Ever since man took his first step on the planet Earth, their have been wars, battles and individual disputes. Having a difference of viewpoints has fueled these altercations as far back as recorded history can remember. To see two individuals go to battle bedazzles most who witness the dispute and at some point someone figured out that this was something that could be exploited to manifest a great profitfrom because it seems as though everyone loves a great fight. Thus, the art of Prizefighting was born. Professional Fighting from in its infancy captivated audiences because of the audacity of each opponent to believe in themselves and their ability to defend themselves in ways that most common men were insecure and impotent to execute. This is will continue on until someone is knocked out, quits or is decided by a panel of judges to be the winner because of the superior skills exhibited in full view of everyone in attendance. Our goal tonight is to answer the age old question as to who is the one fighter who should be considered the greatest of all time when weighing out these unseen factors of their proven record, level of opponents, tough fights where they proved their testicular fortitude as well as what they had to deal with in life in general. Many will proclaim that the fighters of yesteryear where the true modern gladiators of the sport while others will swear that the modern day fighter is bigger and stronger and will easily defeat those then glorious pioneers in a sport that has evolved from its basic barbaric period. So the lines will be open for ALL to contribute to an open moderated discussion that is sure to get very intense indeed just in the same manner that our beloved classic matches have in the past.  

In a roundtable discussion at the Scurv Sanctuary, a very intense and unbridled conversation took place between LanceScurv and his born Jamaican Brother-In-Law on various issues about the mentality of Black people, the Government, what a true friend really is and other compelling topics that flowed along as the conversation went down. These types of discussions are commonplace at the Scurvin residence and is just a taste of what goes on behind those closed doors. It was totally unscripted and unrehearsed, so let me know what your opinions are on what was spoken in this exchange. Enjoy!

It's not a secret that in the United States of America, there is an ever increasing prison population whose statistics are shockingwhen compared to the rest of the entire world. For a country that is well know the world over for its desire for abundance in all things material and carnal, America has seemed to overlook the need for an equal craving to immerse its wayward direction in all things spiritual. Yes, we have the mega churches as well as the rest of the landscape dotted with the countless houses of worship everywhere that you turn. But when we see how the voids in our collective souls have manifested in the many lost lives that could have benefited from the proper guidance that can only come from an existence made to embrace true spiritual teachings over the seemingly useless religious rituals, we then see how our many houses of worship have failed us ultimately. Religion has failed us and it is evident that we need to feed those who are incarcerated in a way that will stop recidivism dead in its tracks so that society can benefit from the talents and abilities that are lost behind bars as opposed to the lawyers, police, judges, D.A's, court officers as well as all of the many private companies who desire for the cycle of locking down our loved ones to continue on without an end in sight. What about the families of the incarcerated? Who really cares? And who will really look out not only after the ultimate nightmare of lockdown has happened, but in a proactive manner to feed the masses spiritually so that those bad decisions won't be made that will send them to a place that is the closest thing to hell on earth? Tonight we are going to discuss the need for TRUE SPIRITUAL SUPPORT to those at risk individuals who may sometimes feel that their lives do not count when in actuality it does!

I had the honor and pleasure of enjoying a wonderful conversation with author Paulette Davis-Horton, creator of the book "Death in 60 Days: Who Silenced Booker T. Washington?" - A Nurse's View When I thought about how Booker T. Washington died when she posed the question to me, I, like so many others before me, didn't have a clue! This made me understand how important the work of Ms. Davis-Horton was as she took the time to tediously research this mystery by taking the time to pound the pavement to interview older Pastors and relevant connected people who could have shed any light on what really happened to Booker T. Washington in his last hours here on this earth. After listening to the process in which she discovered what happened to this great man, you will realize the irony in the saying that "The Truth Is Always Stranger Than Fiction!"

Kobe Bryant was recently asked byThe New Yorker magazine to weigh in on a widely publicized Miami Heat photo where the team posed in hoodies to show their support for the late Trayvon Martin and his family. Bryant’s comments have been interpreted by some as an insult to the reigning NBA champions. “I won’t react to something just because I’m supposed to, because I’m an African-American,” he said. “That argument doesn’t make any sense to me. So we want to advance as a society and a culture, but, say, if something happens to an African-American we immediately come to his defense? Yet you want to talk about how far we’ve progressed as a society? Well, we’ve progressed as a society, then don’t jump to somebody’s defense just because they’re African-American. You sit and you listen to the facts just like you would in any other situation, right? So I won’t assert myself.” Bryant was quickly pounced on by commentators on social media. “Kobe could’ve just shouted out love for Trayvon’s parents, said he couldn’t imagine their loss and kept it breezy. He didn’t,” tweeted Grio columnist Goldie Taylor. “My issue is that Kobe reduces the Trayvon Martin outrage to blind racial solidarity, when it was about so much more than that,” added ESPN commentator Jemele Hill. Bryant has yet to respond to the backlash towards his remarks.

Is Gay Truly The New Black? So much has been said to compare the fight for the equal rights of of those in the LGBTQ community to the Civil Rights Movement and struggle of Black people in America and the world abroad. On one side you'll hear that the comparisons are valid and the parallels are real but on the other side many Blacks feel that to even make this comparison is a hard slap in the face. You will here many Blacks who oppose this comparison say that their skin and ethnicity cannot be hidden in the same manner that Gays & Lesbians can hide their sexual preferences. Black people are forced out of the closet with their Blackness at birth and will receive the racist treatment without any choice in the matter from the day that they were born. Many Gays & Lesbians will point out what they feel are the parallel circumstances of their struggle and how eerily similar they and that their coming out of the closet is irreversible just like one's Blackness once the word is out about who they are. This argument has been whispered by the masses for years and never dealt with head on....... Is the current comparison of the Gay & Lesbian move to gain equality via the Civil Rights struggle merely the same tactic that White feminists used back in the early 1970's to simply use the support of Black feminists to reach their goals only to distance themselves from those same Black Sisters who fought so hard only to get snubbed in the end by their White counterparts who benefited? How come there are so many Black people who are in the LGBTQ community that fight harder for their rights as Gay & Lesbian while ignoring the fight for equality as Blacks? What in the heck do they mean when the say someone is acting Black? Sometimes people might say that someone is not acting Black enough or are acting White? What are the things that people do to be considered Black through their actions? Who are they people who maintain the standard of what acting Black is and does it ever change? Where did this most often low standard of expected behavior originate from and why is it that most other races are not held to such a narrow minded set of standards? n this episode of the LanceScurv Show we are going to touch on an issue that for the most part is known by the majority of the masses but is never really spoken about in an up front and very direct manner. The amusing part of this is that our society feels that they know what it is behind closed doors but will never admit to its existence because of the pressure to be politically correct. We are truly a nation in denial and we will speak to all who have something of value to add to the conversation. But for the most part, acting Black is acting ignorant. Acting Black is associated with all who are Black that indulge in talking in a manner laced with profanity. Quick to anger and get confrontation with absolutely anyone at the drop of a dime in public over an issue that is so very trivial. Acting Black is the absolute worst way to act at all. So our acting out on the movie set in an acting Black manner has enabled straight up foreigners to touch down on these shores knowing how to say "What's Up My Nigger?" without having any sizable contact with Black people at all! Let us understand what this not to cool phenomenon is and why we need to attach something good to the way the world sees us as well as the way we view ourselves before it's too late.
