The Batman Universe Taking Flight

  This is it! The moment that, back in 1990, Bat-fans were waiting for! Tim Drake becomes Robin! The fourteenth episode of "Taking Flight" takes a look at the "Identity Crisis" storyline from Batman #455-457 wherein someone is causing the citizens of Gotham to murder people and Tim has to save Batman from the villain, finally proving that he has what it takes to be the latest boy wonder.  

  The thirteenth episode of "Taking Flight" takes a look at the "Rite of Passage" storyline from Detective Comics #618-621 wherein Tim Drake's parents are kidnapped and he takes one of his last steps toward becoming the third Robin.  

  It's a very special Christmas episode of "Taking Flight" as I put aside all of the Dick Grayson/Jason Todd/Tim Drake drama and take a look at Teen Titans #13 from 1967 for a classic tale worthy of Charles Dickens himself ... or at least worthy of Bob Haney. So step into the wayback machine, cool cats, because it's "The TT's Swingin' Christmas Carol!"

  The seventh episode of "Taking Flight" takes a look at "A Death in the Family." Comics covered include Batman #426-429 and New Titans #52, and 55.  

  The sixth episode of "Taking Flight" takes a look at Jason Todd, both pre- and post-Crisis. We start with New Teen Titans (1984) #18-21 and then head over to Batman #408-411 and #416 to see his post-Crisis origin and his first meeting with Nightwing.  

  The fifth episode of "Taking Flight" looks at the stories immediately following "The Judas Contract" from Tales of the Teen Titans #45-47, and "The Trial of the Terminator" from Tales of the Teen Titans #53-55. Also included is a glance at "Secret Origins" #13, which features the final "pre-Crisis" version of the origin of Nightwing.  

  This time around? The Judas Contract. 'nuff said.  

  The third episode of "Taking Flight" takes a look at The New Teen Titans #26-34 and Annual #2; specifically, the "Runaways" story arc (with a look at its "epilogue" in Justice League Quarterly #17) and the storyline that created The Vigilante.  

  The second episode of "Taking Flight" looks at the career of Dick Grayson as Robin up until his tenure with the New Teen Titans, featuring stories from Batman #156, Detective Comics #500, DC Comics Presents #26, and the Legends of the DC Universe 80-page Giant!  

  The very first episode of a special podcast miniseries that follows the evolution of Dick Grayson from his origin through his career as Robin and Nightwing. Today we look at Robin's origin story as told in Detective Comics #38, Robin Annual #4, and the Robin: Year One miniseries.
