I'm a bit clearer-headed this episode, and talk about all those times you can say "the book is done!" (There are several times you can say that.) Punchline- today I got another edit pass on my novella sent to me. >_< Again, no twitch stream this week (week of Sept. 20).
Well, of a sort. I had a hell of a few weeks and was essentially brain dead and struggling today. I announce a week off of streaming and try to talk about the new narrative game I'm playing on my stream. I'm also working on more transcriptions. By the end of this week I should have this season's episodes 1-10 done. Again, no twitch stream this week.
Using food, clothing, religion, and other everyday details can give your story authenticity, but if it's something that you're not familiar with, do some research. Don't forget to join us live on Twitch, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2pm Eastern!
Well the kid was driven to school and I was exhausted, so the audience helped me out with topics. A whole feedback show if you will. Don't forget to join us live on Twitch, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2pm Eastern!
We take a nugget of an idea and play with it until we come up with a plot for a romcom, a horror story, fantasy, and other genres. Remember you can join in live on Twitch, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2pm eastern! twitch.tv/mightymur
It gets close to kill your darlings, but if you've been working on a book for years and years, you might want to try a fresh story. No one says you have to abandon it.
It's hard to deal with too many ideas, but I have some thoughts. But also, for the luvva all that is decent, don't pay to publish your book. Just...don't.
It's...tiring and down-bringing to finish a project, but hey, I got it done!
This podcast will be heard and hopefully lessons will be learned. (But is there ever a time TO use passive voice? Of course there is!) I'm behind on posting these, so if there's a link I forgot, please let me know.
Keeping up with my "flossing" topics- what exactly does "Show, don't tell" mean? Is there a time when Telling is better than showing?
But here is the show where we talk about the seemingly simple question- where do you start?
The editors always ask for it, but what does it mean, and how do you get it?
Moving isn't the hard part: Getting moving is where things get tough. Let's talk about reducing choices. I'm back on Twitch, M, T, Th at 2pm, Wed. at 11am.
As a device-addicted person, please know this podcast is not from some high and mighty mountain, but somewhere right beside you in addicted-land. I got up this morning and put my tablet AND switch inside my lockbox. Too much to do, and I was ready to fart away the day on Fallout Shelter! Break from streaming until August 4, when I will announce new and exciting changes to my content!
So happy to have Tobias Buckell back to the show to talk about how careers aren't necessarily a straight line! Twitch news:Streams are canceled for the near future because I'm taking some time off for vacation and birthday and stuff. Back early August!
