Farnoosh Torabi, Financial Expert — Glambition Radio Episode 112 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:27

This new-generation money expert isn’t going to tell you how to clip coupons or save money on gas. But she IS about learning to be smart with money and enjoy a “rich” life. Her audience is resonating with it, by way of her bestselling books including “When She Makes More”, to her chart-topping “So Money” podcast (which I’ll be a guest on in two weeks), to her monthly column in “O Magazine” and past TV shows on CNBC and other networks. Farnoosh was the daughter of Iranian immigrants. She worked hard to earn her master’s degree, and then was living in NYC, saddled with $30,000 in student loans, and making $18 an hour at her first job. Coincidentally (or maybe not… in the grand destiny of things) the job was fact checking at Money magazine. While seeking advice on how to climb out of debt while living in one of the most expensive cities in the world, Farnoosh discovered that NO ONE was speaking to her generation about money. She realized our country was filled with people like her – young, thirsty professionals who were ambitious but just didn't know how to deal with day-to-day money issues, much less make educated decisions to secure a healthy financial future. And they didn’t want to listen to an older generation of money gurus or out of touch financial planners. ----> I love how she SAW the opportunity to be this “expert” from an early age, and then, as you’ll hear on the show, she simply plotted out how to get there, and then kept moving forward.  On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Farnoosh shares the stories that turned her from a near-intern to a personal finance authority who now owns a lot of the next generation media domain.  On the show, we discuss: How Farnoosh found her niche and positioned herself as an expert, step by step How she got her “So Money” podcast up to 100,000 downloads a MONTH as soon as possible, and continues to use it to break the ranks How Farnoosh gets guests like Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki, Jillian Michaels, and Tim Gunn to open up about their financial perspectives, money failures, and habits. (I’ll be in her hot seat on June 12!) A candid discussion on what inspired her book “When She Makes More” and our own journeys around being the breadwinners of our families  The difference between making money with what you do vs. making money from what you know. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Farnoosh and I also talk financial bandwidth, mute buttons, and investing in self-care. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode.  Jennifer Maggiore, founder and CEO of Red Balloon Social Media — on Glambition Radio Episode 111 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:52

We can’t put it down. We depend on it. And our kids will never know a world without it. There are two billion social media users today, and we’re expected to reach nearly three billion by 2020. And only a handful of us saw its impact coming. My client Jennifer Maggiore was one of the few who got it right away. First, years ago, she put the new media to work when she took a women’s racing apparel line online after selling it under a tent at the racetrack, and built it into a business she eventually sold. Today Jennifer is founder and CEO of Red Balloon Social Media, an award-winning digital agency that designs and executes media campaigns that alter the course, increase the revenues, and change the conversation for major brands as well as small businesses.  But not without some twists and turns, including major medical issues for both herself and her son, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at only age two. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, you’ll hear her story that led her to starting her current acclaimed business as well as the insights along the way that put a laser focus on her priorities. On the show, we discuss: The original online experiments Jen did – including Craigslist ads and even working pro bono – to get her social media business off the ground. (I love how she thought out of the box.) Jen’s near miss with an unmistakable sign from the universe. (Spoiler Alert: a lost shoe, soccer game, and red balloon told her “to go for it”.) The recent BIG social media fails by United, McDonalds, and Pepsi, and why these companies still just aren’t “getting it” Social media 101 elements that even everyday, successful businesses are messing up (translation=lost $$$) The moments that push us forward (even when they appear as the last thing you ever want to see)! The “next move syndrome” and why need to bathe in our achievements along the way (I’m a victim of this myself) On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio Jen and I mix sound social media advice with how we enjoy the business journey every day. NOTE: Jen also talks candidly about the worst few days of her life and how they led to her biggest transformation. The story of how she and her family dealt with the diagnosis of her toddler son and his remarkable recovery is both heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. On this episode of Glambition Radio, we also chat about the joys and guilts of coffee pods, readying ourselves for A.I., and a new tagline we created called “bold, empowered, and a little bit slutty” — it’s up for sale if you’d like it. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  Keri Murphy, CEO, Inspired Living — on Glambition Radio Episode 110 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 55:54

