Once we had finished that we took a look at the hot button news story of the day: The casting of Ben Affleck as Batman. Finally we put our spoiler tighty-whities on and engaged in a thoughtful discussion about the first two episodes of the final season of Breaking Bad.   This was a thought provoking and insightful episode, and I’m not afraid to admit it. Episode 105: Biebergasm : In this Biebertastic episode of the Braingasm Podcast we talk about the man, the myth, the Bieber: Justin Bieber. We Biebgan as we do every week with Ben doing his impression of Adele.  After that we talked about celebrities who disappear when not promoting projects, Zombieland, Saturday Night Live…. And then we Biebgan talking about Justin Bieber. Now you hear “we talked about Justin Bieber” and I’m sure you immediately think WTF has happened to Ben and Cesca. I don’t blame you, I would have thought the same thing. However, you need to trust me that this is a worthwhile listen despite the fact that the topic in question is a retarded monkey puke stain.  To make it up to you Ben also did a mini-review of PACIFIC RIM.  This was a fun episode to record (but more so write the description for). All the feels… We began as we do every week with Ben correctly saying the episode number off the top ( After that we discussed our upcoming 100th episode and told the stories of some of our previous milestone episodes. After that Ben talked about his friend’s broken leg and why Tough Mudder can eat a bag of dicks.  …Then the feels came out.  What began as a discussion about the recent changes and layoffs from Spill.com somehow developed into a very candid and revealing discussion about some recent hardships that we ourselves have been dealing with. We talked about our recent “Winter Hiatus” and how close it was to being the end of the show entirely. We talked about what led up to the break, why it (in retrospect) was necessary for the survival of the show, and how it has affected us moving forward (all positive).  I would strongly suggest that if this is your first experience with the Braingasm podcast you listen to at least one previous episode prior to listening to this one. I think that while you will still possibly get some value out of this discussion it is not reflective of what we do on a regular basis. Episode 96: Creating Comics With Mike Gagnon: In this glossy covered instalment of the Braingasm Podcast we are sans Cesca but we have a super awesome guest in the form of maker of awesome independent comic books, Mike Gagnon (@themikegagnon).  We began as we do every week with Ben forgetting what episode number we are on… After that the boys discussed the perils of crossing the Burlington skyway and told the story of their introduction(s) to one another. The conversation then shifted to the trials and tribulations of being a local independent artist/comic. Mike unveiled a project that he is heavily involved in which gives people in this position access to a network of resources and services tailored to helping facilitate the thriving (and even survival) of up and coming talent (http://www.selfpubmag.com/).
