Even if you are not receiving royalties, the outcome of this case will affect you if you have the market enhancement clause in your lease. Segment 3 Doug talks extensively about an article written by Abram Lustgarten of propublica.org which details the practices Chesapeake has used to help themselves out of financial straits. This includes but is not limited to taking deductions from landowner’s royalty checks. This is an incredibly informative article that Attorney Clark believes all landowners should read, especially if you are involved in any form of an Oil and Gas Lease.