She said her lines, they said “thank you”, and she left in tears. She’d waited in line for over three hours in a bikini to audition for a potential job hosting a TV travel show. And she was emotional — not because she performed poorly, but because at that moment she knew she would NEVER again put herself in a position like this, where someone else decided her destiny. From that moment on, Keri Murphy’s life began to shift, because she owned it. Not that she hadn’t already made some incredible moves. She’d already gone from furniture store salesgirl to interior decorator at age 23. And she bought her hometown modeling agency when she was 27 (which nearly ended in bankruptcy – but it was still one of the best things she’d ever done, as she explains on the show). But once Keri claimed her destiny that day in LA, magical things began to happen. Today, she’s CEO of Inspired Living, leading thousands of women to step into their brilliance by owning their power and platforms. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Keri and I walk through each level of her brilliant choices (even those that were hard lessons), and what it’s amounted to today. On the show, we discuss: The mistake we make by waiting for opportunities to be handed to us instead of creating our own The distinction between selling an image and manifesting your best self online (the you be you element) The phone call Keri got in 2008 that led her to jump on a plane to work in New Zealand the following week to teach some wild stuff The energy of money – how your investing out and receiving in flow through the same space (Keri and I are living proof of this concept) The importance of live events – meeting face-to-face changes your destiny How Kevin Sorbo (“Hercules!”) helped lead Keri to hosting her first show online (originally by way of the Golf Channel) BONUS: How a disastrous stint teaching STEP in the 90s taught me (Ali) how to ‘own a room’ forever more Keri and I have quite a wild chat on this week’s episode of Glambition Radio. VERY IMPORTANT: You’ll also hear about Keri’s upcoming Brilliant Event in LA on June 4-6, 2017, which I’ll be speaking at. We’d love you to come join us! Use code Ali100 for a special $100 off at www.thebrilliantevent.com This special gathering of success-minded women will be led by Keri, myself, and four other mavens who have multi-million dollar brands — designer Jennifer Adams, “Business Chicks” founder Emma Isaacs, home décor maven Dayna Decker, and LA Sparks president Christine Simmons. We’ll talk positioning, growing, and scaling your business to create influence, impact, and income. It’s at a very accessible price point and at a beautiful waterfront venue. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Keri and I also talk about yearning for Barbizon at 13, camera jitters, being a hot mess, and how she keeps her house so clean while raising her beautiful baby daughter Lauren on her own. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later).  ‘BOLD Ways to Break Away From the Pack’ — Glambition Radio Episode 109 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:11

Everyone is peeing in the pool, and it’s time to get out. If you’ve been in this game a long time (at least several years) and think back to when you started your business, it was likely just you and a few select others in the pool (your industry, or “space” within). You were splashing around, having a good time… business was great. Everything was new, and fun. There was a good DJ and great drinks. Then, little by little, the party filled up. Suddenly you felt more people next to you, and the water got greasy. Space was getting competitive. And standards started to lower. The good dance music morphed into bad dubstep. The bodyguards stopped checking ID, so anyone could get in. And then it hits you – you’re trapped inside one of those giant daytime Vegas pool parties, in a sea of bodies, and no one is visiting the restroom. Ewwwwwwwwwww. But hope is near. I’m here to help lift you out of the mess, and into your own clean body of water. It’s time to BREAK AWAY FROM THE PACK, and I’m sharing how on this week’s Glambition Radio. It starts with how you think, and ends with what you do. Positioning is a vast topic, but on this show I’m going to cover six key areas you should start thinking about asap. The first three are about ENERGETIC separation you need to impart immediately to gain strength and perspective. And the second three are PRACTICAL steps you need to take to position yourself up and away from all the competition. Get ready to listen a few times or take some notes, because I’m going to cover… when it’s time to ditch the exact formula that made you successful (this sounds completely counterintuitive, but hear me out) how studying Picasso’s teenage years gave me permission to break even more rules in my business evolution why those launch “recipes” just don’t work for some folks (contrary to what many marketing gurus prescribe – they say “just do what I say and you’ll get the best results”, which doesn’t always work and I explain why) why your mastery is now not only more important than ever, but more important than ever to convey in your marketing and much more. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode, and my 6 BOLD ways to break out of the pack. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review! If you enjoy what I share in this episode, please leave a review and comment on iTunes. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Danielle LaPorte, author of “White Hot Truth” — Glambition Radio Episode 108 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 52:00

