Elizabeth Gore, Entrepreneurial Advocate, on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:06

A colleague at the United Nations Foundation once gave Elizabeth Gore a new title — “humanitarian bulldozer” — to describe her drive and aptitude for effecting change on scalable levels. And in her latest position she’s doing the same: as the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Dell Technologies, she drives initiatives that support the company’s goals around helping small- and medium-sized businesses scale and prosper. I got to know this week’s Glambition Radio guest in 2014 while she was Chair of the United Nations Foundation’s Global Entrepreneurs Council, which I had the honor of being an entrepreneur delegate for. In that position, she helped build global partnerships that positively affect the UN’s most pressing humanitarian issues. She previously served as the first ever Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the UN Foundation, as well as VP of Global Partnerships, and founded strategic grassroots efforts such as Girl Up. You get the idea: Elizabeth Gore is someone who makes things happen. And someone you want to know. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, we discuss how the recent election is powering up more women than ever to get involved and lead the change they want to see. (And how it doesn’t have to be at a huge level to make a difference.) Elizabeth is also a partner in the Circular Board growth accelerator program for women entrepreneurs along with my friend Carolyn Rodz, and their “playground meeting” story will give you a chuckle. (Sometimes with young kids you just have to do what it takes.) I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode.  Tamara Lohan, founder of travel site “Mr & Mrs Smith” on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:34

A disastrous romantic weekend getaway turned Tamara Lohan and her husband, James, into boutique hotel experts with a vengeance. They decided to package their knowledge into a guide, then a business. Today, the UK-based company books over $70 Million in accommodations a year via their site MrAndMrsSmith.com, making them one of the luxury travel industry’s top global brands. But most of all, you’ll love Tamara’s spirit and how she’s done all this while going from London party girl to a high achieving entrepreneur mom. Listen here now: On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Tamara reveals why she never wanted to be an entrepreneur, explains what’s behind her company’s name (it has nothing to do with Brad and Angelina!), and tells us how the hell she did this while raising two kids. (And doing it sanely. Well, there was that time she locked them all in the car while launching her new website – story revealed on the show.) Before they became Mr & Mrs Smith, Tamara and James worked day jobs in London and looked forward to luxurious weekend breaks from the city. But, the choices were slim and hard to find, so the couple decided to write their own boutique hotel guidebooks. Publishers turned them down, so Tamara and James borrowed money – put everything they had on the line – and self-published. The gamble paid off, and they sold 10,000 copies of their guidebooks within six weeks. A few years later, they launched MrAndMrsSmith.com and now have 120 staff members in their offices in London, Los Angeles, Singapore, and New York. Click the play button below to hear the cheeky legend behind the Mr & Mrs Smith name in Tamara’s Glambition Radio interview here. Tamara and James have always taken their kids on the road with them, and now they’re turning Mr & Mrs Smith into a family act. The company is expanding into private villas — offering something special for the whole family. Parents can combine lush accommodations with quality family time. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Tamara and I also talk about finding gold dust, the downside of being superhuman, and why you have to keep on top of the details!  Stephanie Breedlove, founder of Care.com HomePay and Author of “All In” on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:36

Listen here now: When I had my twins in 2013, I was thrust into a new world of childcare arrangements, options, and fast learning. And one of the biggest headaches was paying our nanny legally as a true household employee — until I found Breedlove & Associates (which had just merged with Care.com). Breedlove’s concept was simple—bringing the turnkey payroll service that businesses have used for years to a new market. But it solved a huge headache for families—unfortunately the current tax requirements make it incredibly difficult and expensive for families to set up and manage household payroll easily. (Welcome to America.) Then earlier this year, I was introduced online to a business leader named Stephanie Breedlove, and I’m thinking “I know that name!” Turns out this company had a real person behind it, and a fantastic story. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Stephanie tells the tale on how she and her husband built this company from the ground up with no investors to a later acquisition of over $50 million. (Pretty sweet deal!) We talk about the moment she knew it was time to leave her cushy corporate job to pursue this venture, what it took along the way to believe in herself and to deliver this service that families need, and where her call to service is taking her now. We also discuss her book “All In”, which comes out in the new year (preorders are available now at Amazon), and what it means to be “all in”. (And what it means to not be.) Click the play button below and hear why Stephanie believes there is no “right time” in our Glambition Radio interview here. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode.  Lisa Nichols, author of “Abundance Now!” and star of “The Secret” on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 51:29

