Episode 148: Obama Dick Pic: In this our 148th episode of the Braingasm podcast we talk about stardom, both old and new.  We began as we do every week with Ben enjoying it thoroughly and Cesca protesting the whole way through.  After that we talked about how weird it is to have fans and how we cope with it (hint: not well). Cesca told stories about some of the fan encounters that she had on previous ventures. Ben talked about why he prefers to have random fans, and not people he knows listen to the show. All that good stuff.  After that we talked about some of the most classic stars of yesteryear. We talked about James Dean and Marlon Brando’s Chester and Spike-esque relationship. How Ben has never really gotten into Elvis. How celebrities could get away with anything back in the day.  This was a fun, jaunty episode. Much lighter than our more recent outings. Episode 147: Pleasantly Surprising: In this our 147th episode of the Braingasm Podcast we give you a helping handful of infotainment. We began as we do every week with Ben telling Cesca that he pushed the wrong button, and nothing would be recorded this week.  After that we talked about tattoos, tattooing, some of the history of tattoos, tat-well you get the gist. Special shout out to the Stuff You Should Know podcast for providing the actual information for tonight’s conversation.  After that we got really cerebral, and talked about how your memory is actual an evil gnome that lives in your head and is lying to you at almost every moment of the day. In all seriousness we did get a bit heady (a-thank you), but we kept it fun and light and, dare I say, mind-blowing. Finally we talked about the ghost of Braingasm past and Braingasm future. We shared a clip from one of our favourite episodes of yesteryear, and Cesca teased her exciting new side project. Now with 100% less Ben (but he still gets half, check your contract). Episode 146: Bandsaws and Boomsticks: In this our 146th episode of the Braingasm podcast we explore the phenomenon of death by discussing all of the gnarly stuff that happens to your body once you can’t fight back. After that we talked about the impending release of Weird Al’s new album, and Cesca told the story of her electric 4th of July.  After that we dove deep into the past to talk about a game that deals with the even deeper past. We moved beyond the white light to talk about everything that happens to you after your soul ceases to sublet your internal organs. Cesca reveals more of her past as a funeral director, Ben and Cesca share their plans for how they want to be buried/entombed, and Ben talks to his children in the future. Episode 145: The Pen IS Mightier: In this our 145th episode of the Braingasm Podcast we talk about pens, Robin Thicke, and Cesca’s secret origin. We began as we do every week by talking about stuff and/or things. After that we talked about the World Cup, and America’s brief interest in it. We also talked about the most recent shit sandwich season of The Boondocks.  From there we transitioned to a lengthy conversation about pens…yes, you heard that right. We talked about the fine worlds of fine points, we got on the ball with ball points, and…more pen puns coming. We also talked about a cool podcast all about pens called the Pen Addict.  After that we talked briefly about Robin Thicke and his recent contro-crazy before Cesca dropped a bomb on Ben talking about her father. Episode 142: Zombie June-hem : In this our 142nd episode of the Braingasm podcast Ben gets tired of writing these descrip  We began as we do every week by blaming Ben for everything. After that we talked about the news, and the topic that is on the forefront of everyone’s minds at the moment. It’s a bit heavy, not gonna lie. But the rest of the episode is silly as shit so if you are in for the giggles, strap in. Kicking off the giggles, Ben tells the story of the recent Niagara’s Top Comic competition. He goes through the ups, the downs, and the extreme ups that are followed almost instantly by extreme downs. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions. Following that we talked about Electric Light Orchestra, and Cesca has enough. Women, right? (Ben is immediately beaten on the head). We also had a brief lecture on celebrity wieners with professor Ben, the foremost expert on the subject.  Closing out the show in style we dusted off a segment from Braingasms of old, Zombie May-hem. We talked about how the zombie genre has changed since the last zombie may-hem, which was almost three years ago. Suffice it to say that zombies are better than ever, and literally no one has gotten sick of them. As we close in on 150 we plan on incorporating a healthy dose of nostalgia. Gasm of Thrones: 4Chan Hates Canada: Just because HBO decided that it didn’t feel like putting out a new episode this week doesn’t mean we’re gonna stop podcasting! Their numerous cease and desist requests can’t crush our spirits. Without a Game of Thrones, Ben and Kurt decided to just turn on the recorder and find out what they wanted to talk about this week. It wasn’t hard, as getting them to stay on topic for a normal episode is a struggle unto itself. The topics were wide and varied. There was some discussion of Mad Men and Walking Dead, Dark Souls, Internet porn, Ben took a brief journey into the wretched hive of scum and villainy that is 4Chan, we talked about Katherine Heigl. Basically all of the topics that you would imagine would come up. Stay tuned next week for the big trial by combat episode. We began as we do every week with Ben and Cesca revealing what they think a “Normal job” is.  After that we talked about 70s punk rock, and how terrible Sid Vicious was at his job. After that Ben described his ideal version of the afterlife. Spoiler alert, it involves knowledge including quantities of poop. Then we talked about how facts can be twisted to prove literally anything.  Then we took a giant 180 and began talking about movies. Cesca (AND MATT!) discussed Godzilla. Ben talked about Neighbours and Amazing Spider-man 2 (WARNING SPOILER ALERT).  This segued beautifully into a conversation about comics in which Ben poked holes in every superpower he could think of before declaring how fantastic it would be to be Aquaman.  We are approaching episode 150, and that has made us all kinds of nostalgic.