Ladies and gentlemen, the fantastical* Danielle LaPorte. She and I share many colleagues and followers, but we’ve NEVER actually had a conversation before, let alone one like this. Perhaps it was avoided on a galactic level because our high vibrations would collide and cause some type of sudden supernova in an alternate universe. I guess we’ll find out on the other side. But anyway, after listening to her edgy, practical, and compassionate wisdom on this week’s show, even you dedicated truth seekers will feel like you can tap into YOUR deeper truth and take on anything. [*Fantastical: a form of fantastic that has been pumped up with quite a bit of kick ass (Urban Dictionary)] You may know Danielle as modern philosopher, bestselling author,  and member of Oprah’s Super Soul 100. However, did you know this maven whose site boasts over 5 MILLION visitors a month is a former Body Shop executive, business strategist, and even ran a Washington, D.C. think tank. (And all without finishing university. Oh the academic horror.) So, how did she become… DANIELLE LAPORTE? You’ll have to listen to find out as we trace her journey from there to here and beyond. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Danielle tells us how she found her authentic life by never asking permission and boldly owning her opinions on business, life choices, and spirituality. And why the time is right for her brand new book, White Hot Truth: Clarity for keeping it real on your spiritual path – from one seeker to another. On the show, we discuss: The epidemic of women not giving themselves permission to want what they want How to wade through the current wave of online “Disciple-shit” (false prophets and gurus) Why it’s perfectly fine for you to NOT read the reviews for your book (or those comments on social media that keep you awake) How it’s painful to not be liked, but even more painful to be misunderstood (in fact, Danielle instantly nailed why a situation I shared on the show was so painful at the time)  The high road takes you longer to get where you’re going sometimes, but it’s worth not selling out How you can have an “open, gentle heart with a big F-ing fence” (from her book) You’ll also hear how Danielle was ousted from a company she cofounded — and how she chose to handle it — on our Glambition Radio interview here. She explains how her new book White Hot Truth is a raw, honest, funny, and wise gift to spiritual freedom. Danielle’s critical but kind voice examines all the ways we try to improve ourselves – and asks tough questions about the spiritual growth industry. The ones we’re afraid to ask. (Spoiler alert: no answers…you have to find your own truth!) On this episode of Glambition Radio, Danielle and I discuss the cliché of Kombucha, negative comments that stick in your brain, and what a think tank really does. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  Geneen Roth, author of “Women, Food, and God” — Glambition Radio Episode 107 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:02:12

Geneen Roth spent the first 30 years of her life in what she describes as “diet hell”, certain that being thin would finally make her happy. It almost killed her. When she took a closer look at her relationship with food, Geneen discovered more about herself than she ever imagined. And she’s dedicated the last three decades to helping women transform the way they think about food…and themselves. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Geneen and I discuss the rollercoaster ride of gut-wrenching lessons she’s learned and embraces — in self-image, love, and money. (Both Oprah and Bernie Madoff play big roles in her highs and lows, which she reveals on the show.) Geneen spent years thinking that everything wrong in her life would be fixed if she could change the shape of her body. The diets started when she was 11 years old and escalated to fasting, anorexia, and bulimia. Self-loathing permeated every thought – until she just couldn’t take it anymore. Her hunger for food was really about something so much deeper – and she realized every woman she knew faced the same struggle. Hear why being compared to Michelangelo changed everything for Geneen in our Glambition Radio interview here. The author of nine books, Geneen became a pioneering voice in the link between compulsive eating and spiritual issues beyond food, weight and body image. Geneen is the author of nine books, including the #1 New York Times bestsellers Women Food, and God; Lost and Found; and When Food Is Love.  Geneen has appeared on many national television shows including: Oprah’s “Super Soul Sunday” (which she’s making a RE-APPEARANCE on this coming Sunday, April 30!), The Oprah Show, 20/20, The NBC Nightly News, The View, The Today Show, and Good Morning America. Today, Geneen does her best operating live, getting deeply personal during her weeklong Women, Food and God Retreats. (It’s described as “magical” by her students. One even ranked it a close second to the life-changing experience of childbirth.) Geneen says it’s also about more than just food – the way we treat love and money too is all a reflection of our deepest held beliefs about ourselves. And the amount of joy, abundance, and pain we have (or think we’re allowed to have) in our lives. She explains how on the show. Hear Geneen and I debate whether “body shaming” really does exist on the show. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Geneen and I also discuss background noise, boycotting beauty magazines, and setting goals while detaching from the results. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  Kathryn Minshew and Alex Cavoulacos, founders of TheMuse.com and authors of “The New Rules of Work”, on Glambition Radio Episode 106 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:46

