Kari Pearce is making her 6th career appearance at the CrossFit Games and is one of the five women who will be competing at the Ranch in Aromas, California in October. She joins Sean and Tommy to talk about her performance throughout Stage 1, what is was like competing in a virtual format, the lessons she's learned from her prior appearances at the Games and how her abs helped her start her own business.

It's the Dave Castro hat trick!  CrossFit's Director of Sport sits down with Sean and Tommy to talk about Stage 1 of the 2020 Reebok CrossFit Games, what we can expect for Stage 2, and the latest on a season structure for 2021 for all the divisions involved.  Find out what surprised him the most about the first 7 events that were held last weekend, what he would change, his process of programming for an event and if the theme we saw for Stage 1 may carry over into Stage 2.  

It's so nice to be talking about competition again!  Stage 1 of the 2020 Reebok CrossFit Games is in the books and there were plenty of great moments throughout the weekend.  Sean and Tommy give their picks for the best ones on this edition of Podium Picks.  Monster lifts, clutch coaching, epic comebacks, stellar consistency and lightning fast times are all somewhere on the list, but which one is the best?  The competition is over, but the debate is just beginning!

We are down to the final 5!  We know the men and women who will be coming to Aromas to compete in person.  Sean and Tommy take a look back on the weekend that was and welcome a special guest to help them break down the programming.  Then it's on to the competition!  What were the biggest surprises and most impressive performances?  Who impressed and who disappointed?  Who will wind up on the podium when it's all said and done?  Regardless, it's great to be talking about the Games once again!

It's CrossFit Games week!  Official Friend of the Show Brian Friend joins Sean and Tommy to break down the events that have been announced and to analyze the 30 female athletes who are vying for a trip to Aromas.  They also revisit the men's side of things now that most of the events are known.  Which events could be the difference makers, what athletes will surprise and which ones could disappoint?  Plus, we learn patience pays off and excuses don't matter in this week's edition of Crazy Things We Saw.

The 80s and 90s were the golden age of video games.  On this edition of Podium Picks, Sean and Tommy rank their top games from the 20th century.   it's time to take a trip back to your childhood with coin-op classics, console gems and games that touched off brand new genres. These throwbacks had us staying up all night with our friends or spending way too much money at the local arcade. Grab your controller and a roll of quarters, settle into your favorite gaming chair and enjoy!

The CrossFit Games are creeping closer.  We give you the latest news on the virtual phase of competition and what you can expect from a media standpoint.  Some of the top teens in CrossFit are heading to The Pit Fitness Ranch this weekend to close out their seasons.  There was a lot of feedback on our idea for a new season.  Some of it was good and some we just don't understand.  Plus, Crazy Things We Saw This Week and why Tommy has a good chance of winning his fantasy football league's championship.

The athletes are always the main attraction at the CrossFit Games, but the equipment they use can often steal the spotlight.  From the small but important to the giant and formidable, Sean and Tommy go through their top pieces of Games equipment on this edition of Podium Picks.  Some are eye-catching, others are game-changing but all have helped provide some great tests and memorable moments at the CrossFit Games. 

Lt. Ronald Perez has been with the NYPD for 18 years.  He is one of the people who helped open NYPD CrossFit a little more than a year ago. Recently, NYPD CrossFit has been partnering with Afrobrutality to spread the message of fitness to underserved communities.  We talk about with Lt. Perez about why he got into law enforcement, starting NYPD CrossFit and the things he's learned through the community workouts he and his fellow officers are helping to organize.

What should the new CrossFit Games season look like?  How do you blend the Sanctioned Events with the old Regional structure and create a season that is easy to understand and extremely exciting?  We're pretty confident we've finally figured it out.  Sean Woodland and Chase Ingraham pitch their idea for a new Games season to Tommy Marquez and Bill Grundler.  Take a listen and see if you're on board.  We think you're gonna like it!

An actual in-person event took place last weekend and Tommy was there to witness it firsthand.  He and Sean discuss the Masters Fitness Collective that was held in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  Could this be the future of age group events?  The first four members of the Athlete Advisory Council have been named and Eric Roza is starting to show up on national media and fitness podcasts.  What more have we learned about him? Plus, Crazy Things We Saw and Tommy gets his hands on a flamethrower.
