 Love & Emptiness (45 min) | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 23:18

The human life follows a predictable pattern, varying only in the details. We are born and grow up, then we age and our bodies return to dust. We expand and then contract. In the same way, we breathe in and we breathe out. The day dawns and then night falls. Duality represents the fundamental underlying truth of physical reality and the lower chakras. Light and dark, heaven and earth, fire and water, in breath and out breath. But the truth is that there is only one, not two. The breath can guide us to this truth if we let it. This 45 minute meditation on love and emptiness does just that. (NOTE: This is a recording from a group session so the audio isn't perfect). Light and dark, heaven and earth, fire and water, in breath and out breath. But the truth is that there is only one, not two. The breath can guide us to this truth if we let it. This 30 minute meditation on love and emptiness does just that. (NOTE: This is a recording from a group session so the audio isn't perfect).  Share Your Love With Others (10 min) | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 10:00

If you would like to feel connected with others, you don't have to have them physically present. They can even be passed away and you can re-establish your loving connection with them. If you are meditating with a group that is physically present together, it works just as well and this is a simple meditation that you can do together. It works whether there are just two of you or many more and it works whether the group is physically together or not. (Apologies for the poor audio quality--most of the people in this meditation were on the phone so it was recorded over the phone line!). See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Light of Ancient Egypt (60 min) | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:00:01

Just as we want to understand the nature of reality and we search for meaning and peace and health and joy in our lives, so the men and women of ancient times sought answers to these very same questions and methods of reaching these states of mind. The great Egyptian god Thoth (known as Hermes by the Greeks who preserved these texts) revealed the secret methods of the Ancient Egyptians in a series of scrolls in the early centuries of the first millennium in the Great library of Alexandria. Echoing the insights of Zarathustra, Lao Tzu, Buddha, Krishna and many other ancient masters, this extraordinary Egyptian text remains one of the great works of mystical literature, on a par with the Gospels, the Diamond Sutra, the Bhagavad Gita and the Tao Te Ching. In this 60 minute meditation, some of the insights from the Egypt of old are applied to help you find peace and meaning in your own life. Background reading:The Way of HermesThe Hermetica: The Lost Wisdom of the Pharaohs See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Seven Valleys of Ancient Persia (60 min) | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1:00:00

Khorasan is a region in north eastern Iran that was home to the great medieval poet Farid Ud-Din Attar. But there were many poets and mystics like him who laid down a map that each of us can still follow today to escape our self-hood’s vicious tyranny and set free our soul. It is a royal way and no mind can penetrate the sovereign whom we seek. The mystery of this unending state remains forever out of reach of the intellect. So you have to leave your mind behind on this journey. And that is what we do in this guided meditation. You will pass through the seven valleys of this mystical framework. At each one shed an aspect of mind so that by the end you are ready to witness the dazzling perfection of Truth. The inspiration for this guided meditation are the great Islamic masters like Rabi'a, Ibn 'Arabi, Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani , Jalaluddin Rumi, and above all (in this meditation) Farid Ud-Din Attar. This is a 60 minute version.Valley 1: The Valley of the QuestValley 2: The Valley of DesireValley 3: The Valley of the IntellectValley 4: Mystic Apprehension & DetachmentValley 5: HarmonyValley 6: BewildermentValley 7: AnnihilationBackground reading:The Conference of the Birds (Farid Ud-Din Attar)The Secret of Secrets (Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani)Rab'ia of Basra: Selected PoemsI Heard God Laughing: Poems of Hope and Joy (Hafez) See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
