And it's episode 300!! We've invited Frog into the studio for this huge milestone in k&k history, where we do what can only be described as The Longest Skit Ever and we reveal our exciting plans for episode 333! Then Froprah comes out to play and we reminisce about the last 300 episodes - we talk about our favourite moments of the show, some of the different locations we've recorded from, our expectations from doing the podcast, the Muffin Man's role in all the shenaniganry, the beginning of the k&k Empire and the Pebble story, whether we've thought about quitting the podcast, our friendship and how it has made the podcast work, and whether we hold back about anything on the show. It's a long one, but it's one of our best ever.
With the lovely Frog in the k&k boudoir for episode 299, you can rest assured that things get saucy. We talk about a myriad of things, including Johnny Hallyday, heavy breathing, Star Wars, Flaming Hoochie Coochies, presents from listeners, Green Paradise, the Sound of Music and musical theatre!
Steve is still in the k&k boudoir for episode 298, and after he creates some pretty special sound bites for us, we talk about almost-concrete plans for episode 333, then Steve tells us about a project he's been participating in : 60by80, we talk about fruit and karaoke, then Kylie gives us a French movie-going update.
We're terribly excited episode 297, as we welcome Steve to the k&k boudoir. We reminisce about episode 200, spend quite some time opening a present from a lovely listener, get on a massive sugar high and discuss the massive museum strike that has hit France. We get into a hugely dramatic argument, then we discuss plate spinning, mixing food and fussyness.
In episode 296 we chat about where we want to travel in the next year, the importance of good travel partners, platypus, Carla Bruni, whether presidential partners have the right to have a life of their own and gatecrashing parties.
In episode 295 Katia gives an update on her arm, there is much chatting about television shows (Monk, Fringe, X-Files, Lost, X-Factor), spoilers and commercials, and we get distracted by Symphony a number of times. We talk about Kylie's dress sense, movie-watching, traditional thanksgiving foods and thankfulness, and Kylie tells us some stories of cooking with the boys, then Katia gets excited about Christmas decorations and Symphony's brand twitter account.
In episode 294 we're a bit delirious, and get to chatting about the new k&k forum, spankings and reading in French, then Kylie gives us a movie update and we natter about tv shows again.
Get ready for a bit of drama in episode 293, where we talk about hyperconnectivity, cough medicine, the birthday month of november, gas masks, insect bites and a visit to the ER, meeting up with listeners and booty calls, and the introduction of our brand new forum.
It's all about pop culture in episode 292, as we talk about glitter, zombie movies, the swine flu, song parties and how on earth Kylie actually knows something about one current musical artist. Kylie then tells us about her computer woes and we get very distracted by talking about some of our favourite tv shows (The Office, HIMYM, Glee, True Blood, Lost, Eastwick,...), and we finish off by chatting a bit about Thanksgiving. This episode was brought to you by the word "une chanson" (a song). Psssst. While you're here, you should definitely check out our new and improved forum!
We start off episode 291 by determining whether Kylie has ebola or not, then we chat about her recent visit to the Maison de Balzac and the prefecture, we talk about meeting listeners and the birthday month of November, Katia recounts visiting the Musée de l'Automobile in Mulhouse and we finish off with an update on Kylie's French movie-going experience. This episode was brought to you by the word "une voiture" (a car).
In episode 290, Katia gets very excited as she recounts a tale of gastronomy, fancy-pants-ness and a celebration of mushrooms. Add in a few prickles and a bit of hospital drama, and you've got a somewhat interesting episode. This episode was brought to you by the word "la gastronomie" (gastronomy).
As we chomp on Halloween goodies sent to us by a lovely listener in episode 289, we chat about preparations for episode 333 and what Kylie did when she visited Disney, we get distracted by X-Factor (ie. the horrificness of Jedward and the nit-invasion), then Kylie tells us what she did and where she went for her holidays (including a visit with the lovely Vivi and playing Wii-Fit Plus with Kimmeh & David). This episode was brought to you by the word "des poux" (head lice / nits).
We've got more delicious UNPLUGGED action in episode 288 with quite a few random ramblings from the last few months. We chat about The Office and how Kylie has never seen it, horror movies and the pronounciation of this particular genre, café experiences and café culture and falling in the Seine, you'll hear a little bit more from our mini-break in Normandy, we talk more about our (not so) secret hatreds and smoking in airports. This episode was brought to you by the word "tomber" (to fall).
Even though we are traipsing around France this weekend, we refuse to leave you with nothing to listen to, so we are proud to present some more unplugged action in episode 287, where we talk about feeding the pigeons, how Frog really feels about trees and what happens during "muck week" and on the weekends in a boarding house. Be warned : there is RANtAGE. This episode was brought to you by the phrase "point barre" (full stop / period).
We get to chatting about many and varied things in episode 286, such as Daylight Savings and time changes across the world, the role that the Babysitters Club has played in Katia's understanding of American culture and the tv shows we watched when we were growing up. Kylie then tells us about going to a concert, how Spotify helped her appreciate it and going to Katiefornia's birthday party, then we talk about All Saints Day, Halloween and Disney, and we finish off with some fruit. This episode was brought to you by the word "Toussaint" (All Saints Day).
