Summary: How do I walk in the spirit? A relationship with the Holy Spirit can be formed by meditating upon His word night and day. Show notes: • How do we wake our spirit? Spending time talking with Him. • Read the Word. Find a principle, a passage of scripture something that the Holy Spirit is speaking to you. • Sleep on it. Wake up the next morning Open your heart and God will begin to speak to you. • Listening all night long to recorded material including scriptures and prerecorded messages. This will minister to you in your sleep. Upon waking up it has sparked your spirit. • Connecting to your spirit, finding more ways to know Him, to please Him and love Him. References: Peter 1:3b 3b. What happened at Gilgal? God did it again. He delivered His people into His promises and fulfillment by rolling away the reproach of Egypt. Show Notes: • Moses has died and Joshua is now the leader. The sons of those who died in the wilderness were preparing to go in to possess the promise land. • Passover was celebrated at Gilgal. It was a repeat of the Passover in Egypt. They passed over on dry land. • The Passover at Gilgal was the rolling away the reproach of Egypt. God established a pattern of Passover. • The Captain of the Lord of Host revealed Himself to Joshua as leader and lead the Israelites into the promise land. • Passover is all about the delivery of God's nature and His plan for us is to be His worshippers. He said, "No, rather I indeed come now as captain of the host of the Lord." It was the act of obedience to circumcision that rolled away the reproach of Egypt. The age we live in, it is God circumcising your heart, cutting away the old.
What is intercession? Intercession is reminding God about a person or a situation. Christ bore the sins of many and interceded for the transgressors. Show Notes: • An intercessor positions themselves between a person or situation and God. The intercessors remind God of the word over that person or situation. • Where is Christ right now? He is at the right hand of the Father day and night pleading our case to the Father • You are being an intercessor by channeling the Holy Spirit. Quotes: • God, there is this guy over here who needs you and I am going to tell you all about him. • We have a cry for others to see them set free. • There is a relationship. Less of you, more of Him, more effectiveness, more focus, more of the Holy Spirit through you. Take away: It is a relationship that an intercessor has. Let the Blood of Christ cover the situation. My intercession is that the will of the God be done.
God is our Father, and He wants to relate with us. Take your will and set it on the Lord. He wants our all from a freewill offering. Invite Him into what we are doing at; work, play, family etc. Show notes: • If you are going to walk with God, you are going to spend time with Him. • Tithe your time the same as you would tithe your money. • The cry of our hearts is to give Him our all. • It is out of a heart of love. • It is not a duty or an obligation. • Take your will and set your spirit to be doing what God is leading you to do. • It is our whole life walking before God. • There is a balance, He understands you have other responsibilities throughout your day. • Take short or small times to contact the Lord. • It comes from Loving the Lord with all your heart. • He will never waste a minute of your time. • He will bring you to a balance , to a maturity. What is the will of God for today? Through scriptural references and spiritual experiences the family relates the gift from God to us of a free will and how we put it to work to bring forth His Kingdom on this earth. Show Notes: • It is a principle that I know that we are trying to reach into and learn how to forget the things that are past, reach into the new today and dump the old. • God is reaching out to us through His different names. He is showing us who He really is. • Exodus 6 tells us that God appeared to Moses as God Almighty. In Joshua 5 He appears as the Captain of the Lord of Host, He also appears to us as the Deliverer. God has a thousand faces. • People pray all the time, but it is fruitless because they are not praying for His will. • We cannot put God in a box, He can do so much more than what we can ask or think. • God in His love and His wisdom will hold you in His will until you are complete. Not my will but thine be done. Takeaway: God has given humanity a free will, he is looking for a freewill offering of love, worship, and obedience back to Him.
People pray like beggars, thinking that they have to do something to earn God's provision. All of God's provision was already provided for us by His son through the cross. As our awareness grows of the residing Holy Spirit, Christ and the Father within us, our attitude of prayer changes from looking to a God apart from us, and realizing that He dwells within us. Our form of prayer begins to be a proclamation of what is already ours. As our Lord taught us, we proclaim “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done!” Show Notes: • In the scriptures Christ travailed in prayer there are prayers of appropriation knock the door is open, you ask, and it is yours. • Prayer initiates with God making all things available to you. • It is not about praying to a God out there and begging or talking to a God up in heaven, but realizing He is within our heart s • The Lord’s prayer is a teaching of how to pray. thy Kingdom come thy will be done. • Check your relationship with the Father, h ow deeply is your relationship with the Father? If you have a relationship with the father like Christ does, he said I only do the things I see the Father do. I only speak what my father speaks. Your preparation and daily communion with the Lord is basic to anyone's walk with the Lord. Questions such as “What does it mean to wait on the Lord,” or How should I read the scriptures,” should be of uppermost concern for those who truly want a deep relationship with the Lord. Spending time in the Word, waiting on Him and your daily worship is the foundation of your relationship with the Lord, and the foundation of your relationship to those who you relate to in the Body of Christ. Without this preparation of your spirit, you are missing what the Lord would speak and impart to you in everyday life. When you assemble with the family of God it is all about active participation not passive observation. Show Notes: • Your time before the Lord in Worship, waiting on Him, reading His Word is all a time of preparing yourself for your daily walk with Him. • Functioning as a man or woman of God requires an anointing from Him and that comes from time spent with Him. • Preparing yourself to speak and hear a Word from God is a way of life. • Walking with God is not a spectator sport! • The point is He wants to have a relationship with you, and you can't have that unless you are doing something in the relationship. • Start each day with a meeting with the Lord. He has given us all things, why do we pray or act like beggars? “Every promise in the Book is mine….” What are some actions that we can take to show how we believe what the scriptures say? Show Notes: We who believe, He has given us everything pertaining to life and Godliness. He has already provided everything to have a revelation and an awareness of that provision, change your attitude of the way you pray and approach the father. There are actions that we must do to appropriate the provision. How much do we miss because of our unawareness of the Lord and the provisions that are ours? The Holy Spirit will show us the things that we can do. The little things snow ball, a little here, a little there. We want to live by the promises in the scriptures; and the only honest way to do that is know what the scriptures give us as promises. Are there disappointments with God or situations? Is there a legitimate cause for these disappointments? How do we end disappointments? How do we get faith? Show Notes: Let’s talk about disappointments, and how we can help people get past disappointments by eliminating that deception that is creating them. Many times we are believing something or for something that god has not spoken. Faith comes by hearing and hearing from a Word from God. Faith is a gift; How do we receive this gift? When god speaks a Word that creates faith Faith never dies it is eternal as long as that faith is in your spirit and you are feeding it and caring for it and walking in it. Do not try to do something on a human level. Take the time to write it down, what you believe, go through each point and find out what Word from God gave me that Faith. It has to be an experience where God meets you in the Word. Then take action on that Word. You cannot manufacture it by yourself, you can't say I want to do this thing and work up faith for it, It is so important to get confirmation.
Are we interpreting what the scripture says? Or are we getting Revelation? It is the Holy Spirit that reveals Jesus and all that the Father has given Him. Without hunger, there will be no reaching into to get a revelation. “Today if you Hear my voice…..” Show notes: • Christianity as a whole has gotten away from trusting in the leading of the Holy Spirit as seen in the scriptures. • It is up to us to open up and receive that same word that is coming by the holy Spirit. • The breaking down of resistance, walls, is the beginning of opening up and hearing from the Holy Spirit. • I loose the Spirits of the people to come alive in a drive to want to know who the Father is, who Jesus is, Who the Holy Spirit is to teach us who they are. How do we relate to the Lord? What is a relationship with the Lord? God wants a relationship with us more than we want one with Him.
