Join us as Pastor Gary answers questions related to the topic of God's character.
An in-depth study of Exodus 12.
In today’s Palm Sunday message, Pastor Gary reminds us of the unmet expectations the people felt when Jesus came into Jerusalem as Messiah. Their idea of “Savior” was not one who would die on a cross for their sins, but one who would overthrow Roman occupation and usher in the Jewish Nation. When that didn’t happen, the people rejected Him altogether and crucified Him. What do we do when God doesn’t do what we think He should do? How do we handle life’s disappointments and heartaches when God doesn’t show up the way we had hoped? Pastor Gary addresses that with some suggestions from Scripture in today’s teaching entitled, “Unmet Expectations.”
Solomon comes to a final conclusion about life and God as he writes the Epilogue to Ecclesiastes. He seems to come full circle from one who tried to live life without God, to one who realizes that life without God is utterly meaningless. After his search for fulfillment through wine, women, work, and wealth, Solomon finally realizes that nothing and no one can bring satisfaction in life like a relationship with the Lord. Join Pastor Gary for today’s conclusion to the book of Ecclesiastes.
Join us as Pastor Gary answers questions related to the topics of Heaven & Hell.
For someone who does not know the Lord, this life is as good as it gets. But for someone who knows the Lord, this life is as bad as it gets. One person lives with this world in mind, the other lives with the promise of heaven in mind. Solomon was someone who was living his life with this world in mind because he had lost sight of God. As a result, he writes about how “meaningless” life was; how unfulfilled life was. But it doesn’t need to be that way! Jesus died on the cross to save us from sin and death so that we could spend eternity with Him. Join Pastor Gary as he unpacks more lessons from the book of Ecclesiastes.
An in-depth study of 1 Thessalonians 5.
The Bible teaches that it’s not only important to worship the right God, but it’s also important to worship the right God the right way. In Ecclesiastes 5, Solomon says that there’s a right way and a wrong way to worship God. Worship is not just about “singing” (though that’s part of it). Worship is living a God-ward life of reverence and devotion to Him, and Solomon explains that there’s a right “protocol” for coming into the House of God. Pastor Gary shares a practical study about how we should prepare ourselves for meeting God when we come to church.
An in-depth study of Judges 6-7.
Pastor Stephan Tchividjian shares on the life, legacy, and Biblical characteristics of his grandfather, Dr. Billy Graham. Join us as we remember Billy Graham through the eyes of his grandson and learn how those characteristics can apply to our lives as well.
An in-depth study of 1 Thessalonians 4.
Have you ever looked at all the evil, injustice, and oppression in the world and wondered where God was in all of that? Solomon did. And many people do today too. It causes some to question the existence of God, or the goodness of God, or the meaning of life. But Pastor Gary offers a perspective that will bring hope and comfort to all who have been impacted by the injustice and wickedness of our world.
An in-depth study of 1 Thessalonians 2-3.
Time is divided into 2 aspects—temporal and eternal. There are some things that will expire and come to an end (temporal), and some things that have no ending (eternal). What separates the temporal from the eternal—as far as it concerns us—is a matter of life and death. Solomon talks about all these things in chapter 3—life, death, judgment, and eternity. Listen as Pastor Gary explains how temporal life is and how inevitable death is, but how undeniable eternity is for us who believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior!
