I chose Daredevil this week because it's always been a favorite of mine and the fact that it is so sorely remembered is criminal. Between Colin Ferrels insane Bullseye the undeniable chemistry between Jennifer Garner and Ben Afleck, the back and forth with Jon Favreau and Afleck. theres alot of great in this film. Obviously mistakes were made pre theatrical release with heavy studio manipulation and 30 minutes being cut from the film. We are watching and discussing the directors cut as its the closest thing we have to what the film makers intended us to enjoy. Let us know what you think did we miss anything? Have some different opinions you'd like to add we'd love to hear from you. Please enjoy and share us with a friend.
Sylvia and I had never even heard of this weeks pick which is exactly why Bob chose this one. It's an interesting idea brought to film after the success of Star Wars (a New Hope). strikingly beautiful visuals are drowned in terrible dialogue and fantastic actors are seemingly handcuffed to cardboard performances but it has fun campy moments and definitely deserves a revisit. Sylvia loves the Puppet Master franchise. So now we have to watch it too. Personally i didn't care for this one but I can see it has a following and I will watch the worst movies in the world for my beautiful wife. James had to miss this one due to scheduling issues and general good luck. if you like what you heart please subscribe and consider recommending us to a friend. email us moviesagainsttime@gmail.com for a mention on the show. James's pick this week was Joel Schumacher's 1987 horror classic the lost Boys. Sylvia and Dustin had never seen the film while Bob and James are long time fans. Listen and subscribe to find out if it's a movie that stands against TIME!!!
This movie was a blast to revisit, The mixture of Brandon Lee, Ernie Hudson and Micheal Wincott turned out something truely beautiful despite the troubles that would plague the filming. We all really enjoyed ourselves with this one and hope that you enjoy it with us.
Join us this week as we revisit the 1987 classic comedic / fantasy The Princess Bride. [Trigger warning] Sylvia's a big poopoo head and doesn't like it, cue Vizziny INCONCEIVABLE. we share some laughs as we go over the great and unfortunately the not so great in this epic adventure.
What holiday season would be complete without rehashing the 31 year old debate; Is Die Hard a Christmas movie. This movie launched the careers of 2 of our favorite actors Alan Rickman and Bruce Willis into stardom. The quarterback IS toast.
Wow! What an awesome film to revisit. Sylvia unfortunately was under the weather and had to miss a horror film. James, Bob and Dustin try not to spend an hour and a half trying to prove who likes Bruce Campbell more. The Evil Dead directed by a young Sam Raimi and starring Bruce Campbell is a masterclass in the marriage of camp and terror. 5 college students retreat to a secluded cabin for a weekend of partying only to find demons also inhabit the woods. If you like our show why not show some love with a 5 star review or a tweet to your friends.
Stanley Kubricks psychological thriller based on Stephen Kings novel, Is creepy on all the levels. James Autumn joins us on our (hour and a half long!) look back at The Shining. Email us at moviesagainsttime@gmail.com @moviesagainst @bearclaw_bob and @Thejamesautumn on twitter
This week Dustin picked Eddie Murphy's Dr. Dolittle. This movie was almost undoubtedly a movie, of that we're sure.
Bobs pick this week is the John Carpenter directed Stephen King classic thriller, Christine. We enjoyed this one and we think you shitters will like it too.
