Going All In with Jo Hodges from the Extraordinary Executive | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4679

As regular listeners of the show would know the go all in podcast is about potential, it's about committing and doing whatever it takes to succeed no matter what. We all know what this feels like because each and every one of us have committed to something at some point in our lives. But what do you do when the only thing you have ever been told is that you will never amount to anything? How do you go all in, how do you commit and forge forward in the face of what seems like overwhelming adversity? Today you are about to hear a story that is very hard to listen too. Jo grew up in a really tough family environment. She lost her mother at a very young age and her father was not just abusive he was down right mean to her. As you listen in today you'll recognise just how hard it must have been for Jo. Her starting point was one of massive disadvantage compared to most. However in spite of al that, she managed to break through and succeed in life. Even though past experiences never go away and can never be changed Jo has managed to make the most of her opportunity and build a great life and successful business for herself. If you want to know more about resilience, about determination and forging ahead in spite of a rough past then you are going to absolutely love this show.  Going All In with domestic violence survivor Simone O'Brien | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4085

Today on EP102 of the #goallin podcast our guest is Simone O'Brien. As you'll hear this is a Go All In story like no other. In fact, this very show might be the most important one I have ever done! In Australia there is an epidemic of domestic violence against women and as you'll hear Simone is not only a survivior but she is also a very outspoken and respected supporter for domestic violence prevention here in Australia. She is an ambassador for Australia says no more, Good 360 Australia, Beyond DV and a patron of Rize Up Australia. Her own person story is shocking. It is hard to listen to but we must all confront this issue head on, especially if we are going to close the gap from where we are to where we should be. For all the parents of young daughters out there like me, it is especially important that you hear Simone's story and likewise for the parents of young teenage boys - you might want to think about getting them to listen in to this podcast or to watch Simone's story over on the Go All In YouTube channel. Just search youtube.com/goallin As you would probably agree, changing behaviour around domestic violence starts at a grass roots level and if we can shine a spotlight on this important topic and share it with the teens in our lives then maybe as individuals we can help to make a difference. I tell my daughter all the time that it is never ok to put your hands on anyone and no boy should ever rough you up or push you around either physically or emotionally but it wasn't until she sat with me and watched this interview that she really understood why. As you listen to this podcast, if it raises any issues at all for you, just check the show notes. There are lots of links to the many services that can assist you and if you are listening in and you think that someone you care about might be in trouble - do something about it. Don't sit on the sidelines and wait for that person to become another statistic. You don't need to do that, if you or someone you care about needs help, there is help that you can tap into right now and these services will get you and your kids out and to safety today. As you listen into Simone's story pay close attention to the red flags that she mentiones. If these are happening to you or to someone you care about then perhaps it's time that you took some action because it can escalate faster than you ever thought possible and become something that is worse than your worst nightmare. ======= Connect with Simone: https://simoneobrien.com.au/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/simone-o-brien/ https://www.facebook.com/simonemobrien/ https://twitter.com/simonemobrien https://www.instagram.com/simonemobrien/ simonemobrien@gmail.com ===== Domestic Violence Support Services: https://www.aussaysnomore.org/ https://good360.org.au/ https://www.beyonddv.org.au/ Find out more about the show here: https://www.goallin.com.au/

Discover the Best Version of Yourself and GO ALL IN with Rachel Hind | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3823

On EP101 of the #goallin podcast I sat down with Rachel Hind from Rachelhind.com Now if your listening to this podcast or watching this video I'm not sure where you are from. One thing you may or may not know about Australian society is that we have a very strong culture of drinking and partying and I have to say that there are not too many things better than a cold beer by the beach on a hot summer's afternoon. That said, Aussies, and I know this is a broad generalisation, but they have a tendency to go a little overboard. As you'll hear in Rachel's version of this very familiar story of the corporate drinking culture, it was becoming a problem for her. Now It takes time, effort and most of all guts to recognise that your behaviour is a problem. And it takes courage and emotional intelligence to begin to make some changes that will resolve the problem behaviour. To fix it you have to go all in, that's for sure. Rachel's journey to sobriety was not an easy one and that's no real surprise because any change that you may need to go through in life is hard but that is especially true of giving up booze. For me personally I feel that Rachel's go all in story is so important and needs to be told and shared and that's because it is really familiar. I know that in my life I have had a problem with booze, but when I unpack that, it wasn't the booze that was the problem it was the mates I was hanging around with that was. I laugh about it and say that I use to have a drinking problem and the problem was that I just drank too much but as soon as I removed those people from my life I suddenly no longer had a drinking problem! Turns out I needed better friends which of course I found!  Cut the BS and Do The Work with Sam Livingston | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5477

