Claudia Chan, Founder of SHE Globl Media — Glambition Radio Episode 126 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:54

Some women get things done and others are get-things-done powerhouses. Meet the woman behind the award-winning global leadership conference, SHE Summit and SHE Globl Media, a corporate initiative that helps Fortune 100 companies accelerate their gender equality and diversity programs. Claudia just released her new book, This Is How We Rise: Reach Your Highest Potential, Empower Women, Lead Change in the World, so it was a great time to catch up on the show. What's Claudia’s secret? You have to hear this week’s episode of Glambition Radio. A recognized expert on leadership and social entrepreneurship, Claudia has been leading change in the world. And she believes you can too. She says your birthright is to be extraordinary, and her book will help you reach your highest potential as a change agent by tapping into your purpose-centric mindset. (You can learn more and order the book here.)  On this episode of Glambition Radio, we dive deep into the This Is How We Rise framework — how we as leaders and entrepreneurs can tap into our energy to be an activist in the world. It starts with figuring out what really matters to you and then asking for help. We are not meant to do our great work by ourselves. And we have to let some things go, especially our self-judgement. On the show, we also discuss: * how her life has changed since her last Glambition Radio interview in 2014 (clue: two toddlers!) * how “living on purpose” has helped her grow and evolve * the writing process and how we both work better by processing out loud (this is great tip — you don’t want to miss it!) * how writing her first book transformed her into more of who she was meant to be and helped her get clear on her ideology * what it means to live with a purpose-centric mindset and live “for the world” instead of “in the world”. * how your life is not about what you need to get done but who you want to become — talk about an instant shift! * what it means to lead from where we are and how to propel our actions * what she is doing at SHE Globl with big brands like Bacardi, Toyota, and Coca-Cola (this is fascinating!) If you’re in NYC, try to drop by Claudia’s SHE Summit, her impactful 2-day Conference on October 19-20. She has a great line-up of influential speakers like my friends (and some clients) Amanda Steinberg, Kara Goldin, Farnoosh Torabi, and Rha Goddess. They will guide you on a personal-professional transformation to lead change. And you get a signed copy of Claudia’s book. (Learn more and grab a seat at http://shesummit.com/) It was an honor to speak at her SHE Summit event back in 2015. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Claudia and I also talk about the reality of being a working mom and “mommy guilt”, the importance of connecting with like-minded people who support and empower us, and how to treat your life like the organization you’re leading (this is key!). I know you’ll get a lot out of this interview. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  Rha Goddess, Founder + CEO of Move The Crowd — Glambition Radio Episode 125 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 55:33

Today’s show is a deep conversation with Rha Goddess, who is empowering a new generation of conscious entrepreneurs to “stay true, get paid, and do good” through her creation and work as CEO of Move The Crowd. She is the “entrepreneurial soul coach” behind hundreds of breakthrough change-makers, cultural visionaries, and social entrepreneurs. But my client Rha’s story is just as powerful as the movement she’s created. On this episode of Glambition Radio I have Rha go back to her Brooklyn childhood, and then what she calls the intersection of civil rights and hip hop. Her activist parents — who survived two decades of segregation and then worked on the front lines of the  civil rights movement — and what she witnessed growing up helped shape her into the cultural innovator and conscious entrepreneur she is today. After a dual major in chemistry and computer science at Vassar, Rha worked for a 50 Fortune corporation in their specialty chemicals division. But she always maintained her “ground level” mission: On evenings and weekends she led gang intervention work in South Central Los Angeles. It was through watching the epidemic of youth violence she knew she wanted to make a bigger change in the lives of young people. The big leap from the corporate world to becoming a full time social entrepreneur came to Rha when she came across an organization doing peace education and conflict mediation work in the schools, and it hit her. That is what she wanted to be doing. Within four months she had left her corporate gig — taking a 50%+ pay cut — and stepped into a new world where she learned how to use her love for hip hop artistry as a vehicle to help young people become change for themselves and for those around them. Hear how Rha came to the revelation that she could do her soul passion — her great work to serve — and make money doing it without sacrificing her morals. It’s not a trade off. You can have both. Hear the full story this episode of Glambition Radio. On the show, we discuss: * how the right to belong is the theme running through the center of the issues we are grappling with in our world today — from gang violence to populism * how she became a rapper and used spoken-word poetry “floetry” to process what was happening around her — violence, inequity, poverty — and how it brought the activist and artist within her together * how Rha’s coaching and mentoring is all about supporting you in becoming more of who you already are * what the current administration means for us: We all have a role to play. It’s our time to act. * how we are shifting from the Age of Celebrity to the Age of the Citizen, and it’s time to create our own brand of contribution. * her upcoming “True. Paid. Good. Summit”, Oct. 13-15, 2017 in New York. (Learn more and grab a seat at summit.movethecrowd.me ) Rha and I dive deep into the fear of change that so many women feel and how you have to let go of what doesn’t serve you anymore (even if you built it). Gals, this show is pure gold. You have to hear this episode of Glambition Radio here (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  Kavita J. Patel, Love and Relationship Expert — Glambition Radio Episode 124 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:49

