Sammy and Julia chat with Pam Malter, director of Camp Canadensis, and her husband Dave Malter, who also works at camp, about what it's like to work with your spouse at camp, and also about the wonderful program at Camp Canadensis!

Sammy and Julia chat with Yam and Pie, creators of Camp Yampire, a weekend-long zoom camp for adults that occurs once a month! Because of Covid-19 and the resulting social distancing measures now in place, Yam and Pie saw an opportunity to help, and started an online summer camp for adults to attend through Zoom - every camp session is packed full of fun activities and games and lead by guest camp counselors - from dance parties to a live game of Clue, Camp Yampire is a great virtual space for people to connect and have some fun!

Julia and Sammy chatted with Naomi Greenfield, who created a Zoom camp that teaches kids about voting and civic engagement, and then sets them up to write campaign postcards to voters in swing states to encourage them to register to vote and/or request a mail-in ballot!

Scott Newman stuck around to talk to Sammy and Julia about some of his favorite traditions from Camp de los Ninos, and about some of the ways the camp has started to change the language around talking about diabetes.

Sammy and Julia chat with Scott Newman about his many summers at various diabetes camps, including Camp de los Ninos! We learned a lot about Type 1 diabetes and all the physical and emotional strength it takes to manage on a day to day basis, and why camp is a wonderful community for kids who are growing up and learning to manage their diabetes.

Rebecca recounts a story that was published in the book Camp Camp about her relationship with her first boyfriend, a 20-year-old university student from Amesbury, England, when she was a counselor at Camp Walden in Michigan. Julia and Sammy chat with Randall Klein, one of the staff members and stars of the upcoming new Bravo reality series "Camp Getaway" about her time at camp as a kid and her experience of working at Camp Getaway and filming for the show over the summer.

Sammy and Julia chat with journalist, author and camp counselor Iris Krasnow about her new book Camp Girls. We learned all about Iris' camp experience, how she ended up going back to work at camp 40 years after she left, and how camp made her a big strong girl and a big strong adult woman who can DEAL!

This week we are back with Bo Cown to talk about his time at Future Farmers of America Camp! We talked about the kinds skills Bo learned at FFA camp, like getting his gun license, cooking classes, and learning how to run an ethical and sustainable farm. And then Bo told us his famous Goat Story - overall a great mini episode!

During this time of social distancing, Julia, Sammy and Allison decided to stay connected by watching a new Netflix documentary called "Crip Camp." The movie is about a bunch of kids who met at Camp Jened, a camp for disabled teenagers, in the 60's and 70's who then went on to become the leaders of the activist movement fighting for rights for disabled people in the 70's and 80's. We loved this movie and learned so much about the Americans with Disabilities Act, and we encourage you to listen to this episode and then watch the movie!
