 SMRPodcast #165: Lil Bit 9.0 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:34:00

BlackBerry Live and Google I/O are over, the Xbox One has been announced, and episode #169 of the SMRpodcast has been recorded. This week the crew jumps right into with talk of the Xbox One. Needless to say, Chris and Robb are on board and eagerly anticipating the launch. Rod is a bit concerned that the new Connect is always listening to you. A lot of coolness came out of Google I/O last week. Robb really likes the photo features added to Google+ and Rod comes around and admits that the animated GIFs are "kind of cute". Chris is still all about posting images to Facebook, as is most of Earth. It will be interesting to see if all of the new Google+ features can get more people to use it. Yahoo! picked up tumblr for $1.1 billion and promises not to screw it up, Flickr is now offering a Terabyte of storage for free, and Skype is no longer a secure means of communication. We've got all this, our picks, and more in episode #165 of the SMRpodcast...  SMRpodcast #164 : I Definitely, Probably | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:24:00

SMRpodcast #164 is online and ready for download. This week BlackBerry Live and Google I/O kick off and we dive right into BlackBerry news and Google rumors. BlackBerry announced that that they are taking BBM cross platform and bringing it to Android and iOS. There was no mention of BBM for Windows Phone or a desktop client, so, BBM wont' be truly cross platform. There are rumors that Google will announce a streaming music service at I/O this week. Chris wonders if, with so many other streaming options, it will catch on beyond people who live completely in Google's ecosystem. Robb thinks that even if it doesn't, so many people do live in Google Land that it is probably worth the effort... And it beats Apple and Amazon to their respective streaming services ... Windows Blue will be free, Amazon launches Virtual Currency, and Telsa sales are beating BMW, Mercedes and Audio in Q1. We've got all this plus our picks in episode #164 of the SMRpodcast. None of us would be willing to $1500 for Google Glass, but, we all probably would get one once the price comes down. We also think that that other companies will come out with their version of Google Glass, as, wearable computing is here to stay. In other news it looks like tax-free online shopping is going bye-bye, Microsoft sells 500 million copies of Windows 8 in roughly the same amount of time as they did Windows 7, and the next XBox will not require an always on internet connection.