Listen here now: Lisa Nichols and I crossed paths for years in the virtual world, but never quite got to meet. Then, we finally met up for a private dinner this past summer in Laguna Beach, and it was a mutual girl-crush unleashed. Her story is remarkable, transforming herself from single mom on public assistance into CEO of a multi-million dollar company, the best-selling author of seven books, and a featured teacher in “The Secret.” The lessons Lisa learned on her extraordinary journey have developed into a clear message of empowerment, service, and gratitude, inspiring people worldwide to reach incredible goals and tap into limitless potential. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Lisa explains how hitting rock bottom turned her into an entrepreneur. And, she tells us what’s behind her mission to show men and women how to lead meaningful lives with her new book, “Abundance Now!” Lisa was a 27-year-old single mom and, with only $12 in her bank account, she couldn’t buy diapers for her son. It was her darkest day - and it changed her life. For the next ten years, Lisa worked in personal development. She launched her company Motivating the Masses and the non-profit Motivating the Teen Spirit (which earned her several humanitarian awards). She co-authored “Chicken Soup for the African American Soul.” And then, “The Secret” turned Lisa into an “overnight success”.  (An inside joke you’ll hear all about in our interview!) Click the play button at the bottom of the page and hear why Lisa almost turned down “The Secret” in her Glambition Radio interview here. Lisa’s new book, “Abundance Now!” provides a clear and practical blueprint for personal success. It’s a 360-degree holistic approach to finding a full, abundant life —now — on your own terms. And this was no boring interview… On this episode of Glambition Radio, Lisa and I cover how to travel for business and not drive your family crazy, Nichols family pool parties, which Tupperware to use, the tragedy of dimming your light for others, and bootleg poetry – and so much more! I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So click the play button below and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Listen here now: Love and Success,     P.S.  Tara Marino, Founder of Elegant Femme on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:49

Listen here now: After losing her newborn son, Tara Marino hit rock bottom and questioned everything about her life and all existence. But today she tells her story on how she rebuilt her life and faith, piece by piece, and how in the end that tragedy steered her to wait no longer to go after her dreams. Now, as a successful entrepreneur, fashion designer, wife, and mother of two healthy boys, she lives with her family in Paris and travels the world leading women to rediscover what it really means to live *fully*. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Tara shares the story behind her company Elegant Femme, which inspires women to find balance, prosperity, their unique femininity – and the life they truly deserve. Click the play button at the bottom of the page to hear why Tara decided to break through… rather than break down… in our Glambition Radio interview here. We go DEEP in this episode on exploring not only how Tara recovered from that loss years ago, to today how we as women have lost the fullness of our natural gifts by working so hard and operating from our masculine mode so much. (Can you relate? Yep.) As a bonus, Tara shares her three “Femme Types” which I’m sure you’ll relate to instantly as much as I did when I first dove into her content as her coach. (I’m delighted to share Tara is in her second year in my Premier group with the other extraordinary 7-figure+ women I coach from around the world.) We also dish on inner knowing, smelling the baguettes, and choosing the right underwear. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode.  Leela Cosgrove, Founder of The 8 Percent on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:55

Listen here now: When Leela Cosgrove applied to coach with me in 2014, I have to say I was a bit, um, disrupted — which is, in the end, her purpose. This wild child, one of Australia’s top marketing experts, and outspoken founder of two game-changers, Strategic Anarchy and The 8 Percent, has been plotting a creative revolution that is coming out big in just a few weeks at a Melbourne festival like no other. But just 10 years ago, Leela was punching a timecard and working as a temp. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Leela and I cover ground — step by step — on how she went from a day job pushing papers to being a go-to marketing guru to now changing how business is done — and how she’s one of what she calls “the 8 percent”. Click the play button at the bottom to hear why 2014 nearly killed Leela and her dream, but how she’s come out stronger than ever with a new unstoppable mission around cultural creatives and entrepreneurs. It’s a huge goal I know no one would take on. Except Leela. Quite a long way from two years ago when she was dealing with a team implosion and beginning a complete overhaul of her business. Today she’s doing edgy joint ventures with companies like Hermès, has been nominated for the Veuve Clicquot "New Generation" entrepreneur award, and has been hanging out with Richard Branson and friends on Necker Island. (An invitation I was delighted to pass onto my private clients.) How? She always starts with gratitude (a big deal in my book) and never, ever gives up. If she can’t get around, she goes through. If she can’t get through, she goes over and above. Leela launched The 8 Percent to pay tribute to thought leaders and independent spirits — the disrupters — who break down barriers to change. In our interview, we also preview her 8 Percent Festival in Australia next month, a three-day event where some of the brightest minds in business and the arts form a live think tank on stage to solve society’s biggest problems, from new media to the refugee crisis. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Leela and I also cover everything from the magic of Melbourne, punk rock, business building blocks, and being snubbed by your pet after a long bout of travel. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So click the play button below and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Listen here now: Love and Success,     P.S.  Tamsen Fadal, Author of “The New Single” on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:58