My favorite kind of business story is one where women create the product or service they want for themselves but it doesn’t exist. Enter Kathryn Minshew and Alex Cavoulacos, co-founders of TheMuse.com, who decided to turn the traditional job search site into something much more personal, relevant, and effective. And they’ve done it so well that their site has been used by over 50 million jobseekers just in its first few years of existence. (And they’ve raised nearly $30 million in funding.) The Muse offers a behind-the-scenes look at job openings, personalized career advice from prominent experts, and profiles hundreds of companies. It also helps companies create and market a strong employment brand to recruit the best talent out there. Kathryn and Alex also have a new book out called The New Rules of Work: The Modern Playbook for Navigating Your Career. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Kathryn and Alex share the professional and personal choices that helped them find their power and land them on the “Forbes 30 Under 30 in Media” and SmartCEO’s Future50 lists. Kathryn and Alex met when they were working together as management consultants in New York City. One afternoon over a glass of wine they compared notes about their career paths, what they learned, and the people who influenced their choices. They realized there was no single place you could go to navigate your career – which was unbelievable, since choosing the right career path, is one of the most important decisions in a person’s life. And on top of that, all the job search websites, well, suck. You could type in detailed skillsets and the exact type of position you want, and you would still be delivered ridiculous matches. (You’ll love their story on this one!) So they created their own destination platform to provide career advice, resources, and experts to help people acquire the skills and the confidence they need to be successful. Hear how Kathryn and Alex first tested their concept for The Muse before getting funding in our Glambition Radio interview here. Between Kathryn and Alex’s real world experience and feedback from The Muse users, it then became clear that the old ways of approaching a career don’t work today and a new “rulebook” was needed. New technologies, video chats, remote work, and even the way we write resumes and do job interviews, have fundamentally changed – so they wrote The New Rules of Work, which we discuss on the show. On this episode of Glambition Radio, you’ll hear us talk about mapping, experimentation, and sticking to your values. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  ‘STOP the Online Insanity!’ — Glambition Radio Episode 105 with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:02

Can I share something with you that I haven’t really shared publicly yet? I am seriously concerned for the droves of new women emerging from the “get online and build your business” programs right now. Two years ago I wrote a post called “My Prediction of the HUGE ‘Launch Bubble’ That’s Coming Fast… and How to Surpass It”. Turns out it was a bit ahead of its time, because I thought things couldn’t get any worse. They have. It’s time to STOP THE ONLINE INSANITY, and I’m addressing it this week on Glambition Radio. And while most of my perspective is around the areas of coaching, consulting, online training, and general thought leader “guru-dom”, this epidemic is something to consider no matter your industry. This episode is brand new and I share analysis and commentary I’ve only shared with my private clients, up until now. Here’s the rub: As a founder of this industry (or “The Godmother”, as one of my clients dubbed me), who launched her first ebook online in 2002 and since 2005 has taught thousands of business owners how to get online and use the Internet to market and leverage new income streams from their expertise, I am truly speechless at times these days when I see what’s going on. First, let’s look at the complete market saturation. You can’t log online now without being nearly assaulted by ad after ad of “coaches” and “consultants” selling something to you. Because now it’s so easy to get online and sell stuff, everyone is getting online and… selling stuff. There’s no barrier to entry. Get some templates, spend a few bucks on ads, and your façade is ready. And in most cases, it’s the blind leading the blind. Social media has been the main vehicle for this, which I address on my show. But there’s a stranger phenomenon happening, especially for women, and I’m dubbing it OVERSTYLIZATION. I’m seeing many women take their business online (or what they think is a business) after taking a course that taught them how, and instead of thinking through how they are going to make money they are instead obsessed with having the coolest images, website, and overall brand. And OH those lifestyle shots. Cue the “I’m walking around with shopping bags and talking on my mobile phone after getting full hair and makeup, so aren’t I a cool coach?” photos. (And I’ve seen some male equivalents that have sent me rolling in hysterics.) My concern is... many of these poor gals are cluelessly going into tons of debt to get it all looking the way they think it HAS to be. Focusing on the sizzle ahead of (and instead of) the steak. I recently met one newbie – lovely girl — who confided in me her “launch” expenses had already topped $25,000 (all put on credit cards), and she still wasn’t sure what her income model was. Take that in… Still. Wasn’t. Sure. What. Her. Income. Model. Was. But wow her site looked cool. And so did she. She’d just done everything her "coach" told her to do. Including renting out a mansion for a photo shoot and getting hair extensions. All this supposedly necessary for a "business coaching" site. You can’t make this stuff up. I share more about this story on the show. Listen, I love my glam too—I’ve done it all, and worn it all, and had a lot of fun. And yes you do need a few good photos. But you don’t NEED this stuff to launch your business. I understand that often women get excited about their big “coming out” online and debuting their personal brand. For many women, going into business for themselves IS their ultimate personal expression, and they are finally stepping into the person they know they could be. But I’m even seeing many savvy women with impressive business resumes accidentally throw it out the window (on purpose or by accident),

