Double Impact show

Double Impact

Summary: Tristan + Greg are a couple of 90s kids from down under, on a mission to re-watch every movie that meant something from their childhood. Each episode they review a 'classic' film from the 80s or 90s, and determine how it stacks up in the modern era. We use the term classic very loosely.

 Road House (1989) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:57:17

005 - in our 5th episode we look back at fashion icon, John Dalton (brought to life with brutality and grace by Patrick Swayze) in the 1989 classic, Road House. Hot off the heels of Dirty Dancing, Swayze looks to clean up a 'small town' with a suspiciously high volume of bar goers and undesireables, the majority of which appear to carry large knives.

 Honey I Shrunk the Kids (1989) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:59:51

004 - We go back the furthest we have gone so far in the series - 1989. What happens when three horror writers decide to write a kids movie? What heights would Rick Moranis-Mania hit? Why did that cookie look so damn delicious?

 Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:51:55

003 - In today's episode, we go all the way back to 1991 where a god-like creature named Dolph, and his trusty sidekick, Brandon Lee, unconsciously explore the problematic themes of the early 90's. Is it sexist? Maybe. Is it racist? Probably. Did we drink too many beers before we recorded? Definitely.

 Billy Madison (1995) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:56:29

002 - We look back at the film that launched the 'Happy Madison' empire, asking the big questions like: "why does he talk like that?", "who keeps a port-a-loo inside a tent?" and of course "is this movie actually any good?"

 Batman Forever (1995) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:52:08

001 - For our first episode, we look back at the forgotten Batman, the in-between Batman, the middle-child Batman - Batman Forever. Does the first non-Burton hold up today? Or is it simply a Bat-nipple prequel?