Listen here now: New York TV news anchor Tamsen Fadal has won eight Emmy Awards, reported live from war zones, and even starred in a Broadway show - but her own story could be the most inspiring one she’ll ever tell. After a VERY public divorce, she hit the reset button on her life and rediscovered her peace, passion, and personal power. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Tamsen tells us why she’s made it her mission to help smart, successful women survive and thrive after a break-up or divorce with her book, “The New Single.” After moving to New York, Tamsen and her husband Matt were stunned to learn there were 200,000 more single women than men in Manhattan. The couple opened a personal matchmaking business and wrote three books on the topic of love, “Don’t Date Dumb,” “Why Hasn’t He Called,” and “Why Hasn’t He Proposed.” Business was great and the PR was nonstop. Tamsen felt like she had the picture-perfect marriage and life. But then, the unthinkable happened: The relationship experts’ own marriage imploded… VERY publicly. (By clicking the play button below, you can hear how she spills all the details in our Glambition Radio interview.) Tamsen admits that for a long time, she was embarrassed to talk about the divorce. She was anchoring the news every night and terrified of what people were saying behind her back. And now suddenly single, she didn’t know what to do. But, after a few hard years, Tamsen came through it and shares all the lessons she learned for surviving, thriving, living, and loving as one of a growing group of women, which she calls “The New Single.” On this episode of Glambition Radio, Tamsen and I also have a lot of fun talking about dating stories, including: ignoring what she calls “pink flags” (instead of red flags) dating that couch-surfing guy (admit it! You have) things to consider if you’re getting back out there (including what to wax…. hmm) and her 90-DAY rule for getting through anything (I loved this one, as it was really, really true and I use it now myself).  I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So click the play button below and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now. And you’ll want to pick up a copy of her book “The New Single” as well – it’s fantastic!  Rolonda Watts, Actress, Journalist, and Author on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:31

Listen here now: You know her voice, and you know her name. And Rolonda Watts loves a good story. So it’s only natural that the Emmy and Cable Ace award-nominated journalist, talk show host, executive producer, actress, and speaker is adding “author” to her already impressive list of accomplishments. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Rolonda tells us how having fun can make you rich, why she ended up walking away from her first big TV break, and what compelled her to write her debut novel, “Destiny Lingers.” I was delighted to meet Rolonda a few years ago at a private retreat with Stedman Graham, but it was just last year that I was watching PBS’s “Curious George” animated series with my children, and my ears suddenly perked up. “I know that voice!” I thought, when I heard Professor Wiseman speak. “That’s Rolonda!” (Hear me ask her if there truly is any romantic tension between Professor Wiseman and the Man with the Yellow Hat. I bet on it!) Back in the 90s, Rolonda was already a respected investigative news reporter and weekend anchor in New York City when she was offered her own talk show. She turned it down, but Roger King, the Chairman of King World Television (and producer of “The Oprah Winfrey Show”) saw something in her that she hadn’t seen in herself, and convinced her to give it a try. “Rolonda” tackled serious topics for four years until sensationalism dominated talk TV, and she’ll share on the interview exactly why she decided to walk away. Looking for something new, Rolonda took a chance on Hollywood and went on to act in over 25 TV series and a dozen movies. By clicking the play button below, you can hear how surviving Hurricane Bertha inspired Rolonda’s first novel in her Glambition Radio interview here. The message of “Destiny Lingers” is that time moves on – and love endures all. Rolonda’s beautifully woven story reminds us that not too long ago people were arrested and sometimes killed for loving across color or gender lines, and many sacrifices were made so we could have the freedom to love. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Rolonda and I talk about legacy, romance, and “Curious George!” We even delve into the trials and tribulations of dating in LA. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So click the play button below and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now. Listen here now: Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  Rachel Hofstetter, Co-Founder of Guesterly on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:05

