Today on the #goallin podcast we have Jason Reardon. Jason is the winner of the inaugural Red Bull La Ultra race which took place last year in the himalayas over a distance of 555kms. Today on the #goallin podcast we have a returning guest Demetruis Thigpen. I'm excited to have Meech back on the show today to talk about the book that he has just released called "The extraordinary thought from an ordinary mind." As a little escape from the madness of the world we have a really great guest for you today. In fact our guest Meech is returning. Last time I really enjoyed our conversation as his mindset, beliefs and thought process was so reflective of mine and I think that is born out of both of us being in the military albeit in different services and countries! I love talking to and interviewing fellow service members. You might have heard the saying before that there is no such thing as an ex-soldier, and it's true. No matter what you do after your time in the military, the training you learn, the mindset they teach and the experiences you have stick with you for the rest of your life. Sometimes these would rather have been forgotten or not experienced at all but for the most part what you learn sets you up really well and gives you the ability to learn just about anything that you put your mind to. The greatest skill that I took away was the mindset and the ability to learn how to do something. Those skills transferred well into the entrepreneurial world where you have to adapt, be flexible and change at a moment's notice. Nothing really bothers me in business because of that mindset and I do know that is a great trait to have taken away. Well it's June of 2020 and as we all know the world has changed radically since I released the last go all in episodes. As you would have experienced yourself, there was and has been a hell of a lot of uncertainty about what would happen during the Covid-19 pandemic. Was everyone going to get sick and die, what about our jobs, our bills, our relatives, our plans etc. The uncertainty has been crazy and I decided to put the chocks on the podcast until I had a bit more of an understanding of how it would affect us as individuals and as a society. I didn't think that it was appropriate to be putting out go all in stories when I had no idea about how the pandemic was affecting people. Now that we seem to be through the worst of it, especially here in Australia, it feels right to be sharing some more go all in stories and I know that they'll help you find some inspiration in your day. I have some amazing guests coming up and I have around 50 people locked in for interviews over the next couple of months and I can't wait to get them recorded and share them with you. What is happening elsewhere in the world is happening here in Australia and if people don't comply with what we are being told then I'm afraid that we are also headed towards a total lock down for a month or longer. Sadly there is some bad news to report today with the case numbers here in Australia. The theory of the case numbers doubling every 3-4 days has come to pass once again. Today is the 25th of march and we have 2191 reported cases and just 4 days ago there were 1072 cases. It's a scary time in history as there is just so much uncertainty about what is coming and what is about to happen. The known unknowns are really starting to annoy a lot of people and I don't think I would be wrong in generalising by saying that most people are totally fed up with this situation already. Now that most of us are over the initial shock of the #pandemic and we're coming to realise that life will never be the same after #COVID-19 it's a natural time to be asking what's next. Ask yourself: How would I reopen a closed business in 12-months time? How would I hire people and pay their wages? In my view if people are prepared to work hard, give their all and #goallin they should be rewarded not just with good wages and conditions but with a bigger opportunity for ownership. I want you to start thinking about how you would do things, how you can help get people back to work because the most important thing that we can all do is come together to get the economy back on its feet and people back into jobs. Again, this is not for kids so please take a moment to do what you need to if they are around. The Chinese people are NOT responsible for this pandemic, the CCP are. They allowed that wet market despite all of the warnings about SARS, bird flu and swine flu, they silenced the people trying to help, they covered it up, they lied to the world and now the genie is out of the bottle communism is once again highlighted for what it is - and in my view that is a hateful murderous bunch of gangsters that don't care about anything but themselves. I'm mad as hell, in fact I am madder than 1 million mad people can be all at once. I'm mad that you are locked in your home I'm mad you have lost your job I'm mad you can't pay your bills because your income has stopped I'm mad that you are fighting and arguing in the supermarket because of stupid trivial things I'm mad that you cannot visit your elderly parents and relatives I'm mad your kids are scared I'm mad you can't even walk your dog because of the lock down The list goes on, but to be clear I am not mad at the Australian government or Scomo. He is doing the best he can with the people he has and trying as hard as he can to make the right decisions. Whether you agree with me or not, the fact is he is trying and doing his best and this is not a beat up on the Australian government or our leaders in any way. No I'm mad because it just didn't need to be this way.

In times of uncertainty it is more important than ever to ensure that your business is dialied in properly from a digital perspective. Over the last 15-years I have rarely seen a business that has both their off line and online systems perfectly aligned and dialed in. One is usually better than the other, but none of that matters any more. The new normal that we are all facing is social distancing and until this #pandemic dies down and we have a solution to the #coronavirus foot traffic to physical stores will slow and perhaps even stop. That doesn't mean that consumers are no longer spending. People still want and need the products and services that you have, you just need to make sure that they can find you on line. If you can't be found and you don't have any type of sophistication to match your market your sales will fall away and once both off line and on line stop producing you will find yourself in a very difficult circumstance indeed. If your business is not online properly now, this pandemic is going to enforce your transition to digital. On the other side of all this, the worst case, is that you have a beautifuly optimised website and a marketing campaign that converts like crazy. Who would have thought that the #coronavirus would have made it from Wuhan to the suburb that we live in here in Sydney. The nature of a #pandemic is that it affects every single person on the planet. Whether that is from a health or economic perspective, it doesn't discriminate. It doesn't matter if you're old or young it affects us all. I wanted to use this episode to get a younger persons view of the pandemic.
