This is truly a hectic, fast paced world that we live in and to take the time to smell the roses just doesn't seem to be in vogue anymore. We work so hard and sacrifice so much that the only time that we DO take the time to reminisce on the good times that we've had with our loved ones is long after they're gone. That statement is not a condemnation of anyone as though it is their fault that they are going through the great pain of losing someone precious in their lives but in reality an admission on my part of what I've gone through personally in my losses in my earthly walk. I wasn't us to really get down and talk about this thing called loss and that seemingly never ending pain that can grip your heart in a manner that you just can't believe that anyone else has gone through it but you. While it is easy for someone to send to you a mere card stating that they are "sorry for your loss" and that "prayer changes things", it just seems as though no one understands when they go into that automatic mode of stating what is politically correct to someone who is truly hurting because they do not have their special one with them at this time. The contact from so many people when we are hurting just doesn't seem to register as we wish that either we could die too so we can get away from it or just fall off of the earth for a little while just to try to find some logic in the whole upheaval of one's life. I can truthfully say that I've been there done that. And you know what? That pain never really goes away but it is replaced by an understanding so divine that you KNOW that things will one day work out for the best.      

I'm Tired Of Living A Lie! Let's be real people, life is tough. We have religion, but it seems that organized religion just can't get to that part of our hearts that needs attention. Not to knock the church but look at the world around us and ask how effective it is. We have therapists, but would they do what they do out of love or is it the paycheck that is their chief motivation. But the whorehouses are full. The crackhouses are still out there running in full force. Domestic violence and divorce are the order of the day. We can't go a day without masturbating yet we have a mate in our bedroom at night who doesn't even know us or even care about our desires. We feel like misfits but only "act" out what the world considers normal because we are afraid to be ourselves and risk being alienated even more than what we suffer right now. We are angry and most of the time we don't even know what we are angry about, but we have so much frustration inside of ourselves that we just don't know who to trust with our pain because we are scared that our business will be all over the street. Real people do real things and this is not a situation where we are asking for money. We are not asking for fame. All we are doing here is reaching out as a group of loving human beings to another to sooth you and show you some love no matter what it is that you may be going through as we are here to LISTEN! Mental illness in America has been that subject that many have shied away from. More and more as time goes by, it is quite evident that something is terribly wrong with our present system of treating those who suffer mentally as many are misdiagnosed or sent to prison because of the troubles that they have gotten into in their brushes with the law. Afterward, many are highly sedated and medicated as though this will be a cure for them but it's more about "getting them out of our hair" if the truth be told. On the other hand, many of us who are silently suffering sometimes feel that there is a stigma that will label us as "crazy" or something wrong with us if we sought treatment for depression or thought of hopelessness, worthlessness and suicide. Many families will distance themselves from getting help and treatment for those who deserve it as they to are human beings but too many families seem to treat that one as a blight on the perfect picture of family life. When family gatherings are underway, a great many persons who suffer from mental illness are not included and placed somewhere where they are not seen, hence the title of this show: Mental Illness In America: That Dreaded Secret In Our Attics. What we fail to realize is that those who suffer from mental illness are people to, they have feelings and they are not as aloof as one might think because their feelings can be hurt too. We need to stop alienating our family and friends who need help and the only way to do this is through educating the masses about it and letting them know that there is nothing wrong with needed counsel or asking for help when the going gets tough. Discussion and acknowledgment are the first steps to healing the wounds and that is what we surely will do on tonights show!

Child manipulation/brainwashing, public fights and screaming matches, internet character assasinations and stalking, unwanted job visits, mad because of the new significant other, child support games and straight out assaults or even murder! What makes two people who at one time practically vowed to stay together forever or even merely stay in a committed go at each other so viciously to the point of buffoonery as though they are hellbent on being a thorn in that ex-spouses life forever! For many, it has become what they do as their favorite pastime or recreation. Every time you see someone going through this increasingly common and very embarrassing scenarios, you have to realize that it never started out that way. There was a time when these very much now "public enemies" were so kind, loving, affectionate and protective over one another it seemed as though their every moment together was pure HEAVEN! No one would have ever thought that this loving couple would be at each others throats every chance they got and would demean and put down each other to absolutely anyone who cared to listen! I don't know about you but I have been priviledged (?) to be on the receiving end of having to hear when a disgruntled ex-spouse decided to air out the dirty laundry as only they can do it! We really need to speak on this game of Russian Roulette of the heart because with the pressures of the world ever increasing we depend more on those that we love and when things seem to run it's course with two who can't move on in a positive manner it always seems to be a recipe for disaster!
