 A Tale Of Two Glories | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 41:26

In the 17th Century, English and Scottish theologians wrote what is referred to as the “Westminster Shorter Catechism”. In it, we read this statement: “The chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.” What does it mean to “glorify God” and how can we effectively do it? Too often we live for our own glory—our accomplishments, our achievements, our desire for notoriety, etc. But as Christians, God is to be glorified in ALL that we do. Follow along in today’s study with Pastor Gary from Isaiah 39-40.

How do we respond when things don’t go our way? The Bible says that in his time of trouble, King Ahaz grew even more unfaithful to the Lord. Studying from the book of Isaiah and the life of Paul, we can learn how to better handle pain and suffering so that we can remain faithful and not lose heart.

 Why Pray? | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 39:28

Prayer is the most under-utilized gift God has given us to connect and commune with Him! We are often too busy to pray. But we are only doing ourselves a disservice! In Isaiah 38, King Hezekiah gets word from God that his life is about to come to an end. So he prays a simple prayer and, in response, God adds 15 years to his life! What are the benefits available to us through prayer? Why is it important to pray? Join Pastor Gary for a study today on this topic from Isaiah 38.

Out Of The Desert | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 33:49

Life is filled with its share of trials and tribulations. We often describe these times like a “desert experience.” Isaiah writes about this theme in Chapter 35 and how God will once again cause the desert to bloom and cause the redeemed of the Lord to be crowned with joy. In its future interpretation, Isaiah is speaking of the Millennial Kingdom when Christ will rule and reign on Earth for 1000 years. But in its near interpretation, he writes about God’s sustaining grace through the trials of everyday life. In 1925 a wonderful Daily Devotional was written by Lettie B. Cowman entitled, Streams in the Desert. It was inspired by Isaiah 35:6 and it is still published today after more than 90 years! Born out of her own personal anguish, this Devotional speaks of how Christ refreshed her like a Stream in the Desert. Join Pastor Gary for today’s study from Isaiah 35 entitled, “Out of the Desert.”

God Is Waiting For You | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 36:20

In today’s study, Pastor Gary examines the problem Judah had of turning to Egypt for help against the Assyrian army instead of turning to God. It wasn’t until they had depleted their resources and exhausted their own efforts that the people of Judah finally turned to God. When they did, God wasn’t angry and did not shame His people. There were no “I warned you” or “you should have listened to me” or “I told you so” comments. Instead God had been waiting for them and eagerly helped them because he is a gracious and compassionate God. And that’s how he treats us too. If you’ve been estranged from God, or if you’ve become exhausted trying to do life without Him; if you have a hard time trusting God and surrendering to Him, then follow along in today’s study entitled, “God is Waiting for You.”

All Talk But No Walk | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 33:59

Hypocrisy plagues us all. All of us are inconsistent from time to time with the way we live or talk or evaluate others in relation to ourselves. One of the worst types of hypocrisy is how we relate to God. This was the problem with the Jewish people in Isaiah’s day. He accuses them of honoring God with their lips (giving God lip service), but not their hearts. Did you know that according to a recent survey by the Barna Group that “hypocrisy” is the number one reason Millennials (those in their 20’s and early 30’s) give for why they don’t want to attend church? Hypocrisy is sin. It not only causes God to be dishonored, but it causes unbelievers to be disillusioned. Join Pastor Gary for today’s teaching on hypocrisy entitled, “All Talk but No Walk.”

Jesus Our Cornerstone | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 36:53

Seven hundred years before Christ, Isaiah prophesies about the Messiah being a “precious cornerstone.” A cornerstone is the beginning point of a building. It’s the foundational stone upon which all other stones are aligned. Isaiah uses building imagery to describe Jesus this way because He is the foundation of the Church and of our salvation. But in addition, Christ-followers need to ask whether or not He is the cornerstone of every aspect of their lives. In other words, does everything in our lives “square” with Jesus as the Cornerstone, or is He simply only a small brick in the wall of our lives? Open your Bible to Isaiah 28:16 for today’s study with Pastor Gary.
