The Rifleman show

The Rifleman

Summary: "A Rifleman never stops learning, a Rifleman never stops teaching. A Rifleman continues to seek ways to to protect the freedom the Founding Fathers left us, to improve himself, his home and family, his community, his state and his country, everyday of his life. A Rifleman adapts, a Rifleman overcomes and a Rifleman persists. This is not just some fancy gilded rhetoric we throw around like popcorn and pennies. This is the code we live by here. There is nothing wrong, no matter how often the mass of talking heads tells you it is wrong, or outdated, or corny, stupid and cavemanish, with having a code to live by in your life. Modern Americans have forgotten their code. They have forgotten how to be Americans. We are here to help them remember." Scout The Revolutionary War Veterans Association's Appleseed Project is dedicated to teaching an intense rifle marksmanship and safety course. But the RWVA Appleseed Project is much more than a marksmanship organization and much more than a social organization. It is a direct link back to America's Founding Fathers and instruction about what the duties of a "Rifleman" are today in America. A Rifleman adapts, a Rifleman overcomes and a Rifleman persists. Find out what it means to be called a "Rifleman" and what it takes to live a "Rifleman's Life".

 Washington Crosses The Delaware - Dec 16,2011 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:02:00

It is only a couple of weeks from, and 230 plus years after Washington's historic crossing of the Delaware River in order to attack the towns of Princeton and Trenton on Christmas and New Years. This was the turning point of the war. The future of America looked bleak with multiple defeats and with no real direction, other than a constant retreat, for our forces. The American cause was saved from possible failure by just a handfull of the American troops serving under Washington.

To Be, or Not To Be, that is the Question - Dec 09,2011 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:06:00

For years I did not think I could do anything to alter the direction our nation was going in. I beat the top of the television, threw things at it, yelled at it, yelled at the radio shows I listened to. And it did nothing to change the way things were going. So, what could I do? I did not want to go in the "Taxi Driver" direction but what was left? I lived out in the middle of nowhere and worked all day seven days a week. So how could I help? How could I plug myself into the equation and make a difference? Then one day I read Fred's column in SGN and I got plugged in. That was almost six years ago now and Appleseed has really grown. It is beginning to be what it was meant to be and it will continue to grow and fill it's place in American History. It is not a perfect organization, I do not know of any "perfect" organizations, but it is the best thing going to get folks off the couch and taking part in their lives and in maintaining the rights and freedoms we enjoy by being citizens of this nation. Don't you want to be a part of this? Don't you want to be able to tell your grandkids about being a part of an organization that helped secure our liberty? I know I do.

 Newton's First Law of Motion - Dec 02,2011 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:01:00

Objects in motion tend to stay in motion, objects at rest teend to remain sedentary. No different than Americans, right? Except that the majority of the energy expended by people is not directional or at least not consistently directional. There is so much waste of energy. And then there are the vast numbers of folks who the second part of the above sentence refers to. These are the folks who "remain sedentary". Sitting on their couches or watching tv and expennding no energy. Where do you fall in this scale? From full speed ahead an damn the torpedos to the folks sitting on their couches with a light covering of moss and vines. How can you maximise your potential for getting things done?

 The Battle of Cowpens - Oct 21,2011 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:05:00

Morgan was coming up on a meeting with Tarelton in South Carolina. With his back to the Broad River, Morgan knew a retreat across the river could be disasterous. ALso, if he retreated he would very well lose his militia, but he was afraid of the militia possibly panicking again as had occurred at Camden. When he solved this problem at Cowpens it would turn out to be the best fought battle the Patriots ever fought. Greene would try these same tactics again twice in different battles but never with the same degree of success. Join us for discussion of COwpens, from the mouths of the men who were there, and also for discussion of current Appleseed business as well as as highlights from The Pecos Run and Gun last weekend in Pecos Texas.

The Six Steps to Firing The Shot - Oct 14,2011 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:55:00

The Appleseed Project has developed a system of shooting instruction that is fantastic, but we did not develop the system from scratch, we just distilled down the iformation from 500 years of firearms usage and present it to you in a way that is easy to wrap your mind around it. Join us tonight as we discuss The Six Steps to firing The Shot. This is the second of several parts of the instruction we present at Appleseeds. The first part is building a proper shooting position and covers slings and positional steady hold factors. There are several other considerations you will need to know in order to make the shot after mastering the six steps, such as Natural Point of Aim, IMC, windage and come-ups, but tonight we focus on The SixSteps.
