Atlanta Author, R.L. Byrd returns with continued discussions of love and life in his newest release of Black Coffee, and this time the Brothers have their say. In his debut novel, Looking for Sweet Love, Byrd introduced us to the Love Forum Divas – a panel of women who candidly shared the highs and lows of their private relationships with millions of radio listeners in Dallas, Texas. Black Coffee enters one year later, introducing readers to six men – The Brothers Forum. As the men who held supporting roles in the women’s tales, their private lives were also exposed. “I want the reader to expect the unexpected from me; have a different experience every time they pick up an R.L. Byrd book,” says R.L. Byrd. With a raw and authentic voice, R.L. Byrd journeys into the male’s perspective of the challenges of love and life, unveiling truths to the great mystery of why men act and respond in ways that women are often unable to understand. Black Coffee brings the discussions of love and relationships full circle, and offers female readers a rare peak into the psyche of their male counterparts. It’s amazing to see people of our community, country, give back to their fellow citizens. Oladipo Olafunmiloye who is also known as Lafa is one man who deserves more than this recognition. Oladipo is a well known in the business of remodeling and construction. He has been successful in his lane and has decided to give back to his community. At his Gambrills Mansion, Oladipo has hosted small numbers of friends, family, employees and spent time at least two Saturday’s each month, feeding the needy. Oladipo has taken it further, he recently had an exclusive viewing for a project he was working on. A program that helps families in the no income to low income bracket. We were quite privileged to witness the great things that Oladipo has been set in this world to do. As we approached the Gambrills Mansion, we were directed and ushered in an orderly manner, given a small goodie bag & the opportunity to enjoy such a beautiful house. His project, “This Is Your American Dream™” is a reality-based television series that promotes volunteerism and provides free and clear homes to economically disadvantaged families and/or families who have loved ones with life-threatening illnesses or disabilities. The program focuses on those families/individuals that have never had a chance to own their own piece of “The American Dream”, perhaps as a result of their circumstances such as Breast Cancer, Autism, HIV /AIDS, Multiple Sclerosis, wounded veteran, homelessness etc. www.ashsaidit.com