Today’s topic is a deep ride with my client Kavita J. Patel, whose insights on love and relationships are profound. And it starts with her own love story. After her partner of four years abruptly broke up with her, she blamed herself and promptly made several failed attempts to win him back (making him a gift basket, showing up on his door step, she did it all!), she finally had to let go. But a year and half later, they got back together, and today they are married (with baby on the way, too!). But it’s how she changed herself that made the difference, and it’s something she explains in detail on this week’s Glambition Radio. Kavita is a love and relationship coach whose mission is to help people understand that relationships are a window into the self. She has studied ancient eastern philosophy for 20 years, and her practical-meets-spiritual, no-nonsense method of coaching teaches her clients how to turn inwards to identify and release what she refers to as your subconscious past, to cultivate worthiness from within. If you’ve felt unworthy of love or have struggled in your romantic relationships, you need to hear this episode of Glambition Radio. On the show, we discuss: * throwing away the dating “rules” — I share my own funny stories around trying all the methods in my earlier years! * how relationships are the biggest force and contributor toward your own evolvement as an individual * why we sometimes still feel lonely even when we are with somebody we love * how understanding and releasing your subconscious past can transform you – and it’s not as painful a process as you may fear * why it’s important to surround yourself with the right people and work with the right mentors * her upcoming online course “Worthy from Within” Hear how Kavita creating space to nurture her inner worthiness led to her finally landing a healthy and successful relationship — she takes us through her special 4-part process. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Kavita and I also talk about pregnancy brain, what to do if your guy is just being a jerk (where do we draw the line on developing ourselves?), and why it’s important to cultivate your curiosity. You’re not going to want to miss this. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). ***ALSO, if you’d like to know YOUR love type, and how it affects your love life and relationships, take Kavita’s QUIZ here. You can have the best product or service and a gorgeous website, but if you’re not putting yourself out there and meeting others in person, you are really doing yourself a disservice. I was inspired to originally record this previous episode of Glambition Radio after attending three incredible events in a row: the Forbes Women’s Summit, the Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network event, and the United Nations Foundation Global Accelerator. Yes, I had to pack, get my nails done, organize schedules, jump on an airplane, make sure my pants still fit, and leave my twins who were just a year old at that time. :( And yes, it was stressful, exhausting, and a lot of work… with a big dose of mommy guilt too. But it was 100% worth it. As much as you think you don’t have time to network, I’m here to tell you that you do. Opportunities come through people. Meeting the right person can change everything for your business and your life. But you need a strategy for effective, successful networking, and these tips will help you.  Cindy Whitehead, Founder of The Pink Ceiling and Former CEO of Sprout Pharmaceuticals — Glambition Radio Episode 121 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 32:57

She created Addyi, the first FDA-approved drug for women with low libidos, dubbed by the media as “the female Viagra”, and sold the company that created it —Sprout Pharmaceuticals — for $1 BILLION. And now, Cindy Whitehead isn’t slowing down. She’s created the Pink Ceiling… a venture to help more women focused businesses get the funding they need to skyrocket like she did. A fitting name given Cindy’s signature pink outfits and matching lipstick — the new company is a cross between a VC firm, a ‘pinkubator’ and a consulting enterprise. Her mission is to mentor, invest in, launch. and build other women led or focused businesses, helping them come to market and scale. But first, on this episode of Glambition Radio, I make Cindy go back through her career, how she believed in herself, and — helloooooo — how exactly do you build a company that sells for a BILLION dollars? On the show we discuss: * how Cindy got started in the pharma industry and made a decision to focus on helping women *why being underestimated can actually be a HUGE advantage in business *how she got a boardroom of men in all grey suits to stop chuckling at her and actually listen to her pitch (even while wearing pink!) *her mission for Pink Ceiling now, in her words, has to do with ‘making a lot of women really f-ing rich’) *the joy and agony of selling a company that includes the idea you birthed *(this was my nosy question) HOW the money officially arrives when you sell a business for $$$ billions! Cindy has been featured in The New York Times, Associated Press, Financial Times, Vanity Fair, Bloomberg, CNBC, CBS, Fox, Yahoo and has been on the cover of Entrepreneur Magazine. She has been an invited speaker at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women, at the Fast Company Innovation Festival, SXSW and Inc. Women about what it takes for breakthrough business success. Hear why Fortune called her “a tireless force of nature” on this episode of Glambition Radio. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Cindy in person several times now, and I have to tell you this gal is the real deal — brilliant, beautiful, driven, warm, and ready to take on more.  Suzy Batiz, Founder & CEO of Poo~Pourri — Glambition Radio Episode 120 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:47