On EP99 of the #goallin podcast I sat down with Sam Livingston from Sam's on Fire. As you'll hear is a veteran of both the US Marines and the American Army. He was deployed on 2 tours, 1 to Iraq and the other to Afghanistan but the stories that he shares with us today are not quite what you think. They are much deeper than you'll expect. Now, unless you've been in the military you probably wouldn't know that many of the things that you do on a day to day basis are a metaphor for life. One fun one that has stayed with me is that there is always someone doing it tougher than you and I love that one because it is so very grounding and usually snaps me out of any pity party I might be attending or thinking of attending. Like everyone I've felt sorry for myself at times but when I lift up my head and look around I can see others that have it much less worse than me and that is grounding and empowering and reminds me that I'm in charge of my own feelings not circumstances. In the military, and particularly in the infantry when someone is doing it a little tougher than you that can be a little funny. When you look over at your mate lugging a heavy machine gun you realise that you don't have much to complain about compared to them and after the initial jokes are made and the fun has been poked there is always a mate that has your back to help you there and I love that as well. That is also a metaphor for life and a reminder that you never have to go it alone and there is always someone to help you - all you have to do is ask. As you'll hear Sam's experiences overseas in war zones required him to look deep inside of himself and muster strength, patience and determination that no amount of training could ever teach and, without realising at the time, that patience and determination set him up for success post military. Attitude is everything in life and Sam has a positive outlook that is not only infectious but also very very inspiring. You can't listen to a podcast like this and a guy like Sam and not feel inspired to do more. You're going to love his go all in story and they way he uses marine precision to make calculated and correct decisions - there is something for us all to learn in that and I know that I personally took a whole lot away from this show and I know you will to.  30-Years of CEO Experience with Cameron Schwab | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4634

On EP98 of the #goallin podcast I sat down with Cameron Schwab from Design CEO As you would know sport is an integral part of Australian society and culture. Whether you follow the AFL, NRL, Rugby, Netball, Soccer or something else, there is no doubt at some point in your youth that you played your favourite sport and maybe even aspired to play in the big league. As a kid I grew up playing NRL and even played a couple games for the Bulldogs in the first year of reps you do in the under 15's. It had an impact on my life for sure and solidified my love of not just NRL but for sport in general. Our guest today has been at the heart of AFL for more than 30 years and if you recognised his name as an AFL fan you'd know Schwabby as the CEO of Richmond, Fremantle, Melbourne and also as the CEO of the AFL. Cam has had more experience than most in not only leading teams on the field but running successful footy clubs. Some would argue that AFL is a the very heart of Victorian culture and you can see that from just how many people turn out to the games every weekend. So it was great to sit down with Cam and hear about his experiences as an insider of something soooo many people are so passionate about! Post AFL Cam shares his experience as a CEO with CEOs and aspiring leaders, and in his words he enables courageous, confident and creative leaders.  Leading and Winning in Business with Tim Collings | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5108

On EP97 of the #goallin podcast I sat down with Tim Collings from 4i Leadership. As many long time listeners of the show would know leadership is one of my favourite topics to discuss and our guest today is an expert in this field. As you'll hear Tim started out his corporate working career as many of us do. Constrained by the boundaries of a system Tim quickly realised that the way he thought about things was different to the way the boss wanted things done. Luckily Tim had some great bosses and strong leaders that recognised that his potential for greatness resided not within a system but with servicing clients and delivering on their needs and once he was let off the leash so to speak he kicked goal after goal. But like many successful employees Tim wanted more and ultimately he wanted his own business. All the years within the corporate framework set Tim up nicely to make the transition into his own business. Tim's has a great perspective on leadership and is highly experienced in working closely with many of Australia's top executives. Tim's ideas and thoughts around value based leadership are not just interesting, but pragmatic and highly effective.  Never Ever Give Up - Keep Going All In and You'll Break Through with Zoe Routh | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4228

