Should the federal government be involved in education, regulating standardization, curriculum, and bathroom policies? We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  2016 was an interesting year to say the least.  As we enter into 2017, one of the traditions is to make New Year goals.  1973 was a dark year for babies and since then over 57 million babies have been aborted.  The pro-life movement has had an impact but largely been co-opted nationally by leaders who are not serious about ending abortion now!  This New Years episode, Marcus Pittman from Apologia Studios joins us to discuss their fundraiser to EndAbortionNow.com and their plan to 1) equip the church, 2) create a media infrastructure, and 3) lastly apply pressure on local, state and federal governments to finally, once and for all, End abortion now.  May God fill movements like these with the Holy Spirit to end abortion in 2017, and may the church be ready for all the gospel issues that will follow the end of abortion.  Make this your New Years resolution to pray for the end of abortion in 2017.  Hope you enjoy this episode! American Christianity has surrendered ground in areas that have supposed “little gospel application”.  But the Lordship of Christ is over every area of our lives, and this means the gospel applies to everything–including our healthcare.  Dr. Jim Brook, author of The High Price of Socialized Medicine, joins us to discuss why the free market would provide higher quality, cheaper healthcare in contrast to Obamacare.  Dr. Brook runs his own practice, and rejects health insurance in order to keep his pricing low and his service focused on the patient.Jesus is Lord overall, and as we seek to bring every thought captive under Christ, this should include our understanding of healthcare and economics.

Why is the church is so impotent when it comes to impacting culture?  According to the Pew Research Center evangelicals make up about 70% of the US population, and yet why are we so impotent at influencing our culture for the good of our country and the glory of God?  Pastor Doug Wilson joins us to discuss why pastors should be contrarians and why church worship is central for changing culture.  We also discuss Pastor Wilson’s latest book Empire of Dirt (which you can find here) and Rules for Reformers (here).  Lastly we tackle more Trump, Bill Maher, and why Kanye West would vote for Trump.