Listen here now: Rachel Hofstetter went from being a food lover to the food editor at “O, the Oprah Magazine”. And the stories she wrote about food entrepreneurs with million-dollar ideas inspired her to start her own business. She co-founded Guesterly, a software platform used to create one-of-a-kind magazines for special events like weddings, and she became her own entrepreneur success story. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Rachel tells us how she got the foodie’s ultimate dream job, why writing a best-seller led to a major career-shift, and how ‘being open to everything’ changed her life. Early in her writing career, an editor advised Rachel to choose a specialty, so she focused all her energy on becoming a food expert. A few years later, she was hired as an editorial assistant at O, and although she wasn’t working in the food department, Rachel offered up a spec piece on superfoods to show the bosses what she could do. They never ran the article, but her talent and drive did not go unnoticed. When Rachel became the magazine’s food editor, she aimed her attention at entrepreneurs whose on-the-kitchen-table ideas turned into multi-million dollar businesses. Some of her favorite food start-up stories were published in her best-selling book, “Cooking Up a Business: Ten Food Lovers Who Turned Their Passion Into a Career – And How You Can, Too.” By clicking the play button below, you can hear how Rachel learned to look out for “a-ha” moments in her Glambition Radio interview here. While writing the book, Rachel was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. She developed a passion to connect people in unique ways into multiple business opportunities. After Guesterly was acquired by Chatbooks, she became the VP of Marketing across all the company’s brands, and partnered with my friend Angelia Jia Kim of Savor the Success to create “PR School”, where brand-makers learn how to connect with the media. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Rachel and I talk apples and oranges, finding your niche, and why you should, “Give, Give and Get.” I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode.  Felena Hanson, author of “Flight Club” and founder of Hera Hub on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:40

Listen here now: She’s back, with a brand new book! If anyone knows how to survive adversity and thrive, it’s Hera Hub founder Felena Hanson. By the time she was 30, she had been laid off three times, endured a bitter divorce, and hit by a fire truck (breaking 27 bones in her legs, arms, and face!) Rather than give up when she was knocked down, Felena got up and fought her way to something even better. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Felena tells us why she knows first hand that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and shows us how women entrepreneurs can embrace their struggles and move forward with her new book, “Flight Club: Rebel, Reinvent, and Thrive: How to Launch Your Dream Business.” Felena can trace her entrepreneurial nature and willingness to take risks back to her childhood. Both her parents were entrepreneurs and raised their daughter to be bold and unconventional. So, Felena wasn’t afraid to lean in to change, and never doubted she would find success – on her own terms. By clicking the play button below, you can hear what peacock feathers taught Felena about running a business in her Glambition Radio interview here. It’s been five years since Felena launched Hera Hub, shared workspaces designed to provide a productive work environment and community for women who work from home. She has seen thousands of women struggle with the overwhelming amount of information and the steps they have to take to open and grow a business. “Flight Club” offers stories of inspiration and a step-by-step guide to the mechanics of launching a business. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Felena and I talk about longing for something different, success beyond monetary rewards, and even Brad Pitt. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode.  Joy Chudacoff, of Smart Women Smart Solutions on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 43:01

Listen here now: Joy Chudacoff is a gifted coach and advisor when it comes to helping women discover their big ideas, dreams and goals. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Joy tells us how she used the lunch hour at her day job to launch her first business, why she owes her career to simple curiosity, and what life-changing events made her choose to give up a lucrative business to pursue a family-first lifestyle. Joy was 28 when she realized that a weekly salary wasn’t going to be enough for her. She found a niche business opportunity in medical equipment sales and worked day and night to break out on her own. Within 18 months, she went from employee to entrepreneur, and then built a thriving international marketing firm from the ground up. But, when her husband was diagnosed with a kidney condition, Joy’s priorities shifted. Looking for a way to put her family first and follow her passion for business, Joy went back to school and earned a coaching certification, so she could help other women find personal and professional success – on their own terms.  Jessica Herrin of Stella & Dot on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:49

Listen here now: Meet the *billion-dollar* founder & CEO who still admits there are some nights you have to get over being supermom and just feed your family the supermarket chicken. That was just one of the chuckles Jessica Herrin and I had on this fantastic, fresh conversation on Glambition Radio. (This is her second time on the show, too!) If you don’t know this amazing woman who leads the jewelry direct sales phenomenon Stella & Dot, get ready to be very, very impressed. Her new book, “Find Your Extraordinary”, is out, and I have to say it’s an absolute must-read for women. Jessica Herrin launched Stella & Dot because she was on a mission to reinvent work for modern women. Her company’s revolutionary model for home-based business is responsible for over 50,000 businesses in six countries – and makes it possible for women entrepreneurs everywhere to achieve success on their own terms. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Jessica tells us what inspired her game-changing ideas, why we have to “believe in ourselves beyond reason,” and how her best-selling new book will help you “Find Your Extraordinary”. Jessica was attending a community college when she decided to leave her rebellious teenage years behind, buckle down, and “live up to her potential.” She earned a transfer to Stanford, and then co-founded her first successful business, WeddingChannel.com. When she started a family, Jessica tried to be a supermom, superwife, and CEO – but the stress and guilt were only leaving her with regrets. So she got real, stopped trying to have it all, and focused on what really mattered to her. By clicking the play button below, you can hear how Jessica learned to stop juggling and let the balls just bounce in her Glambition Radio interview here. Jessica wrote, “Find Your Extraordinary” as a guide to create success in all parts of your life.  Val Wright, author of “Thoughtfully Ruthless” on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 33:52

