Malo  and welcome to Season 4 Episode 14 of Breakfast Bites, by  TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this sunny and  warm Saturday morning 14 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on  the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! In rugby union – Fijian  rugby star of the 1990s, Noa Nadruku, who switched codes to play for  the Canberra Raiders in 1993, was inducted into Fiji’s Rugby Town Walk  of Fame in Sigatoka yesterday. Nadruku was one of the best 25 players in  the Raiders' 25-year anniversary after scoring 96 tries in 143 NRL  games. Also  inducted yesterday was Kenya's all-time World Rugby 7s Series top try  scorer and second highest try scorer at that Series with 271 tries,  Collins Injera. Among 12 others who have been honoured since 2011 are legendary All Black Jonah Lomu and Fiji 7s superstar, Waisale Serevi. “Being honoured over 15,200 kilometres away from home is simply the best feeling in my rugby career,” Injera said. In boxing – Gerrie Coetzee, the former WBA World Heavyweight Champion passed away yesterday from cancer at the age of 67. Coetzee won the title with a 10th-round knockout of Michael Dokes in the US in 1985. More  importantly, at the height of apartheid in South Africa, Coetzee was a  vocal opponent of the racist policies of his county, even adopting an  orphaned black boy. Rest in Peace Coetzee. In football – Manchester City star, Benjamin Mendy has been cleared of sex attacks on four women, and  jurors failed to reach verdicts on two others, following a six-month  trial in Chester. The Judge discharged the jury yesterday, ending the trial. Prosecutors may re-trial two cases. Only in the US – a signed Kobe Bryant MVP season jersey is set to be sold at auction by  Sotheby’s for US$7Million. Bryant wore the jersey in 25 games of the  2007/2008 NBA season, scoring 645 points over eight months. The  NBA superstar also averaged 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.4 assists  per game, guiding the Los Angeles Lakers to the NBA Finals — ultimately  losing to the Boston Celtics. And in Texas, some high school football players at an elite high school in Dallas, allege they were deprived of water and subjected to performing 400 push-ups within an hour as punishment - sending several students to the hospital, according to local reports. Rockwall-Heath High School Head Coach, John Harrell has been placed on leave while a third party conducts an investigation. Sounds like good ol’ tough love to me. Malo  and welcome to Season 4 Episode 13 of Breakfast Bites, by  TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this sunny and  warm Friday morning 13 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on the  180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! This is a special message for all sports fans, players and officials across all sports around the world - TeivovoSports.com  SUPPORTS ENDING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN – this after UFC President, Dana  White came out publicly yesterday saying that he has no excuse for  slapping his wife at a New Year’s eve party, or slapping any woman for  that matter: “There’s no excuse and no defence for it no matter what,”  White said. His  wife Anne issued a similar statement to the media, stating both she and  White were “drinking too much” and labeled the slap “out of character”  for the UFC president. “Things  got out of control, on both sides,” she said. “We’ve talked this  through as a family and apologized to each other. I just hope people  will respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.” In football – David  Beckham’s LA Galaxy contract has earned him more than US$488Million,  even after he left the Galaxy – thanks to two genius clauses. The  former England captain shocked world football in 2007 when he left Real  Madrid to move with his family to Los Angeles, taking a massive hair  cut from US$29M per season in Spain to US$6.6M base salary in LA – a  whopping 70 per cent drop. However,  Beckham negotiated a deal to ensure he took a percentage of all the LA  Galaxy’s revenue. Therefore he earned a cut of everything – from ticket  sales and sponsorships to every beer and hot dog sold. That saw his earnings skyrocket to around US$260M across the five years. So US$52M per year made Beckham one of the highest-paid footballers on the planet over 118 appearances and two MLS Cup wins. Incredibly,  when he signed for LA Galaxy, Beckham inserted a clause guaranteeing  him the right to buy an MLS expansion team for only US$24M after he  retired. The franchises are worth a lot more today, averaging out at US$594M in 2022 compared to US$38M in 2008. So  overall David Beckham’s risky move to America 16 years ago on a budget  of US$6.6M per year that guaranteed him just US$33M, has returned more  than US$488M over his time at LA Galaxy and