She ignored her instincts and looked outside herself for happiness for the first four decades of her life. But overriding her intuition led to domestic abuse, failed businesses, and bankruptcy. It was Suzy Batiz’s second bankruptcy at age 40 that propelled her on a spiritual quest, where she rediscovered tapping into her own higher power for creativity and ideas. It took her nine months to start Poo~Pourri — the ‘before-you-go’ toilet spray — and it was a slow beginning (she had to beg people people to take the product!). A year later she did $1 million in revenue, mostly by word of mouth. This year is her 10-year anniversary and she has built what is now a $300+ million business. And with 100% ownership. (No investors running her show.) How did she do it? You’ll hear the play-by-play story on this week’s Glambition Radio. The business was birthed out of her true passion and belief in the product, and in herself. She didn’t (and still doesn’t) have a business plan, a big goal, or even people in her life who believed in her idea (even her husband didn’t get it!). But SHE knew she could do it. Suzy pressed forward because… it made her happy. She calls it her ‘resonate idea’ and explains how she built Poo~Pourri using what she now calls her “Radical Resonance System” on this episode on Glambition Radio. On the show we discuss: What happened when she called a cellular biologist and asked him if an idea could be alive (you have to hear his answer!) The importance of living moment to moment and how it’s changed her business (and life) The milestones that really shot up her sales When it’s okay to admit you have no idea what you’re doing Why having a rough start can be a good thing (and what it says about you!) The Poo~Pourri video that went viral in 2013 and how within two weeks she had $4 million in back order. (If you haven’t seen it, you’ll see why it went viral. Watch it here.) Why you DON’T have to say yes (in fact, saying no could be exactly what you need to do!) Why you need to stop pushing and start FEELING. (Hear how she tapped into her feminine framework to grow her business organically.) This woman and I are singing the same song. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Suzy and I also talk about the importance of not waiting until you’re successful to be happy, why you need to trust yourself and not look to the external world for answers, and why being detached to your business can actually be a good thing. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  Taryn Brumfitt, Founder of the Body Image Movement & Creator of the ‘Embrace’ film — Glambition Radio Episode 119 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 35:04

Taryn Brumfitt had no idea by sharing a non-traditional “before and after” image online to give her girlfriends a boost of self-acceptance would get so much attention. On the left, a posed and ripped Taryn in a bikini. On the right, a naked and plumper Taryn, completely comfortable in her own skin. The 2013 post initially generated over 100,000,000 views, her inbox was immediately flooded with thousands of emails, worldwide media began blowing up her phone, and by default, her Global Body Image movement was launched. This past year, her documentary EMBRACE was released as well, and we’ve got the full story on this week’s Glambition Radio. Taryn’s documentary was Australia's most successful documentary last year. The film has had hundreds of screenings in the U.S., and in Germany EMBRACE even surpassed the opening nights of both Guardians of the Galaxy and King Arthur. The film shot to number one at the box office, beating male-led block-busters. It's a testament to how many women around the world are ready to change the conversation of how we view and value our bodies. Hear Taryn’s full story and more about her EMBRACE film on this episode of Glambition Radio. On the show we discuss: * How Taryn handled the initial deluge of media interest, support… and the haters, who thought she was promoting obesity! * Whether she has ever had a “vulnerability hangover” around it posting that image in the first place. * Why she decided to create the Body Image Movement and what it’s doing around the world * Why her Embrace film initially received a MA-15 rating in Australia (an R-rating here in the States) and how she fought the classification board to get it overturned * The backlash from her fans when she posted a photo with Aussie active-wear guru Lorna Jane — you have to hear why it happened, how she handled it, and the good that’s come from it * What she thinks about social media and how it’s supporting her movement (and how she teaches kids to use it to inspire their life) * She and I also have a real chat about cosmetic surgery (her views may surprise you) and I share mine too. Hear how Taryn turned the negativity and criticism she faced about her message (and her body) into a world-wide movement that has educated millions and has created a great shift in how we look at ourselves and others. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Taryn and I also talk about the importance of not taking yourself too seriously, how to stop being at war with you body, and why you need to trust yourself.  Alison Lumbatis, Founder & CEO of StyleChallenges.com & Stylegistix.com — Glambition Radio Episode 118 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:56

