It was named after the phrase “funk style quality,” which refers to high-quality funk. George Clinton & Parliament- Funkadelic, Nona Hendryx, Fonda Rae, Denise King, and Dolette McDonald were among the all-star cast of funk legends who performed on Reprise Reprise Tonight (2020), the band’s debut long album. Dirty Disco is back with another hot episode to get your weekend started right! This week we’ve got some of the best electronic music for you, so be sure to check it out. Whether you’re looking for a club banger or something chill, we’ve got you covered. As always, we’ve got your weekend weapons ready to go. Here are your weekend weapon highlights. Yonatan Rukhman – Solitary Sweet Funk EP | Deep Clicks. Yonatan Rukhman is excited to announce his new EP, Solitary Sweet Funk. This EP is a true milestone for Yonatan and will be released on one of his favourite labels to date – Deep Clicks. This is his first 4 track EP where he feels all tracks are connected in genre and spirit. As part of his musical research in the realm of electronic music, Yonatan would define the melange of this composition as two parts Deep House and one part NuDisco. He hopes that listeners will enjoy these tracks as much as he enjoyed making them. Jerk Boy – I Love Only You | Sosilly Edits. Jerk Boy, Australia’s premier nu-disco producer, is fresh off the success of his chart-topping track “Keep It On,” which features the vocals of Chicago house music legend Mike Dunn. With remixes by Kristin Velvet, T.U.R.F., and Ben Gomori getting major support from the who’s who of the club and festival scene, it’s been a busy summer for the down-under artist. His latest release, “I Love Only You,” is a fist-pumping slab of disco/soul that is sure to get any dance floor moving. So if you’re looking for one last party before the end of the summer, make sure to check out Jerk Boy’s latest anthem. Sgt Slick – White Treble Black Bass (Hotmood Remix) | Vicious Recordings. This 1988 release, which was honored with the ARIA for ‘Best Dance Album,’ is a bona fide classic and a tough one to remix. We’re delighted to welcome Mexico’s Hotmood boss of disco to handle the remixing duties for the 30th anniversary of Vicious Recordings. Hotmood has made huge waves in recent years with his re-edits and stand alone releases finding a place in the music collection of any DJ that plays a funkier disco styled sound. Keeping this trademark slinky funky style alive in his remix, Hotmood glides through the groove, weaving in and out of the original, dropping the title vocal line and the huge original sax parts… A very cool re-interpretation of this always awesome track. Soulchaser – Never Gonna Stop | Sync Records. Sync is back with a nu disco track and weekend weapon by Soulchaser that is sure to get you moving. His debut “Heartache” was a huge success, and his recent release on Tasty Records has climbed the beatport New Disco Top 100. This is one artist you don’t want to miss, so be sure to check out his latest production. It’s absolutely for the dancefloor and full of feel-good disco house vibes. The EP is introduced by ‘The Love,’ a song that sets the listener up for what’s to come with its sensual groove and occasional classy jazz piano. What follows is ‘Da Ghent Life,’ which brings the funk with its bass guitar and skippy percussion, culminating in a soul-stroking saxophone breakdown. This upbeat trend continues with More Than Grateful”s melody and Detroit-inspired vocal chops before reaching its climax with the title track, an infectious dance tune. SeeMeNot – Borderline Remixes EP. At the end of 2020, Jamaican-Canadian artist SeeMeNot released her debut single ‘Borderline’ on her own imprint Brainstream Music. Welcome back to another episode of Dirty Disco! I hope you all had a great holiday season. You’ll hear new tracks from Crazy P, Medlar, Purple Disco Machine & Cerrone, Joe Hertz, Coyote, and many others. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the music! My holiday break (Literally and Metaphorically). Before we dive into the music, I want to take a moment to talk about my holiday break. First of all, I want to thank you all for sticking with me through the past few weeks. It’s been a crazy time, and I appreciate your patience and support. Secondly, I want to explain why I took a break from the podcast and what I did during that time. Clearly it’s the holiday season, so I planned a beautiful 2 weeks with my family in France and it’s beautiful surroundings of the Ardèche. The bad news is that I unfortunately broke my left feet during an small game of Basketball and ended up in the hospital for a day. So, I was pretty much stuck in our holiday accommodation unable to move around much. But, I’m happy to report that I’m feeling much better now and am ready to get back to business! Back to business! This week’s selection. This week’s music selection includes a bunch of dope new tracks from some of my favorite artists. You’ll hear new music from Crazy P, Medlar, Purple Disco Machine & Cerrone, Joe Hertz, Osunlade, James Juke and many others, all with great new music. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the music! Here are some previews of what to expect in this mix selection. Ascension – Gone EP | Fluid Funk. The opening track from the new EP “Gone” by Ascension starts off with a deep house groove that quickly evolves into something else. It’s an iridescent synthscape that crashes against the shoreline while muted elegance carries us away to somewhere more luxurious if not decadent in soundscapes of late night jazz clubs or beaches at dusk when you’re all alone but still want someone next to share your secrets. Whether you’re looking to wind down after a long day or get lost in the music at your next house party, this Ascension EP is sure to please. Joe Hertz – Hideaway (Ft Sebastian Gaskin) | Juicebox Recordings. Joe Hertz’s deep house music style can be felt throughout his new musical production “Hideaway” which features Sebastian Gaskin on vocals. The overall sound is an impressive mix of R&B, alt-pop, and electronic deep bass that is sure to get your feet moving. Gaskin’s vocals are strong and provide a solid foundation for the track while Hertz’s production skills shine through in the detailed beats and catchy melodies. Whether you’re looking for something to dance to or just wanting to relax and enjoy some great music,