launching Inter Miami. In sports Biz – AFL legend, Tom Brady is facing more than just lawsuits for his association with FTX. According to court documents, the NFL legend is among the bankrupt crypto exchange’s largest individual shareholders with more than 1.1 million shares. His ex-wife and super model, Gisele Bündchen has more than 686,000 shares. The value of Brady’s shares was previously estimated by Forbes as worth around US$45Million when FTX was valued at a staggering US$32Billion in January 2022. Since then, FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried has been charged with eight criminal offences relating to the collapse of FTX. Greed, greed and more greed is the only thing that comes to mind. Malo and welcome to Season 4 Episode 12 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this bright and sunny Thursday morning 12 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! In football – Marcus Rashford continued his hot scoring streak as his two goals in stoppage time helped Man U to a 3-0 Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Sky Bet League One side Charlton, after Antony’s first-half strike had put United in front. Meanwhile French Football Federation President, Noel Le Graet has apologised for saying that he “wouldn’t even have taken his call” if Zinedine Zidane rang him about coaching France. Boy did that backfire spectacularly! In rugby union – Bristol Wing Siva Naulago 31, is available for the Bears' Challenge Cup match away to Zebre on Saturday, after recovering from knee surgery and then a hamstring injury. In fact, the Fijian flyer has not featured at all this season. "Siva Naulago is back finally, so he'll be available for selection this week," Bristol’s director of rugby Pat Lam told BBC Radio Bristol yesterday. In sports Biz – with Qatar spending US$300Billion for the FIFA World Cup plus Saudi Arabia committing US$500B to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games, you gotta wonder about their returns on investment? Well a recent study of 130 cases in the US where public funds were doled out for investment in sports facilities, events and related infrastructure, shows that in most of these cases, local economies and tax payers got back much less than what was promised in benefits for their tax dollars spent. In boxing – former unified World boxing champ, Anthony Joshua is plotting his way back into contention and to do so he plans to fight unknown but Top 10 ranked Australian heavyweight, Demsey McKean later this year. AJ hasn’t fought since his rematch loss to Oleksandr Usyk last August. McKean is unbeaten in 22 fights. If I were a betting man . . . oh never mind. Finally in rugby league some BREAKING NEWS – on his way to Papua New Guinea, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has gone nuts! First he expressed his support for an NRL expansion team based in Papua New Guinea.’ Then Albanese really went overboard by also backing a Rugby League World Cup to be hosted by Australia and some Pacific Island countries. Is he chewing betel nut again? Malo  and welcome to Season 4 Episode 11 of Breakfast Bites, by  TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this bright and  sunny Wednesday morning 11 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on  the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! And  we start with boxing – Victoria Lee, a rising Mixed Martial Arts  fighter who competed under the ONE Championship management team, died on  26 December at just 18 years old. No cause of death was given. Her  sister, Angela Lee is the current Atomweight champion while brother  Christian holds the Lightweight title. Victoria had a three win no loss  record. Rest in Peace sister. In  rugby league – three Clubs are still in the race to sign Eels superstar  Mitchell Moses, with the Tigers reportedly tabling  A$1.3Million-per-season and the Bulldogs have also tabled A$1.2M per  year, while the Eels offer sits just above the million-dollar mark. So  who will Mitch choose? Despite  the new higher salary cap announced several weeks ago by the NRL, the  Panthers have not yet tabled a new contract to gun Toa Samoa Centre,  Stephen Crichton. The Bulldogs and Dolphins are interested in signing  Crichton at a much higher salary. However, he is willing to take a  significant pay cut to stay back out west in Sydney. In American College Football – Georgia  rolled to its second consecutive US College Football National  Championship with a brutal 65-7 victory over fairytale side Texas  Christian University on Tuesday. It was the largest margin of victory in any bowl game ever. The  Horned Frogs were big underdogs heading into the game, having upset  Michigan just to make it into the title match, after going from 5 wins  and 7 losses last season to 12-1 under new coach Sonny Dykes, but they  were no match for the Bulldogs. In  rugby