Most people think that when you have a migraine, it has to be associated with full blown aura. You know, the dots that you're seeing in front of your eyes or that you're in the bathroom, constantly getting sick. And that's not the case. There are many different levels of migraines. And the scale that we use in the freedom from migraine method is a scale of one to 10. So think about level one to three being I'm annoyed. I have a little, you know, what they call headaches. Maybe I'm going to take an Advil or Tylenol and it's going to go away, but it's still affecting your day. It is still making it difficult for you to do the things you want to do. Level four to six is more okay.   I'm probably taking my prescription med that the doctor gave me, you know, I'm really not feeling well, but I have to go to work. I have to watch my kids. I'm going to have to take that Imitrex. I don't have a choice. Then you hit that 7, 8, 9. That's when you're in bed, that's when you're throwing up. Autoimmune disease is estimated to impact between 23-50 million people in the United State alone. The National Institute of Health's more conservative estimation of 23.5 million only includes 24 identified autoimmune diseases. Up to 140 diseases and conditions are suspected to have roots in autoimmunity.   Autoimmune disease can be a chronic or life threatening condition.    If you have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, your doctor has probably explained that your body's immune system is confused and has mistakenly developed antibodies to healthy tissue in your body because it thinks it is a foregin invader.    Your Immune cells are a vital part of your body's repair and maintenance system. It is the immune cell's job to attack, destroy and dissolve those foreign cells to keep your system healthy. However, in autoimmune disease, these immune cells attack healthy tissue, damaging and destroying them and creating widespread, chronic inflammation and scar tissue in the process.   Why would you immune system do this?  . . . Welcome to the thriving diary podcast. (01:29): Welcome back to today's episode. You guys I had this episode planned out and I'm going to tell you reasons for fatigue. There's so many reasons, and it's kind of overwhelming because in an episode like this, you don't want to forget anything. Now, what I was thinking in the process of putting this together, putting the outline together was every medical condition that I can think of. If you go onto pub med, if you go Google search, you're going to find fatigue as one of the symptoms, right? You can have headaches and have fatigue and hypothyroidism and have fatigue. Hashimoto's fatigue, lupus, fatigue RA fatigue, right? And the list goes on diabetes, fatigue because fatigue is a sign that the body needs to shut down for a period of time. And that shut down is when our body works on healing, restoring, resetting, rejuvenating, all of those words to repair the damage that is happening internally, right? (02:50): Because instead of focusing on watching TV, instead of focusing on digesting food, instead of focusing on all these other things, our body literally goes to sleep and gets to work on whatever it needs to work on. The kidney, the liver, the intestines, the, the brain function, all of the different organs and systems inside the body. Your immune system can start to take over and to fight off viruses, bacteria, fungus, mold, parasites, whatever it may be. Right. So let's just dive in today and we'll kind of see where we land. Welcome to the thriving gyro podcast. (01:27): When I talk to a lot of women, there's a lot of fear around iodine and there's tons of information out there. Every blogger has a different opinion on if you should take it, if you shouldn't take it, what kind you taking, how much you to be taking so on and so forth. So I wanted to combine the research that I have done along with clinical practice on what I recommend you to do and where to start when you are considering using iodine. So first let's talk about Victoria. So Victoria was, was a 49 year old woman who had many symptoms related to obesity. Her weight was as high as 275 pounds, and she was suffering from several Soph esophagus imbalances, a lot of things like ger acid reflux, things like that. And she also was diagnosed with second and hyper pituitary thyroidism kidney stones, ulcers, chronic stiff neck stress irritability before meals, and she couldn't skip meals. (02:35): She was also experiencing anxiety and she did not enjoy her job very well. Victoria's first hair analysis was someone unusual with the focus on low patterns of low sodium and the low potassium ratio, meaning she's stressed, she's overworked, she's her mind is racing all the time. And it also revealed the high levels of lead mercury, arsenic and aluminum. When you are traveling with a special diet, it's important to use these resources and really just plan ahead.   Trip advisor.com is a fabulous resource to check out restaurants where you are traveling to before you arrive. And this gives you the opportunity to review restaurants and menus before you leave. Do you guys love eating out? I know I love the convenience.   I love having not having to plan something out and cook and clean and do all the things necessary to have a meal at home.