Meet the Texas mom who went from telecom engineer to online style maven, by starting a simple blog that’s now on track to be a 7-figure business as it’s expanding into new platforms and markets. After working in a male-dominated field for 14 years, Alison Lumbatis had had enough and wanted to spend more time with her two kids while she considered a new career. There was only one problem: She didn’t know what to wear when she wasn’t working! When she realized she was falling into a rut of yoga pants and feeling frumpy, she looked for advice on how to feel a bit more pulled together. When she couldn’t find what she was looking for, she started her own blog called Get Your Pretty On (GYPO). The blog built a huge audience, but wasn’t making money, and she was looking for a way to earn a living from it. After surveying her subscribers, she realized they’d like more “done for you” recommendations, so she created StyleChallenges.com which was a first-of-its kind subscription “style capsules” for clients who wanted done-for-you wardrobe recommendations, and from there her revenues really took off. (Alison explains more about this business model on the show.) Now, just three years later, my client Alison’s ventures are reaching a half million visitors annually in 200 countries worldwide, and over 10,000 women in 20 different countries have taken part in her style challenges. That’s all cool enough, but what’s going to really blow your mind is the next level she’s taking this to, which we developed during our VIP Strategy Day together last year... Hear how Alison did it on this week’s Glambition Radio! On the show, we discuss: * Why her blog stuck a chord with women and how she grew it to over 150,000 page views per month in the first year * How what we wear affects our confidence and how others perceive us and our business (even when you’re just working at home – you’ll hear my funny story on how I just can’t close big deals while wearing sweatpants) * Alison’s biggest regret in building her blog. (Don’t make this mistake!) * Why you need to wake up and do the work every day — she’ll explain)  * My big beef with corporate “business casual”… and the humorous story that started the idea for this episode On this episode of Glambition Radio, Alison and I also talk about the seductive active-wear phenomenon, the trends to look out for this fall, and classic basics that carry over from season to season. (I love a good pair of nude heels!). You’re going to love this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S.  Heather Dominick, Founder of the Highly Sensitive Entrepreneur Movement — Glambition Radio Episode 117 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 51:45

About 20% of the population are born “highly sensitive”. Once Heather Dominick realized she was one of them, she also identified the way she was growing her business was completely unaligned with who she was. Because the vast majority of coaching and training programs were designed for the other 80%, and her work with those coaches drove her to overwhelm, exhaustion, and even health problems. She also realized there were many women like her, who had incredible gifts to share as coaches, healers, and creative entrepreneurs who were seeking training that WAS aligned. So Heather started the Highly Sensitive Entrepreneur (HSE) movement. If you’ve suffered most of your life believing that you are not up to par, you are not as worthy, you are not as valuable as the other 80%, you need to hear this episode of Glambition Radio. Because there’s an awakening to ultimate healing happening for millions of highly-sensitive women, and Heather is guiding us through it. On this episode, my client Heather dives into how to play to your strengths (or as she calls them, your super powers) as an HSE and how to use consistency to go from distraction and procrastination to a transformation in your life and business. On the show, we discuss: * How a “dark night of the soul” led Heather to discover what it means to be an HSE * How HSEs are coded to be the “royal advisors” in today’s world, which is why we are being called to be coaches, consultants, healers, and creative entrepreneurs * The HSE coping mechanisms of hiding and pushing, and how to break the cycles (especially when they can lead to massive health issues!) * There is NO RUSH for your life purpose — it simply becomes who you are. No more “do more to get more that costs more” * What YOU can do now to embrace your sensitivity to bring fulfillment and healing in your life and business * Heather’s deep transformation over the last five years during our coaching together (and what I’ve learned from her as well) * How her quiz at www.taketheHSEquiz.com can tell you if you are an HSE right away Hear how Heather has completely reinvented her life and business to honor 100% who she is, with even better financial results. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Heather and I also talk about the importance of accepting and embracing who YOU are, how to choose a good coach, and the little thing she does at her retreats that blew my mind.  Lenore Skenazy, Founder of the Free-Range Kids Movement — Glambition Radio Episode 116 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 41:46