union – word around town about the real reason Senirusi  Seruvakula stepped down as Head Coach of Fijiana Drua is very sad  really, because they all worked so hard – the team and officials to  achieve amazing success in their debut season and now when they need to  build on it he’s gone. In  sports Biz – if you think Qatar was crazy building six new stadiums for  the FIFA World Cup plus other public infrastructure at a cost of  US$300Billion, the  2029 Asian Winter Games will be held in Trojena — a futuristic Saudi  Arabian megacity that looks like something straight out of a James  Cameron film. And get this - the city doesn’t actually exist yet. It is part of a US$500Billion smart-city project. I am gob-smacked – winter Olympics in Saudi Arabia in a city that doesn’t even exist in like seven years’ time! Malo  and welcome to Season 4 Episode 10 of Breakfast Bites, by  TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this bright and  sunny Tuesday morning 10 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on  the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! And we start with boxing – Australia’s  IBF Cruiserweight World Boxing Champion Jai Opetaia has been called out  by Brit, Chris Billam-Smith for a monster world title bout at Vitality  Stadium Bournemouth, after Billam-Smith delivered a devastating fifth  round knockout victory over Armend Xhoxhaj. In rugby league – former  rugby league star Chris Caruana, who played 10 seasons in first grade  until 2002 and who signed for Souths on a A$1.2Million three-year deal  at the height of his career,  has revealed how his life unraveled after  he got addicted to ice, leaving him on the brink of suicide. “Ice  is a very, very nasty drug. It took away a part of my soul. The longest  I was awake for was 12 days, the longest I didn’t eat was 14 days. I  lost 24kg in 12 months. It’s an insidious drug,“ Caruana said. In football – soccer fans might not have to wait four years between World Cups. FIFA President Gianni Infantino wants a triennial tournament following the success of the  2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar which delivered record revenue of  US$7.5Billion. However, changes to the international calendar wouldn’t  be possible until after the 2030 World Cup. In sports Biz – Under Armour continues to struggle. The company reported net income of US$86.9Million for the second quarter — a sharp decline from  the US$113.4M it reported during the same period last year. The  company’s stock has lost more than 50% of its value in 2022. Under  Armour inventory at US$1.1Million is up 29% on last year. In  rugby union – Wallabies Head Coach, Dave Rennie has ruled out a Rugby  World Cup coaching partnership with Eddie Jones after he linked up with  his 44-player training squad on the Gold Coast yesterday. “It won’t  happen before the Rugby World Cup mate,” Rennie said. “There’s  a fair bit of speculation about a lot of things, but my focus is on the  Rugby World Cup,” Wallabies Head Coach, Dave Rennie responding to Eddie  Jones comment, “I’m not an Assistant Coach.” Rennie fired back that he wasn’t looking to add Fast Eddie to his team anyway. Malo and welcome to Season 4 Episode 09 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this bright and sunny Monday morning 09 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! And we start with boxing – Gervonta "Tank" Davis rocked Hector Luis Garcia with a solid left at the end of Round 8, prompting the underdog to retire on his stool before the ninth round yesterday afternoon in Washington DC. With the TKO win, Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) sets up a 15 April super fight against Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas. In rugby league – “I have already contacted Kev to apologise and I’d like to extend that to his family and the whole Broncos Club for this unwarranted attention over some silly comments from me,” Broncos teen star, Selwyn Cobbo doing a major backflip on criticism that Kevin Walters wasn’t really a good Coach. OUCH but we already know that mate! Meanwhile, Dolphins Head Coach, Wayne Bennett predicts the first matchup between the two Brisbane Clubs - the "Battle of Brisbane" scheduled for Round 4 at Suncorp will be like the Manchester Derby from the English Premier League, potentially on par with some of the biggest sports rivalries in the world. In football – holders Liverpool were held to a 2-2 home draw by Wolverhampton Wanderers in a breathless FA Cup third-round tie at Anfield on Saturday, after Newcastle United were dumped out by third-tier Sheffield Wednesday. Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, West Ham United, Southampton and Man U all scraped through to the next round. In rugby union – and the Rugby World Cup in France stumbles from one scandal to another! This time, former France enforcer and blindside superstar, Sebastien Chabal denied any wrongdoing obtaining more than one hundred tickets for this year’s Rugby World Cup in France all for himself. Le Parisien newspaper said the Cave Man as he was affectionately known by fans, who is one of the competition’s official Ambassadors, had been able to buy the tickets despite rules limiting members of the organising staff to eight per person. “Yes, I benefited from a privileged access to buy more tickets than it is possible to do for one person, because of my status as an ambassador for France 2023,” Chabal, 45, said in a statement to AFP. “I did not get any free tickets or preferential prices. And no, I have no intention of making profits on these tickets. Yeah right monsieur! Trust me, no one’s going to argue with him – he’s built like a Samoan! Malo and welcome to Season 4 Episode 08 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this bright and sunny Sunday morning 08 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! In rugby union – John O’Connor the CEO of the Fiji Rugby Union has resigned. Despite speculation on social media linking his departure from Rugby House to the recent change of government in Fiji – this is simply not true. Word from Fiji Rugby Union insiders say O’Connor resigned for personal health reasons. His replacement will be known in six to eight weeks. In rugby league – the mother of Broncos star Payne Haas has been jailed, but not for the car crash on the Gold Coast that killed three people as she was trying to evade Police on 30 December – that case is still to go to Court. Uiatu 'Joan' Taufua was on parole at the time of the crash for violently assaulting and spitting on two Star Casino bouncers in September last year, for which she had served one month of a nine month sentence in jail before being granted parole. The nature of her involvement in the deadly car crash was deemed to be a breach of her parole, prompting police to put her back behind bars. Boy this woman needs help. In tennis – World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn from the Australian Open after suffering another injury blow. The 19 year-old had his 2022 curtailed by an abdominal tear, but the Spaniard revealed on his social media channels he has now sustained an injury to a muscle in his right leg. “I worked so hard to get to my best level for Australia but unfortunately I won’t be able to play in the Australian Open,” he wrote. In football – if ever there was a fixed match in football, this is it; in one of the most incredible finishes to a match in A-League history, Sydney FC lost one nil to nine-man Wellington Phoenix after incredibly missing two penalties in stoppage time, following a series of bizarre refereeing decisions. Football in Australia seems to be falling apart. Only in the US – Dana White’s new show - “Power Slap” where two fighters slap each other in the face until one gives up and the other is declared the winner is . . er not surprisingly, being delayed. Well what do you expect, after TMZ uploaded a video shot by a bystander at a nightclub in Cabo, Mexico on New Year’s eve showing UFC Prez White slapping his wife in the face twice! Do you think he did it to promote the show? Malo and welcome to Season 4 Episode 07 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this sunny and warm Saturday morning 07 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! In rugby union – Wallabies Head Coach, Dave Rennie has named a 44-man Rugby World Cup 2023 squad which he believes has “genuine depth and competition for places.” It includes 16 players with 10 Tests or less experience and three players with 80 caps or more in Kurtly Beale, Michael Hooper and James Slipper. The Wallabies Squad features a bunch of Islanders: Forwards: Allan Alaalatoa, Taniela Tupou, Folau Fainga’a, Izack Rodda, Rob Leota, Pete Samu, and Rob Valetini. Backs: Quade Cooper, Noah Lolesio, Len Ikitau, Hunter Paisami, Samu Kerevi, Kurtley Beale, Mark Nawaqanitawase, and Jordan Petaia. In the NFL – Tom Brady is No. 1 in the NFL once again. The six-time Super Bowl champion has taken over the top spot on the list of highest-paid NFL players of all time with earnings of US$303Million through 22 seasons. Brady now 45 had his highest single-season earnings in 2021 at US$39.4M. In football – no doubt online betting and TV viewership go hand in hand. The FIFA World Cup final recorded 16.8 million viewers on FOX — the most watched Men’s World Cup game on US TV ever. Spanish-language coverage on Telemundo in the US drew another 5.5 million viewers; together they generated 7.9 million bets. In combat sports – “I already disrupted boxing; now it is time to disrupt MMA,” Jake Paul said in an announcement on Friday. The YouTuber signed a multi-fight deal with the Professional Fighters League, in which he will make his MMA debut in 2023 in PFL’s all-new Super Fight