The Greek Sessions: Poolside in Santorini  First of 3 if all goes to plan. Not my most polished upload, it would need another two night sessions of Love and Care but it is not going to happen...I got tired of it by the time the Olympic started and as my close friends would know, I am strenuously competing in the Armchair event..  Pool side mix, going from 120 to 126 bpm, full of goodies, full of edits but sloppy at times. Moderately happy of my edits of "Conch" (top deep house from Spiritchaser) and “Do You Wanna” where I added beats synths and vocals. And From 10 to 14, I got where I wanted.. As to "Call My Name", DJ Meme cannot do anything wrong.. I still remember an event in Melbourne, where he kept us going for 3 hours, as a warmer for Dimitri from Paris, whom (patriotism aside) brought everyone to sleep in 20 minutes flat.. Not really promoting hard this set as a must hear/download.  It is now out of my system and I can go back to the TV and watch some more Olympic before Sunday.. Allez France!!  Xtian

The 2012 Pirate Bar Set    I am back in Greece in the magnificent island of Hydra but sadly for one day only. It is summer, I felt a sun-drenched, beach house set was “de rigueur”. I prepared 120 minutes of melodic chilled house, hoping to drop the set at the best bar in Greece., the Pirate Bar. As a “Pirate Bar” set is becoming a yearly fixture for me, get ready, close your eyes and picture THIS:   You start in the bliss of your hammock, shaded by a parasol, your skin softened by the Mediterranean sun. From the bliss of your afternoon rest, your head start shifting sensually to the right, to the left, with that distinctive shoulder roll. Your eyes still closed, you smile, you just smile to the music.. Lazily sipping your frappe, you notice your feet rhythmically bouncing to the measure of those summer beats. Incrementally, your feet, your hands, your soul cannot resist… You stand up, arch your back and just know that you should let the music use you. Your hands up in the air now lasciviously following the sound, you start dancing on your feet, light in your head, soaking in the pure hedonistic pleasure of the summer sun and summer grooves.   This is what happens at the Pirate Bar in Hydra… Go and see my friends Wendy, Zara, Zef and Takis and enjoy the very best hospitality Greece can offer.. The original is perfect but you all know my addiction to acapellas.. with Deeper Life continuing the Deep techie groove with a massive bassline. “Giving You The Light” (Shane D Remix)… this is the track that get’s you on your feet.. Perfect summer tune! And when you have Shane D, you know Grant Nelson cannot be too far away.. I am not sure that my attempt at mashing up Grant’s “Sundown” and “The Phuture Ain’t…” was absolutely necessary but the Boy needs to try all those buttons on the deck.. “Save” by John Julius Knight is irresistible.. Connections... I thought of this set on CX104 going to China .. Up there above he clouds, I was reflecting on the many connections I've recently made with my music.. Through this site, through Facebook, through Souncloud.. Connections that thankfully transcend House Music, yet which House made possible. Here is to Connections, to friendships, to shared ideals, shared dreams & utopia, shared loves and hopes, shared strengths and weaknesses.. And Here is to Humanity, a purely magical word, which would lose its seminal meaning without Connections.. Evolution… It began in Africa. Beware the first 35 minutes are naughty, one could say raunchy.. If you play it at work, it is at your own peril.. This is NOT background music for your sunday lunch if the folks are visiting.. Naughty, Deep n' Sexy  and rhythmic episode. We start in Chicago and Detroit, where House began,  then slowly incorporate rhythmic roots from Africa, where " it all began", to finally fuse it up with Latin and Brazilian influences , all throughout with a distinct naughty undertone. The set is both a challenge and an experiment, hence the title “Evolution… It began in Africa “. A challenge, for I wanted to try rhythms and musical colours I usually shy away from. An experiment, for I tried to build the set without looking at the beatgrid as a "beast" I needed to "tame". In all fairness, with these percussions and syncopated beats, the visual beatgrid is normally useless. Yet, without the comfort of the software finding the beatgrid, I had to dig deep and feel when, where and how to blend in the different layers of sounds I wanted to play with. A challenge to say the least.. but I wanted to learn how to do it before going back to the security and bliss of pure soulful house.. The first half hour is resolutely naughty to hook some of the listeners. Then, we dive into the rhythmic part with just enough sugar not to lose too many of you, to finally we settle in South America, a musical space I usually hardly cover.  There are treasures buried deep into the mix and I will re-use some of them in my next set, which I promise, will NOT be a challenge but just a fun, upfront house, happy episode. Do not be taken aback with “It began in Africa”..  I really had to go there before dwelling back in my normal space. For this podcast to remain fun for me to do, I need to try new things and to…yes.. Evolution… It began in Africa. Beware the first 35 minutes are naughty, one could say raunchy.. If you play it at work, it is at your own peril.. This is NOT background music for your sunday lunch if the folks are visiting.. Naughty, Deep n' Sexy  and rhythmic episode. We start in Chicago and Detroit, where House began,  then slowly incorporate rhythmic roots from Africa, where " it all began", to finally fuse it up with Latin and Brazilian influences , all throughout with a distinct naughty undertone. The set is both a challenge and an experiment, hence the title “Evolution… It began in Africa “. A challenge, for I wanted to try rhythms and musical colours I usually shy away from. An experiment, for I tried to build the set without looking at the beatgrid as a "beast" I needed to "tame". In all fairness, with these percussions and syncopated beats, the visual beatgrid is normally useless. Yet, without the comfort of the software finding the beatgrid, I had to dig deep and feel when, where and how to blend in the different layers of sounds I wanted to play with. A challenge to say the least.. but I wanted to learn how to do it before going back to the security and bliss of pure soulful house.. The first half hour is resolutely naughty to hook some of the listeners. Then, we dive into the rhythmic part with just enough sugar not to lose too many of you, to finally we settle in South America, a musical space I usually hardly cover.  There are treasures buried deep into the mix and I will re-use some of them in my next set, which I promise, will NOT be a challenge but just a fun, upfront house, happy episode. Do not be taken aback with “It began in Africa”..  I really had to go there before dwelling back in my normal space. For this podcast to remain fun for me to do, I need to try new things and to…yes..
