Podcast X: We'll all take a bow (including the cow) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 10 (9.6 mb) Recorded in the courtyard between two big buildings between 49th and 50th Streets (and btwn Eighth and Ninth Ave). That annoying windy noise is not me blowing into the mic but a breeze blowing through. I talk about the time step, rewrites, readings, theatre rentals, A new Tony category, Disney's new broadway musical, and actors I've worked with. Yah.

Podcast XI: I think she's got it! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 9 (9 mb) Recorded while driving home from Menlo Park Mall in Edison, NJ. :) The New York Music Theatre Festival: http://www.nymf.org Ok, back to work.

Podcast VIII: Turn Back, O Man | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 8 (10.1 mb) Another recording from Central Park. I talk about doing pullbacks, seeing Two Gentlemen of Verona at the Delacorte Theatre, theatre season subscriptions, Michael Ball in The Woman in White, LaChanze in The Color Purple. At two points in the podcast, a breeze starts blowing and wreaks all sorts of havok on the sound quality. Heh. Sorry about that. Cheers!

Podcast VII: You're the biggest blame fool in the jungle of Nool! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 7 (9.2 mb) In case you're wondering, the title is a lyric from whatever is playing in iTunes at the moments. :) In this podcast, I talk about Hurricane Katrina, dance class, show closings, trying to put on a show in NYC, the American Theatre Wing podcast, theatre into film. Ok... I really need to stop spitting into the mic. I don't realize I'm doing it until I listen to it afterwards... sorry all for the assault to your ears.

Podcast VI: I'm flying high, defining gravity... | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 6 (10 mb) Gravity :) This one was recorded yesterday in my car. But I'm only getting to post it now because I'm a dork and because Audacity is caca. http://silencethemusical.com/nyc Saw the show... it's hilarious! Lots of fun... I'll talk about it in the next podcast. In meantime, check out the downloadable songs on the website. Fun fun.

Podcast V: Sure of my lines, no-one is there | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 5 (4.3 mb) Recorded yesterday sitting on a rock in Central Park. So... yeah... I did end up going to that show. :)

Podcast IV: Trapped in my car! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 4 (7.1 mb) Recording this podcast in my car parked on a street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in the middle of a torrential rainstorm. I'm ok now. :) I'm home safe. Saw the show and afterwards had some really awesome pork dumplings at this hole-in-the-wall Chinese takeout place. 10 dumplings for just $2! OMG! Well, I was in Chinatown, so I guess it's not too much of a surprise... anyway :) The BroadwayStars.com website: www.broadwaystars.com Oh yeah... Chad Kimball's clothing line (actually, just a bunch of t-shirts): www.ogearclothing.com/ I really need to stop breathing into the mic...

Welcome! First Podcast (and it shows!) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 1 Welcome, everyone, to my podcast. I've never done any of this sort of thing before and, as you will see from hearing the podcast, that I'm not the most articulate person in the world (haha), but whatever. I suck at improv. :) Anyhow, as promised, here are some urls mentioned in the podcast: The Summer Play Festival Website: http://www.spfnyc.com The Midtown Festival Website: http://www.midtownfestival.org Apathy: The Gen-X Musical Website: http://www.apathythemusical.com Grieving for Genevieve Website: http://www.enavantplaywrights.org Oberon Theatre Company (Feasting on Cardigans) Website: http://www.oberontheatre.org Spit It Out! Website: http://www.twosidesofacoin.com The New York Fringe Festival Website: http://www.fringenyc.org Finally, here is the email with which you can tell me not to quit my day job: (that's a joke) jonsnytheatrediary@gmail.com I'd post the url of the blog where you can view the show notes, but, duh, you're on it right now. :) Enjoy!

Second Podcast! Woo! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 2 So I recorded this while driving to Barnes & Noble, so you'll hear the car in the background, but it isn't too bad. Woo! I'm now listed in iTunes, Podcastalley, and Podcasts.net. I submitted the Podcast to iTunes in the evening and I was totally shocked when iTunes listed me the morning! I had heard horror stories of people having to wait 2-3 weeks, so I kind of expected it to take that long (and hoping that by then, I'll have about 2-3 episodes too, so that first podcast won't be your first impression, ha!). Anyways, in this podcast, I talk about seeing Glengarry Glen Ross on Broadway. Enjoy!

Third Podcast! From Madison Square Park | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Jonathan's NY Theatre Diary Podcast 3 (9.8 mb) Recording from lovely Madison Square Park in Manhattan on Broadway between 23rd and 26th. Links mentioned in the podcast: New York Fringe Festival: www.nyfringe.org It's PHUC TAP! www.eileenfogarty.com The Great God Money www.messengertheatreco.org SILENCE! the Musical www.silencethemusical.com Legend of the Gypsy Bride www.sacredclowns.com PATTY CAKE www.pattycakefringe.com Surviving David www.survivingdavid.com Joseph Papp Public Theatre Website www.publictheater.org Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, South Park) vs. Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Marie Christine) So first LaChiusa writes an article for the newsletter of the Metropolitan Opera ("the Met") about the "death" of Musical Theatre. Shaiman then posts a very bitchy rebuttal on Talkin' Broadway (which unfortunately is no longer available as posts expire after a few days), which then spawns a hilarious thread with all the other forumers joining in. I didn't mention it in the podcast because I just got this link now, but this big hubbub even caught the attention of the New York Times (free subscription required) and Variety (paid subscription required).