division, exclusively on PPV. I live for the day Jake Paul gets bashed up in the ring – one day Mafatu. Malo and welcome to Season 4 Episode 06 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this cloudy but warm Friday morning 06 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! In US College Football – While tickets to the Peach Bowl – one half of the US College Football semifinals, were so expensive, tickets to the Fiesta Bowl were dirt cheap at only US$390 each. And the result? Texas Christian University upset Michigan 45-51 in the highest Fiesta Bowl game ever, in a peach of a game. In football – OUCH Cristiano Ronaldo cannot play for his new Club in Saudi Arabia tonight, and more importantly in their top-of-the-table clash next week, because he has to serve out a two-game ban imposed by the Football Association, stemming from his ill-tempered action against a young opposition fan – knocking his mobile phone out of his hands, after Ronaldo’s last game in the EPL. And wait for it – both games in Saudi Arabia have sold out already – 28,000 tickets each! In rugby league – the English Super League is set to revamp their green card system which attempts to stop players feigning an injury — and you can bet, that the NRL big guns will be keeping a close eye on the rule. The green card will be used in every injury stoppage, whereby injured players will be sent from the field for two minutes to receive treatment. In boxing – former UFC fighter, Phil Baroni from Long Island, New York allegedly beat his girlfriend to death in Mexico on Sunday after she admitted to sleeping with another man. The pair were engaged in an argument inside a hotel in San Pancho when the alleged incident occurred. Baroni was arrested after he reportedly threw the woman into a shower in a fit of rage, causing her to suffer a fatal head injury. Last week Dana slaps his wife around now this jerk. What is it with these pumped up macho UFC guys? Me thinks they can’t handle their tequila. In rugby union – “You’re going to have to win all the collisions to be able to dominate and go through and win the World Cup,” former All Blacks Head Coach, Sir Steve Hansen told Newstalk ZB. It’s simple really boys, just like how Ireland did it in their historic series win against the All Blacks in New Zealand last year. We start with US College Football Semifinals – where tickets to this year’s Peach Bowl, in which Georgia State took down Ohio State 41-42 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday — were sold for north of US$50,000, with the average ticket price at US$697 and the starting price at US$495. In football – Pele is gone Long live O Rei. And Cristiano Ronaldo has gone to play in Saudi Arabia In rugby league – Broncos  young gun Tesi Niu has been granted an immediate release from the final  year of his contract at Red Hill to join Wayne Bennett’s Dolphins. In  boxing – UFC boss Dana White has dug a deep hole and is hiding in it  for a couple of weeks, after shocking video of him slapping his wife  twice across the face at a New Year’s Eve party in Mexico has gone  viral. In  rugby – Tongan international and Scarlets No. 8 Sione Kalamafoni has  been hit with a two-match ban after being sent off for punching Wales  international Ross Moriarty during their New Year's Day victory over the  Dragons. Moriarty had pulled Kalamafoni's scrum cap off from behind. Former  All Blacks Coach Sir Steve Hansen says Jordie Barrett at second  five-eighth is the biggest positive to come out of 2022 for NZ. “He’s  the man we’ve been looking for. He’s big, he’s strong, he’s fast. He’s  got a great passing game and is a wonderful kicker of the ball.” Geez is big Steve been paid for all this promo stuff or what? We start with the NFL – Buffalo  Bills safety, Damar Hamlin collapsed during his game Monday night  against the Bengals after sustaining a big hit. He stood back up but  suddenly collapsed, with medical staff rushing onto the field,  confirming later that he suffered a cardiac arrest following the hit and  his heartbeat was restored on the field. Hamlin is currently sedated  and remains in a critical condition in a Cincinnati hospital. The NFL later postponed the game. In  football – fireworks greeted the funeral procession led by the hearse  carrying the coffin of Pele through the streets of Sao Paulo last night,  after tens of thousands of Brazilians paid their personal and emotional  respects to the football legend at his Club stadium. At  midday today local time, the procession will leave the stadium and  drive by the home of his 100 year-old Mother so that she can say  farewell to her famous son on his way to a private family burial. In  rugby league - under the current ORIGIN rules, players who have resided  in New South Wales or Queensland prior to their 13th birthday are  eligible to play - unless they’ve represented England or New