Kylie Hammond, Founder & CEO of Director Institute on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:47

Have you ever thought about grooming yourself to sit on the board of a company? Or assemble a board for your own enterprise? Maybe you haven’t… yet. But Australian entrepreneur Kylie Hammond wants YOU, because she’s giving the world of boards a global makeover. The image of stodgy old white men sitting stiffly in a smoky conference room is not only outdated, it’s ineffective, and Kylie is leading the charge to bring women, millennials, and modern technology into the picture. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Kylie shares why she’s made it her mission to break barriers in the boardroom as the CEO of the fastest growing network of director talent, Director Institute: Next Generation Directors. How could YOU be in demand? Studies are now proving that boards and executive teams that feature a mix of both male and female members perform better. Having board members from differing skillsets, backgrounds, and even generations can make a world of difference in the performance of a company. Also, the voices of women – the world’s most influential consumers – are vital to business survival. Diversity isn’t just good sense, it’s good business. When Kylie’s parents lost their money to badly run and corrupt companies, her path to change the corporate status quo was set in motion. Her early career was in human resources, then she worked her way up to recruiting senior executives and CEOs for global corporations like Cisco, PeopleSoft, and Deloitte. Her 20 years of finding the right executives for the job reinforced the early lesson she learned from her parents’ financial downfall – that old school thinking of who you need in the boardroom doesn’t work anymore – and CEOs must refresh their talent pools. Hear how you can help Kylie break up the old-boy network in our Glambition Radio interview here. Kylie has been pushing for boardroom diversity for years – particularly the addition of women - because she’s seen first hand that conversations between people from different skill sets and different walks of life lead to better corporate decisions. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Kylie and I talk mission critical networking, why women must take a seat at the boardroom table, and how YOU can get involved. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  Sheryl O’Loughlin, author of “Killing It: An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Keeping Your Head Without Losing Your Heart” on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 47:50

Her resume reads like an ambitious woman’s dream: CEO of Clif Bar, cofounder and CEO of Plum Organics, and now founder and CEO of REBBL super herb beverages. But what I loved MOST about Sheryl O’Loughlin—and why I wanted her on the show – is she tells it like it is: your personal life is often the hidden cost of building an uber-successful career or business. Boom. Wow. Finally someone is talking about this. Sheryl almost paid the ultimate price when she started her first company, ending in a downward spiral of an eating disorder. But, when she learned to balance the demands of her growing business, her family’s needs, and her own mental and physical health, she was able to build Plum Organics into multi-million dollar business. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Sheryl gives us a close-up look at the raw experiences behind the wisdom of her new book, “Killing It: An Entrepreneur's Guide to Keeping Your Head Without Losing Your Heart.” At one point Sheryl’s life was totally immersed in the world of entrepreneurship. She and her husband, Patrick, had committed their life savings to his and her start-ups. When Patrick’s business failed, the family was plunged into overwhelming debt – and the reality of building a business hit them hard. For entrepreneurs, what happens to the business happens to the family. They gave up the cool house and all the usual accoutrements that come with success. They had a long hard talk with their kids about the changes that needed to happen. There were some very dark days - but in the end, they bet their future on Sheryl’s business, Plum Organics. And when Plum took off, it changed everything. Hear why Sheryl believes the power of business can create positive change for the world in her the Glambition Radio interview here. Sheryl knows first hand the personal and professional stakes of building a business – she’s learned the hard way – and has made it a life goal to teach other entrepreneurs how to invest in themselves. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Sheryl and I bond over the business of bold humility, epic journeys, and baby food squirt pouches. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode.  JJ Virgin, author of “Miracle Mindset” on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 50:58