On Episode 96 of the #goallin podcast our guest is Zoe Routh from zoerouth.com Now I'm not sure about you but I have been beat down a couple of times in business and it hurts. Interestingly losing financially seems to be the least of all the problems that you face and I think that is because you can recover from that in almost all circumstances. A bruised ego coupled with disappointment of things not working out can last for years if you're not careful. And it can create a feeling of once bitten twice shy which isn't really a good formula for getting back on the horse. Our guest today has had her fair share of business disappointments but she always left the door ajar just enough to get back in and give it another go and as you listen into Zoe's story I'm sure you'll agree that she made the right decisions at the right times! As Zoe shares her Go All In story I know you'll not only be captivated by her enthusiasm for life but also inspired by here fight and her determination to break through and succeed at all costs.  Having it all, losing it all and Going All In to get it back with Khaysan Kimberlin | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4413

On EP95 I sat down with Khaysan Kimberlin from Project Athlete. Who here listening or watching has ever bought into the idea of passive income. I think we all have. Maybe it's a generalisation but I would say that we all want to get to a point either with our businesses or our investments or both that we have enough passive income to cover our bills, not to work and have some surplus to live the life we want. Well our guest today achieved that and much more very early on in her life and she was loving and living the life that she wanted. But in all of that success she tells us that the whole business and the ideas that were behind it all didn't properly align to her deepest core values. There was nothing wrong with it but in the hierarchy of importance and values this business was a number 2 not a number on and that became the undoing of all the hard work that she had put in. Khaysan has done more work on her inner self than most of us will do in our whole lives. She has had to reinvent herself and fight to get back on the field to give herself a chance to score another goal in business. In that process of reinvention she had to go all in and it took her on a journey of self discovery. You're going to love Khaysan's Go All In story and I know you'll be inspired to do more after hearing it.  Living Life with Determination, Spirt and Passion with - Lincolne Innis | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3529

Today on EP #94 of the Go All In podcast our guest is Lincolne Innis. Sometimes in life you meet people that truly humble you and Lincolne is one of those people. Like many young red blooded Aussie blokes I lived my life like it was never going to end. As a young fella I often took really big and stupid risks, and like most young men full of testosterone, I never gave a moment's thought to the consequences. And I don't mean any of that in a bad way, it was just the way that I lived my life. Tearing around on motorcycles, jumping out of planes and kicking in doors with a gun it was just normal life and in all that I never gave a thought to what would happen if something went wrong. As you'll hear on today's podcast Lincolne loved life and also lived in the fast lane as well. He had an amazing bunch of mates a family who loved him and his whole life ahead of him. One day, that all changed in an instant, and for many of us, I'm sure you can relate, we are just that one moment away from many things. In Lincolne's case, that one moment changed everything when he broke his neck and couldn't feel anything from his neck down. Now I believe the true measure of a person's character is his or her ability to handle the truth. And the truth is that Lincolne took on his injury, he rode the inevitable ups and downs, and ultimately he broke through to a new life with purpose balance and of course some fun. As you'll hear nothing is going to hold Lincolne back, there is nothing stopping him from contributing to this world and no injury is going to put a limitation on him or define the goals he sets for himself. This is a truly inspiring go all in story from a young man who had me speechless many times throughout this show. I was and I am inspired by his determination, his spirit and his commitment to live a life of purpose and passion. In the next 60 minutes of your life listening to this podcast I am certain that you will also be moved and inspired by Lincolne. Today on Episode #92 of the #goallin podcast our guest is Sandra Bartlett from Stairway 2 Dreams. Have you ever been in a role, a relationship or a job where you feel invisible. Like your opinions and your contributions don't matter? I think at some stage we all have, it's part of the human experience but some people get trapped in that space. It's normally family first and somewhere in the top 5 would be your career. Work is not everything to everyone but if I could make a generalisation and say that most people really do care about their career and where it is taking them in their life. As you know we are living in a rapidly changing world. Gone are the days where you have 1-job that lasts you 40-years and then you retire. Statistically you'll have 5-7 career changes in your lifetime and each and every one of those will require you to go all in and completely commit to them to make it a success or at least make a go of it.