After her column "Why I Let My 9 Year Old Ride the Subway Alone" landed her on every talk show from The Today Show to Dr. Phil (who debated her status as “America’s Worst Mom”), Lenore Skenazy found herself in the unique position of kicking off the Free-Range Kids movement. Among a ton of new fans, and also a lot of haters. Listen up: Crime rates today are the lowest they’ve been since 1963, so why are parents feeling so torn about letting their kids walk to school, ride their bikes, take the bus, or play ball in the park by themselves? Because we now live in a perpetual state of fear, believing our kids are in constant danger. We are gripped by the terror of extremely rare and random tragedies hammered home by never-ending headline news that today reaches us not only in the papers and on TV but on our laptops, phones, and watches. (And don’t forget those Facebook friends who share never ending “be careful this could happen to you” stories.) That’s all scary enough, but now authorities are limiting parents on what they allow their kids to do. A quick example from Lenore: A mom in Chicago is now on the child abuse registry for letting her children ages 11, 9, and 5 play in the park literally across the street from her house, and whom she was checking on every few minutes. (Weren’t we all babysitting by age 11? This is nuts!) Lenore’s message is simply this: Our kids are just as safe and smart as we were when we were young. And it’s time to give them (and the parents who trust them) a chance. Hear Lenore’s famous “Subway Mom” story and how the Free Range Kids movement all started on this episode of Glambition Radio. On the show, we discuss how: * We are wired for fear, and your mind will always go to “worst first” scenario when you are considering an option (Lenore shares a fascinating study) * Free play can be one of the most important things a kid can do to develop into resilient, happy adults * Some of the scary legislation that Lenore has helped halt— including a Rhode Island bill that proposed making it illegal for even 7th graders (ages 11-12) to get off the bus without an adult to greet them * Mom-guilt, why we’re so quick blame moms, and why we need to give moms the benefit of the doubt *The Free-Range Kids’ and Parents’ Bill of Rights and how you can help make a change in your neighborhood Even if you don’t have kids, consider how the neurotic parents and kids are turning into adults who are incapable of getting through everyday life. Companies are reporting some parents are now reportedly showing up to their adult kids’ job interviews! Consider how this is affecting our entire next generation. Wow.  Judy Edwards, Creator of Squatty Potty — Glambition Radio Episode 115 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 42:15

You’ve seen the infamous pooping unicorn ad. You’ve heard people talking about how it’s changed their lives. You may own one—or several—like I do. But you won’t TRULY understand how the Squatty Potty has become such a product phenomenon—nearing $100 MILLION in sales—until you hear this conversation I had with its creator Judy Edwards. At age 60, this mom of seven (!!!) had the idea for a proper-pooping positioning stool after years of health issues. Along with her husband and son, they started in 2011 with a simple wood prototype they put together in their neighbor’s garage. Their initial goal was just to subsidize their retirement income. Today, Squatty Potty is continuing its fast growth and sees no sign of slowing down. Why is it doing so well? Because it’s truly life changing for those who use it. People are finally realizing it’s much better for your body to have your knees up high when you’re on the can. Judy explains anatomically why, but trust me—I discovered her product myself when pregnant with my twins. My sister said “You’ve GOT to get a Squatty Potty!” and linked me to one Amazon. And today we’ve got the whole family hooked. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Judy tells the tale of how they made each decision in building Squatty Potty along the way, including their wins, mistakes, and bumps in the road. On the show, you’ll hear: * How the pooping unicorn video came to be, why they spent $250,000 on it, and what the final results were * The call from Dr. Oz that Judy’s husband first thought was a crank call (and what he said to get them to buzz off!) * The simple way they got the word out about Squatty Potty in the beginning without spending tons of ad dollars (and it worked tremendously well) * Why even after selling a million units they decided to appear on Shark Tank and give away some equity (and what the results were) * What they decided to do with their newest ad featuring Kathy Griffin… after she lost her mind and posted that grotesque photo. :( * How Judy and her husband are celebrating their upcoming 50th wedding anniversary along with all their children… just amazing Whether you’re looking to learn how to market a retail product as successfully as they have, or just poop better, I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode.  Claire Zammit of Feminine Power & Evolving Wisdom — Glambition Radio Episode 114 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:00:32

