BSP: Believer Skeptic Podcast

Summary: BSP: Believer Skeptic Podcast is a podcast where two idiots debate the Belief and Skepticism of different phenomena. They will cover topics that fall under different categories such as cryptozoology, the supernatural, spiritualism and more. While sipping Booze or Spirits one host will state the reason he or other people Believe in the chosen topic and the other host will state the reason he or other people are Skeptics. There will be a lot of fun, humor, and sometimes some insightful information (as much as two idiots can provide). Each episode will end with a segment called BS Weekly, in which the hosts each cover one current event or newstory that is scary, interesting, or just plain weird. They are always looking for new topics to cover, so if you have an idea for a future episode, message them, Tweet them, or email them. Happy listening! *Episodes may contain some colorful language, listener discretion is advised.

Chris then tells of the blind Bulgarian seer, Baba Vanga, who made some crazy accurate predictions. Cody’s second story has to do with Edgar Cayce, the sleeping prophet who made diagnoses in a trance-like state. Chris’s last story is about a seer from Scotland known as The Brahan Seer, who gave some weird predictions on trains and sewer lines. For creep of the week, Cody and Chris share 2020 predictions from Nostradamus and Baba Vanga. Drinks of the week are Good Earth Sweet and Spicy Tea and Navigator Red Blend. In this minisode Cody and Chris discuss some fascinating lore. First, Cody talks about the Rolling Heads, terrifying beings created from autocannibalism (eating yourself!).  Episode 57 – Aaahh!!! Classic Monsters | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 58:03

In this special belated Halloween episode, Cody and Chris are joined by friend (and neighbor) Tracy! Tracy is well-versed in many things, and her graduate dissertation - on vampires, of all things!! - was actually the inspiration for this episode’s topic: Classic Movie Monsters. First, Cody starts us off by discussing Frankenstein and real attempts in the 1700s to reanimate the dead. Next, Chris tells a very graphic story regarding a case of lycanthropy (please be forewarned, this story contains situations of assault, violence, murder and incest). Lastly, Tracy gives an amazing lesson on vampires, diving into their history and how they have become relevant in popular culture.  Minisode 38 – The Bunny Blob! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:14

This week's minisode features two completely different stories that still tie in to next week's topic. First, Chris tells a story about the strange Aboriginal cryptid called the Bunyip. The horror is made up of at least 28,000 different animals. Then, Cody shares the true story behind the movie classic, The Blob! Yes, it's actually based (very, very, very loosely) on an actual event that occurred in Philadelphia. See if you can guess next week's full topic from these stories.

 Episode 56 – BSP: Live! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:32:33

Welcome to our first show in front of a live audience! And what a special night it was! In this (longer than normal) episode, we were inspired by Freakshows and decided to talk about people with weird abilities. Once the audience settles down and we go through drinking game rules, Cody starts things off with the story of a woman who claimed she could smell Parkinson’s Disease… Yeah. Next, Chris talks about creepy faces, known as the Faces of Belméz, that are projected from a woman onto her kitchen floor. Cody then discusses two real-life firestarters. Speaking of fire, Chris’s next story is about John Irving Bentley, a victim of Spontaneous Human Combustion. Cody then shares the story that was the inspiration for our whole theme: The Minnesota Ice Woman. Chris finishes things up by discussing Mexican folklore (more specifically, a creature known as La Lechuza). For Creep of the Week, we are joined by our friend Liliana Espinoza, who shares a personal, touching story. Drinks for this special night are Melodramatic Red Blend and True Colors wine.
