Hey all!  Well the holidays are upon us again, and what better way to keep your mind off the mayhem than by sittin' down for a little R & R with the double R!  BT and CK have some reptile chatter to mix into your holiday batter, and they're really itchin' to share it with all of the hardcore loyal Reptile Radio listeners out there. So find a place to put us on and let us spend some time in your company. 

Most listeners to our show know that reptile breeder loans can be a dicey topic of discussion depending on whom you ask. My belief is that breeder loans between friends and associates can be mutually beneficial, but require a high tolerance for risk on the part of both parties involved. Clearly, sending a valuable animal across the country in the hopes that a lot of variables will go just right and produce a favorable outcome for both parties is not for the risk averse, or those with a weak constitution! One has to be able to eat some unfortunate news occasionally, and one needs to trust one's counterpart 100%. As it turns out, BT and CK are going to participate in exactly such an endeavor this upcoming season, and, they are going to document the progress right here on the show for our listeners. Good times on the way? Or a recipe for disaster? Time will tell! Tune in and find out how the two-letter-fellas end up when the summer 15 babies finally pip their eggs. Hello reptile radio fans! Happy to be on again to bring you guys the happenings and goings-on in today's reptile universe. Once again just BT and CK for this episode, as Tinley weekend approaches there's so much to do to get ready for it all. We'll hit on preparing for the trip to the North American version of our annual Reptile Mecca, and of course whatever else is hot and happening in the world of reptile keepers and keeping these days. Here at Reptile Radio we feel really connected with the listeners of our show. Regular fans of our program know that we've been plugging the Bush League Breeders Club annual Spring Scavenger Hunt for years now. As happenstance would have it, this year's Hunt winner is also a huge fan of "The Double R". This is the first year that the BLBC Contest Committee offered an appearance on the show as the crowned jewel of the grand prize package, so having this year's Hunt winner P.J. Kohn on the show is really sweet for everyone involved. CK hosts this episode with the herpin' zookeeper from the great state of Michigan, P.J. Kohn. He's the guy that put the 'BT' in the 'Larry and BT' show. Brian Taylor has returned from his hiatus, and he's brought his unique passion and energy with him. CK isn't hosting this one in the format that loyal fans of the show have grown accustomed to... no sir... we're going retro-style for this visit... just BT and CK and good ole' fashioned reptile talk. Ball Python enthusiasts all seem to dream a similar dream in which they fantasize about their favorite species to keep and breed. Many have confided in me about how thrilled they would be to someday be able to discover a cool new mutation by spontaneously producing one in his or her collections, truly the fabric of fantasy for most of us (as the odds of this actually happening to you aren't very high). Now imagine if someone you knew serendipitously accomplished such a feat, and gave you the opportunity to purchase the project. Would you jump at it? Enter Winston Smith of WHS Reptiles who believed that when such a chance presented itself it needed to be met with immediate action! Reptile Radio Host CK catches up with Mr. Smith to uncover the skinny about this new line of Scaleless Head BP's for the ever hungry ears of double R faithful. Are they the same as the BHB line? Will these incomplete dominant morphs produce the coveted Scaleless Ball in their super form? Winston seems to think so, and his first season of reproducing them makes a strong case for that being a fact. Tune in and find out.

So many Carpet python fans out there... and why not? Carpet pythons are beautiful small to mid-sized Australian pythons that are available in many vibrant color and pattern morphs. Though somewhat high strung when young, they generally tame down readily with frequent handling, and become very impressive specimens as adults. This week's guest, Jason Baylin, of East Coast Serpents is a dyed-in-the-wool Carpet fan who also happens to know a thing or two about breeding these beautiful beasts from down under. Herp fans around the world love American garter snake morphs, yet for some reason, most American hobbyists don't get juiced up when somone says "garter snake." Maybe the cosmopolitan distribution of this common genus here in The States makes the idea of an exciting garter snake seem so foreign to us jaded keepers living in the land of plenty. Reptile breeder Jeff Benfer is making it real hard for non-believers in the power of Thamnophis to continue to ignore this diverse genus. CK hosts this episode, with returning guest Mr. Benfer, to peek into the morphs that make some of the most beautiful snakes on the North American (or any) continent.