Do you feel as if your “song” is still unsung? A calling to BE more and DO more for the world? Even if you’ve already been developing yourself and your career for years? Then Claire Zammit is a woman you need to meet, and you need to hear this episode of Glambition Radio as soon as possible. Because there’s a profound awakening happening for millions of women like us, and Claire is the one who is leading us through it.   Claire got to a point in her life where in spite of all her success, or what others might have thought how great her life looked, she felt like she was missing out on her larger calling. And upon a closer look, she discovered she wasn’t alone in this experience. Successful women all over the globe were yearning to discover their magic, their unique contribution to the world, become more of who they were, and make a big impact. It led her to create “Feminine Power” — a framework to unlock our true gifts and a method for unleashing our magic. On Glambition Radio, Claire shares how to start tapping into your own personal power and bring it out more strongly into the world. The Feminine Power teachings are serving women in more than 100 countries from Asia, Europe, South America, and the U.S, impacting more than a million women around the world. And over 30,000 have graduated from Claire’s online courses, transformational coaching, and leadership certifications. She is also co-founder and president of the transformational education company Evolving Wisdom which ranked on the Inc. 500 list in recent years and hosted spiritual teachers such as Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsh, and Jean Houston. If you think about it, the gravity of Claire’s work is immense for our day and time. Our generation of women, right now, is the FIRST in all of recorded history to have opportunities beyond survival. We are now for the first time able to not only create the life that we want, but create one that impacts others. So if you’re feeling that immense yearning to be more and do more, it makes total sense. We dive into what needs to happen to bring forward the greatness that's within you in our Glambition Radio interview. On the show, we discuss: How Claire came to create Feminine Power out of everything falling apart in her life How to discover YOUR zone of greatness — the key to your success The delight (and agony) of being an “early popper” in the evolution of women The 8 areas of self-actualization for women who are feeling the impulse to express their higher human potential What YOU can do now to finally bring together all you’re thinking and feeling into a new light and new context On this episode of Glambition Radio, Claire and I also talk about the frustrations that come with being a leader and we have a laugh over how it’s a REALLY good thing to have “high quality problems”. ;) I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode so listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now.  Alex Friedman, Co-Founder of LOLA — Glambition Radio Episode 113 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 41:49

She’d never planned to create the first-ever *organic tampon subscription service*, but it made complete sense. I mean, why hadn’t someone done this already? That’s what Alex Friedman and her cofounder Jordana Kier thought in 2015, so they decided to go for it, even though they weren’t quite sure how at first. And Alex shares their story, step by step, as my guest on this week’s #GlambitionRadio. Our periods are something we don’t think about much. They’re just a monthly inconvenience we deal with for the majority of our lives. And once we find the products and brands we like, we typically continue to use them for decades. But there’s one small problem… The FDA does NOT require companies to tell you what’s actually IN your tampons and pads. And studies show there’s some scary stuff in there, including possible carcinogens. For such a heavy-use product that you’re actually putting inside your body repeatedly, going organic makes sense. While there were other natural feminine care lines in existence, the LOLA gals decided to create a NEW model by offering their own brand of organic tampons, liners, and pads via a monthly subscription service. You choose your own customized assortment, and it’s delivered discreetly to your door every month. There are no commitments, and you can change your orders or cancel anytime. Boom. Alex and Jordana have raised over $11 million in funding just in the last two years, and LOLA has been named to Entrepreneur's 2016 100 Brilliant Companies list and CNBC's 2017 Upstart 25 list. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Alex tells us why it was time to take on the feminine-care industry giants, how LOLA is changing the cultural conversation about periods, and what the company is doing to empower girls and women with everything they need for a lifetime of proactive and informed decisions about their reproductive health. On the show, we discuss: Turning periods from a sometimes taboo topic into an open and honest discussion. (And what women say to Alex when they let their opinions loose!) Teaching Vagina 101 to male dominated boardrooms. (It wasn’t easy to persuade investors who don’t understand periods. One pitch involved a demo of a tampon in glass of water!)  The First Period Kit you wish you had, and the single dads who asked LOLA to create it. (This blew me away – what a great idea.) Creating a product that also invites a lifetime of brand loyalty. (I have a feeling that once a girl or woman goes LOLA, they’ll stay LOLA until it’s over.) And, I share my own humorous story on the moment I realized something surprising about the tampons in Australia. ;) On this episode of Glambition Radio, Alex also gave out a special promo code just for my listeners – enter “Glambition” at www.mylola.com to get 60% OFF your first month of LOLA. (I’m going to use it myself!) It’s another powerful episode, so head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review! If you enjoy what I share in this episode, please leave a review and comment on iTunes. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