Listen here now: When companies like Microsoft, Starbucks, Amazon, and DreamWorks Animation expand their global reach, they call innovation expert Val Wright to make it happen. Her unique reputation as a growth accelerator makes her one of Clicksoftware’s Top 50 Resources for CEOs, and has earned her a place in the Million Dollar Consultant Hall of Fame. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Val tells us how she went from being a shop-girl to a global business consultant, and why she’s encouraging top executives to be “Thoughtfully Ruthless” with her new book. When Val was 15, she started a business for a school project and when it turned a profit, an entrepreneur was born. Her first job out of college was working on the sales floor of Harrods department store in London. A promotion allowed her to discover a talent for corporate management, and then she moved on to positions at companies like Amazon, BMW, and Marconi. Over her 25-year career, Val’s learned that intentions are what set exceptional leaders apart from those that are just successful. Her new book, “Thoughtfully Ruthless” is a guide to find the conviction behind the goals you want to reach in your career and personal life.  On this episode of Glambition Radio, Val and I bond over the challenge of raising twins, how to say “no” (and mean it!), and why wishful thinking works.  Carolyn Rodz, of Circular Board on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 41:24

Listen here now: Carolyn Rodz has raised billions of dollars in capital for start-ups and Fortune 500 companies, and designed global strategy campaigns to position her clients as industry leaders. But, it’s Circular Board, the business accelerator Carolyn created exclusively for women, that makes her one of Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2016 “Women to Watch”. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Carolyn talks candidly about failing her first time out as an entrepreneur, and why that eye-opening experience turned her into an advocate for women business owners, determined to spread the wealth and close the gender gap in the competitive world of start-ups. When Carolyn left her steady job with JP Morgan Chase to launch her own luxury retail line, she was confident her new venture would be a great success. She had financing and distributorships with big retailers like Harrods and Neiman Marcus. It all looked great on paper, but what Carolyn didn’t count on was how much she didn’t know… and how lonely it was going to be to go at it alone. Carolyn forgot about her greatest asset – she had an incredible network of people and never called on them when she needed them the most. The next time she started a company, Carolyn’s networking paid off and she built her own multi-million dollar business. By clicking the play button below, you can hear how Carolyn is creating a whole new ecosystem for the women entrepreneur in her Glambition Radio interview here. Circular Board is everything Carolyn wishes she had back when she started out as an entrepreneur. Participants join peer groups, and via videoconference they share ideas and receive feedback from fellow women entrepreneurs from all over the world. The program offers mentors and community resources, but its main goal is to give women in business the opportunity to be vulnerable, learn, experiment and grow. I was honored that Carolyn asked me to speak on stage at her recent Circular Board event, alongside leaders like Jane Wurwand of Dermalogica and Alli Webb of Drybar.  Jo Frost, “Supernanny”, on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 44:27

Listen here now: You’ve binge watched the show. You know the naughty step. And you’ve been wondering what Jo Frost is up to these days. Well, we’ve got the original Supernanny here on Glambition Radio! Jo Frost’s natural gift for connecting with children turned her into the worldwide phenomenon you knew and loved, “Supernanny”. Her three TV shows and six best-selling books have become international go-to guides for families facing the everyday – and sometimes extreme — challenges of child rearing. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Jo tells us how she developed practical solutions for raising kids, what women entrepreneurs can do to find their “mommy-time,” and why she’s hitting the road again with her new TV show, Jo Frost: Nanny on Tour. During Jo’s 17 years as a nanny in the UK, she earned the reputation of a child-care expert with unique solutions for common parenting problems. Her down-to-earth advice applies to bedtime struggles, picky eaters, temper-tantrums, bringing-home-baby, and shows families how to stick together during some of the toughest moments of their lives. When she got the opportunity to share what she knew with a TV audience, Jo jumped at the chance to educate by example – sure that if she could show families working through their challenges, they’d be a true inspiration to other families and pave the way for generations of emotionally healthy children. By clicking the play button below, you can hear why Americans had to be convinced that Jo wasn’t just a good actress playing the part of a Supernanny in her Glambition Radio interview here. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Jo explains the three types of temper-tantrums (my twins know them all!), facing the energy-zappers, and why she does her best thinking while she’s submerged in water.
