4k restoration release of this seminal masterpiece from 1982. Dan and Sam's similarly-themed film recommendations including THE HATEFUL EIGHT, THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN, plus films they've seen recently such as TASTE OF FEAR, THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM and SPASMO, and an audio clip from the Q&A at the LFF screening of Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson's GHOST STORIES, starring Martin Freeman and Paul Whitehouse.

This week, Sam and Dan delve deeper into AUDITION as they look to get under the skin of Takashi Miike's masterpiece, whilst also recommeding similar-themes films such as BLUE'S HARP and WOMAN OF THE DUNES.
