Growing up in sunny California was not as glamorous as it may sound. At least for me it wasn’t. I grew up in a small ghetto about 60 miles east of Los Angeles, called ‘Bell Town’. Bell Town was full of every type of crime that you can possibly imagine. By the time my grandparents took in my brother, sister and myself, they had already raised eight kids of their own. In an attempt to escape the horrors of my childhood, I married a young man who was four years my senior. I was barely eighteen at the time. I quickly learned that I had only traded one horror story for another. After many years of physical and verbal abuse, I decided that divorce was my only option. I had to face the world with all of its cruel and censorious stereotypes- alone. In light of my amateurish childhood and my defective marriage, it’s no wonder why I felt much disheartenment. Even going to church, I felt demoralized. In a lot of ways the denominational church that I was involved in at the time, re-enforced the negative feelings that I had about myself. There were those who made me feel as though being single were a disease. I took refuge in my faith in God, and God did not fail me. I took the necessary steps needed for healing and direction. If you are a woman who finds yourself in the perplexed position of single mother, I want to point you in the right direction.. Don’t give up and don’t except defeat! I want you to seek and find the unique plan that God has for your life and for the lives of your children. You may feel like your life is over, but I want you to know that it is just beginning! In a sensitive story that has been gaining much ground in the last week, a Maryland Father struck the male school teacher with a baseball bat after discovering the inappropriate text messages on his daughters phone from the teacher. But what many felt was a justified aggression is probably just that, the assault took place at the family home after the teacher was calmly asked to leave by the Father after he showed up determined to "talk to" the 15 year old student of his. The teacher refused to leave so the next best thing was to convince him that he was way out of order by administering a beating of a lesson with a baseball bat! I don't know about anyone else but this Father has my blessings and isn't wrong at all! Kevin Hart and the shade that he throws Black Women in his veiled and overt negative comments is really a case of the job that he is paid to do. In his own words he swears that he will never make a joke against gays and lesbians in any form because it is too sensitive an issue. That statement alone will ensure that he will remain at the top of the comedic helm for a very long time to come. Yet, he will go in own his own Black Sister in a negative manner because it is and has always been in vogue to do just that to Black women! Demonize and degrade them at every opportunity to the delight of mainstream Amerikkka with every breath that he could muster. That style and focus of comedy will ALSO ensure that he will remain at the top of the comedic food chain for many years and countless millions to come. Kevin Hart's very public position as the current funniest man in Hollywood comes with a price and a set of instructions. It clearly shows that no matter how much we feel that we've made it as a race in the dominant White society, we will always be the footstools and the butt of some of the most hurtful jokes ever made. My question is, when will we leave all of this mind bending and hate laced material so readily provided by Hollywood that will guarantee that it will be even easier to pull a trigger on each other and leave our pregnant women all alone with no support because they have no worth as the bitches they are projected to be?