Zealand. So  the pressure is mounting on the NRL to change the rule ahead of the  series opener this year. In  boxing – UFC boss Dana White has issued a public apology after shocking  video emerged of him slapping his wife twice across the face as she  attempted to keep her arms up and block him at a New Year’s Eve party in  a Cabo, Mexico nightspot. White said later that they had both been drinking heavily. In rugby – Former  England boss Eddie Jones and ex-All Blacks Coach Steve Hansen are  embroiled in a tug of war over Bristol Bears and Flying Fijian superstar  Semi Radradra for the Barbarians clash against the World XV at  Twickenham in May. Jones and Hansen both want Radradra in their team. The  nutter who said to an opposition player “I’ve met your Mum, she’s a sex  worker isn’t she?” England international Prop, Joe Marler – has been  suspended for two weeks with four more weeks suspended for the rest of  this season. Malo  and welcome to Season 4 Episode 03 of Breakfast Bites, by  TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this wet but  warm Tuesday morning 03 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on the  180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! In  rugby league BREAKING NEWS - the mother of star Broncos player, Payne  Haas - Uiatu “Joan” Taufua has been charged with manslaughter over a  horror crash that killed three people on the Gold Coast on 30 December. She  has also been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a  motor vehicle, evading police and driving without a license. Former  Parramatta Eels and NZWarriors Head Coach, Daniel Anderson was rushed  to hospital after a freak surfing accident on the NSW Central Coast. The  55-year-old was body surfing when he was dumped on his neck by a big  wave and reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest as a result of the  traumatic accident. In football – the government of Brazil has declared two days of mourning leading up to the State funeral for Pele later this week. Pelé  is credited with sparking soccer’s popularity in the US when he joined  the New York Cosmos in 1975 for US$7Million, boosting crowds from their  previous record of 8000 fans to an average crowd of 43,000 at home  games, with three games with over 70,000 fans by the time he retired in  1977. In  boxing - the World Boxing Council (WBC) is starting separate categories  for transgender fighters to ensure competitors’ safety. WBC President  Mauricio Sulaiman says that the new divisions are to ensure that “the  dangers of a man fighting a woman will never happen. We will not allow —  ever — a transgender born a man to fight a woman, who was born a  woman,” he stated firmly.’ The  new rules follow controversies over transgender athletes in other  sports, most notably record-breaking US swimmer Lia Thomas. And  in Mixed Martial Arts, where in September last year, former male US  Special Forces combatant, now a woman - Alana McLaughlin choked her  female opponent into submission. Sorry so who exactly wants to watch this kinda stuff? In  rugby – “I’ve met your Mum, she’s a sex worker isn’t she?” or something  to that effect is what England international Prop, Joe Marler said to  Bristol Bears star Jake Heenan that sparked an all-in brawl during  Harlequins’ 15-12 loss to Bristol Bears. Marler later apologized for his  alleged comment. Just another day of front row politics I guess! Malo  and welcome to Season 3 Episode 90 of Breakfast Bites, by  TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this cloudy but  beautiful Friday morning 31 December 2022 – the last day of the year,  coming to you from paradise on the 180th meridian in the middle of the  Pacific Ocean ! On  this last day of 2022, remember all the good times that you experienced  through sports. There was and never will be another year quite like it,  so package it up and store it away for the good times. As for 2023, make sure you’re ready to ride that wave – bring it on baby! Rest in Peace Pele. The  King of football won his first FIFA World Cup for Brazil in 1958 at the  age of 17, scoring a hat trick in the semifinal against France and two  more goals in the final against hosts Sweden. The world had never seen anything like Pele before and before him, Brazil was relatively unknown in football. At  that 1958 World Cup, Pele launched his career and the dynasty of  Brazilian football – playing the beautiful game, thrives to this day. Pele and Brazil won the FIFA World Cup again in 1962 against Czechoslovakia in Chile and in 1970 against Italy in Mexico. The only country to have won the FIFA World Cup three times. They have won it twice more since then. Pele  was paid US$7Million in 1975 to come out of retirement and play for the  New York Cosmos in the US National American Soccer League. Rest in Peace Edson Arantes do Nascimento – long live the King of Football.
