It was a big day at Monarch Fields in Sydney on Sunday as it was NSW GAA Championship Finals time with no less than three teams in all four codes looking to add championship titles to league honours garnered earlier in the season. In Mens and Ladies senior football, Cormac McAnallens were looking to add to their league success, Michael Cusacks were looking to do likewise in their hurling clash with fierce rivals and 2011 championship victors’ Sydney Shamrocks, while in Camogie league winners Central Coast were also looking to get on the double. It’s that time of the year again when the North American GAA National Finals take place and this time around all roads lead to that grand old city, Philadelphia. The North American County Board (NACB) was founded back in Philly in 1959 and it’s only fitting that the Nationals should come calling home once in a while. The games run over three days starting on Friday August 31 and involves teams from every corner of America. To give us a sense of the occasion we speak to NACB GAA PRO Tim Flanagan. 14:05

Last year’s London senior football champions Fulham Irish showed that their victory was no fluke as they beat the form team Tir Chonaill Gaels on Saturday to take the first major trophy of this year, the Tipperary Cup. The game turned out to be a thriller and to take us through it and the rest of the weekend’s schedule, which turned out to be a limited one, is London GAA PRO Declan Flanagan. 15:53
If you are a follower of Gaelic Sports in Sydney, Monarch Fields was the place to be on Sunday as the much anticipated semi finals of this year’s NSW GAA Championships were down for decision. Teams in all four codes in mens and ladies football as well as hurling and camogie were all vying for final places in two weeks time and here to give us a report on the day’s action is Joint NSW PRO Micheal O’Laochdha. 18:41

As the athletes of the world were getting ready to bid farewell to the Olympics last weekend, London GAA was upping the antic with last round games in the men’s senior football championship and important games also in senior hurling down for decision. Tir Chonaill Gaels have looked the form team in football all season while in hurling Kilburn Gaels have also looked the one’s to beat. At Gaelic Park Willawong in Brisbane over the weekend three Queensland GAA League titles were decided with a fourth having to wait until midweek before a winner is declared. Going into this weekend John Mitchell’s were in a strong position to take the ladies football title, Tara were favorites to take the Camogie league, in hurling Na Fianna had already sealed victory, but the mens division 1 football race was still alive with East Celts taking on Harps on Sunday. Following Sunday’s Queensland GAA League action at Willawong’s Gaelic Park in Brisbane, Australia we can now safely say that Na Fianna are the hurling league winners and that Souths have taken the Division 2 Men’s Football title. However there is still a bit of housekeeping to do in the men’s and ladies Division 1 Football as well as in Camogie. It was crunch time in the New South Wales GAA Championship yesterday at Monarch Fields as four teams in all four codes in the final round in regulation were striving to make it into this year’s semi finals. Here to take us through Sunday’s action is NSW GAA Joint PRO Sean Grogran. 21:16
It was a busy weekend of London GAA last Saturday and Sunday with round 2 action in the mens senior football and hurling championship. The highlight game in senior football saw a clash of last year’s league winners Kingdom Kerry Gaels up against championship victors Fulham Irish, while in hurling high flying Kilburn Gaels were taking on holders’ Robert Emmetts. Sunday saw two games in men’s senior football, division 2 football, one game in hurling and a further game in ladies football the result of which ended in a shock. The first round of the Toronto Mens Senior Football Championship took place last weekend with the team to beat this year in action, league table-topper’s St. Mikes. In the first game of the day at Centennial Park Sunday, Mikes took on Durham, who had a respectable league campaign, while the second clash pitted the evenly matched St. Pats v Brampton.