My friend and past client JJ Virgin, fitness expert and four-time NY Times best-selling author, accomplishes everything she sets out to do. But, when a brutal hit-and-run car accident threatened her son’s life, she turned into an unstoppable force. Miraculously, JJ stared down every mother’s worst nightmare and saved her son’s life. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, JJ and I talk intimately about her family’s pain, standing up to doctors, and why she was compelled to open up in her new book, “Miracle Mindset: A Mother, Her Son, & Life’s Hardest Lessons.”    The first night at the hospital, doctors gave Grant less than a 25% chance of survival and diagnosed irreparable brain damage. JJ’s instincts told her to overrule the doctors and put up a fight. Over the years, she explored all types of alternative medicine and brought in every positive thinking medical professional – until Grant beat the odds. You’ll hear how JJ faced the unthinkable, tapped into her inner strength, and brought about a miracle. Hear JJ reveal the key ingredients of the mindset muscle in her Glambition Radio interview here. JJ was hesitant to share the personal details of Grant’s recovery. But, the more she wrote and the deeper she went into her story, the more she learned about herself and the development of her own “Miracle Mindset.”  On this episode of Glambition Radio, JJ and I discuss the positivity of being vulnerable, scaring yourself, and the ripple effect. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So click play above to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,

Agapi Stassinopoulos, author of “Wake Up to the Joy of You” on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:34

When I first met Agapi Stassinopoulos in New York City in 1999, I saw instantly she was one of those women who light up a room. Her joy was contagious and inspiring. And her new book shares how she lives – wait, no... chooses to live – each and every day. So we had to get her on the show! On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Agapi shares the wisdom and personal journey behind her new book, “Wake Up to the Joy of You: 52 Meditations and Practices for a Calmer, Happier Life.“ It’s a transformational guide to giving up what doesn’t work and creating the life you really want. Agapi and her sister Arianna Huffington were brought up in Greece, a culture that celebrates life. But, it wasn’t until Agapi was a struggling actress in New York City that she discovered the first step towards living a life of pure joy – when a stranger told her to ‘stop waiting for her big break and make things happen for herself’. The words changed Agapi’s life and set her on a spiritual journey to create a life filled with grace, meaning, zest, peace, and joy. Hear Agapi describe the bedtime ritual that makes her grateful to wake up every morning in her Glambition Radio interview here. Agapi has written four books and inspires people all over the world with her warmth and wisdom – but it’s her mother’s words that still drive her towards happiness every day:  “Don’t miss the moment.” She has learned that regret is the biggest hurdle to joy, but if you make yourself present, then life is magnificent. On this episode of Glambition Radio, Agapi and I bond over the joy of singing our own song, talk emotional sidestepping, and connect to the magic and stardust in our souls.  ’Renegade Leadership 2017’ on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:43

