Part 9 - Intoxicants: The Filth Of Shaytan In today's Khatirah, Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers his Khatirah about verses 90-92, from Surah Al-Ma’idah. Allah (SWT) says: “O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allah ], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful. (90) Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist? (91) And obey Allah and obey the Messenger and beware. And if you turn away - then know that upon Our Messenger is only [the responsibility for] clear notification. (92) Do we know what the true meaning of ‘Intoxicant’ is? June 4th 2017/9th Ramadan 1438

Part 8 - The Wisdom Of Suffering Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers a reminder about the wisdom of suffering. Allah (SWT) says: “What would Allah do with your punishment if you are grateful and believe? And ever is Allah Appreciative and Knowing” What’s the purpose of Allah punishing you, if you are thankful and you believe in him? Indeed Allah is the one who returns more, for no matter how little you have done! This Ayah also provides the foundation of why this world, is a world of pain and suffering. Allah (SWT) says: “And establish the prayer, for indeed the prayer is a matter that has been ordained in various timings” The message here for us to establish our prayers that has been made obligatory, in the timings which Allah has ordered. Allah's Promise To Accept Repentance Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi delivers his Khatirah about Verse 17-18, from Surah An-Nisa. Allah (SWT) says: “The repentance accepted by Allah is only for those who do wrong in ignorance [or carelessness] and then repent soon after. It is those to whom Allah will turn in forgiveness, and Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. But repentance is not [accepted] of those who [continue to] do evil deeds up until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "Indeed, I have repented now," or of those who die while they are disbelievers. Reciting Ayat Al-Kursi In today's Khatirah, Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi talks about the greatest verse of the Qur'an, which is Ayat Al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 255). It is the most blessed Ayat, but why? When should we recite this blessed verse? Verse 255 - Surah Al-Baqarah: Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. May 28, 2017

Allah Wishes Ease For You - Part 2 Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi talks about Verse 185, from Surah Al-Baqarah. An Ayah that is an overarching principle of our religion. It is mentioned in the Ayah that Allah intends ease for us, but one might say "How can religion be easy if we have to fast for 17 hours during the hot summer days" Verse 185 - Surah Al-Baqarah: The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.