It’s our 100th episode of Glambition Radio, and it was overdue for me to do a SOLO show. (And this one is really meaty, so get ready to listen a few times or take some notes.) As I write this, our 45th president has just taken office. I know you’re sick of hearing about the election, as I am, so let me be clear this show is NOT about that. It’s about THIS… There are external circumstances you can’t control. But there are MANY – SO MANY – “circumstances” you can. In fact, you create them yourself. And those are the ones that really matter in the end to you and those you lead. For women, leadership is an inside job. It starts with ourselves, our self worth, our principles. That’s the basics. From there, I encourage you to go RENEGADE this year. What? A renegade is a person who breaks with established customs. Or behaves in a rebelliously unconventional manner. It’s time to start questioning. Everything. I explain what I mean on the show. And from there, power up to lead – I tell you how. (And my advice may surprise you.) And then it’s time to use your voice strongly. No more holding out or hiding out. The world needs you more than ever. Those are my 3 steps to building upon your own Renegade Leadership model. Whether you’re leading a movement, heading a company, or ushering your family into a better life. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, I share: the 4 areas in your life and business you should start questioning if what you’re doing is right why support (and not just in your business) is one of the most important factors in powering up to lead how to link making money to things that really matter to you, so you can gain financial power this year what you need to do MORE of each day than spend on Facebook how to have more human and intelligent conversations around issues that we need to dialogue about right now Hear my 3 steps and these points now in this Glambition Radio show. I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later). Love and Success,     P.S. I would love your review!  Jessica Bennett, author of “Feminist Fight Club” on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 37:30

If you’re tired of “mansplainers”, “man-terrupters”, and “bro-propriation”, have I got a gal for you. Jessica Bennet and her “Feminist Fight Club” movement is a humorous but powerful take on sexism in the workplace and what women can do about it. (And what a perfect way to start off our 2017 year of Glambition Radio, given the current political climate.) While we often think of feminism as the angry 60s and 70s equality movements, today’s feminism has evolved to a new level to match the sexism we still experience at times – a bit more subtle and harder to navigate. Enter Jessica, who today writes regularly for The New York Times. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, Jessica and I discuss the specific damage of subtle sexism, why complaining gets us nowhere, and action steps and quick moves from her new book, “Feminist Fight Club: An Office Survival Manual for a Sexist Workplace”. My favorite strategy? The verbal chicken. Hear Jessica explain how to implement it here in our Glambition Radio interview. So how did the club begin? It was only ten years ago when Jessica moved to Manhattan and got her first job writing for Newsweek. She was frustrated to see men at the magazine getting better assignments and promotions, while the women on staff were struggling just to be heard and treated as equal. Something had to change. So, once a month Jessica would get together with other young women from businesses all over the city to share sexist job stories and form strategies to battle their common foes. And the “Feminist Fight Club” was born. Jessica also writes for Sheryl Sandberg’s nonprofit site LeanIn.org, and along with Sheryl she’s cofounded and curated the “Lean In” collection of stock imagery – finally giving us powerful, real, and diverse images to use of women in marketing and business communications. (No more women in black suits balancing suitcases and babies.) I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode.  Wendy Powell of the MuTu System on Glambition Radio with Ali Brown | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:49

After you give birth, the wondrous time spent getting to know the joys of baby is accompanied with getting to know your body again. It’s forever changed, inside and out. And while we are often told to just “bootcamp” our bodies back to normal again, there remains a disconnect that hasn’t been addressed fully and in a proven method—until Wendy Powell came along and created her MuTu System. On this week’s episode of Glambition Radio, you’ll hear Wendy’s story of why and how she came to care so much about postpartum health and emotional wellbeing. After walking in my door two years ago as a client in my Premier group, Wendy has forever changed how I view my body after childbirth, helping me personally in many ways, which I talk about on our interview. Her MuTu System helps moms tighten their “mummy tummy” and diastasis recti, heal their core and pelvic floor, get strong, fit and truly body confident inside and out. And not only have 25,000 women all over the world used her program, but Wendy has stepped into the unexpected role of being an international leader in postpartum recovery and exercise. And being the owner of a million-dollar-plus business she runs from home with her husband and two kids.  On this episode, hear how she broke through her first million while coaching with me in my Premier program! Wendy's postpartum exercise program is recommended by medical experts, physical therapists, physiotherapists and clinical nutritionists across the globe, and she has now won a number of prestigious awards in media, business and health fields internationally. And what I love the most about Wendy, which you’ll hear come through in this interview, is how she takes on life with her family and insists on living a life less ordinary – traveling the world with her kids, doing things off the beaten path, and making sure to enjoy it all. You’re going to LOVE Wendy Powell! And I know you’ll get a lot out of this episode. So head over to iTunes and listen to this episode of Glambition Radio now (or download for later).