 Dirty Disco 466: New Music from 27 Artists, 12 Inches & 6 Albums. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:05:39

It’s that time again! Dirty Disco 466 is here with 27 new tracks from some of the best artists in the electronic dance music scene. This week we’ve got 27 new tracks, 14 12 inches & 6 new albums for you, plus 4 promo tracks to get your weekend started right with exclusive music. As always, our online radio show will keep you grooving and moving all day and night long. Listen now and enjoy the best dance music has to offer! Magou – Who Is Magou? – Toy Tonics. “Who is Magou?” All we know for sure, 2 years ago Toy Tonics released a 12″ EP that created some buzz on this artist without any face or social media presence. The only clue was their allegation as being a mysterious side project by what seems to be another well known Italian music maker with production credits under his belt. Who cares about fame anyway?! This one’s all around good tunes so here they come again just in time. Field Of Mist – Illuminated60 – Illian Tape. We do not know al lot about Field Of Mist, but we do know that the label this new release is dropped on Munich record label Illian Tape founded and run by the Zenker Brothers. This is not the first time we feature Illian Tape music on our online radio show and podcast. The “Illuminated60″ 12” features dope original cuts by Field Of Mist. Mousse – Purple Dialogue – Pelvis Records. Melbourne-based Mousse has created his own sound to appeal to the hearts and minds of all who hear it. Drawing from influences as diversely varied in their tastes as they are widely spread across musical genres, this debut album is sure not only catch your attention but also keep you enthralled for hours on end with its innovative use of color harmony combined seamlessly together within 9 original tracks that have been given an extra charge by being paired down into just 2 minutes each song plus 3 remixes made specifically for those who like their tracks a little longer. Anoraak – Farewell – Endless Summer. I am beyond excited to share this new EP by Anoraak ‘Farewell’ with you, including collaborations with some of the most talented people in music. The song has a strong summer disco vibe on each track and will have you feeling like the warm sand between your toes! Anoraak is most famous for his unique brand of French touch which is present in every aspect of this release. Girls Of The Internet – Sound Asleep – Classic Music Company. After their 2017 debut, “When U Go” (Classic Music Company), Girls Of The Internet make a blissful return with “Sound Asleep.” Carrying on where they left off in terms of sound and style but taking it up another notch this time around thanks to producer/songwriter Tom Kerridge who has an ear for exquisite harmonies as well as lush orchestrations. A soft guitar riff introduces the dreamlike vocals that radiate throughout Luke Solomon’s label while he also sprinkles synth hints here & there just because we know how much you love your Italy! I hope you enjoy our latest blog post. As always, if you have any questions or comments,

 Dirty Disco 465: 24 New cuts, 14 Vinyl records & 4 Promo tracks. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:02:40

Dirty Disco 465: The Latest Electronic Dance Music in a 2 hour hosted DJ mix. It’s that time of the week again! Dirty Disco 465 is here and packed with new music. This week, I’ve got 24 new tracks for you, including 14 releases that are also out on vinyl (12”). There are 4 promo (unreleased) tracks and 9 remixes. As always, I’ve curated the latest music from the electronic dance music scene into a 2 hour hosted DJ mix. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the latest in Dirty Disco! What’s new this week? Among the 24 new tracks there are a few forthcoming releases on the Brooklyn based Razor N Tape label and on the Amsterdam based Heist Recordings label. On Razor N Tape you’ll find a new release by JKriv – Something Else which I will review clearly. Makez drops another quality EP on Heist where the duo works together with vocalist Ava Lava and DJ and producer Retromigration for remix duties. We can stick with these names for a while since JKriv also delivers a remix for Kokoro Disco-San’s ‘Sunshine’ on his own (co-founded) label. And next to remixing Amsterdam based producer Retromigration released another EP on the wewillalwaysbealovesong label titled: Secret Of A Pimp that includes a remix by Jimpster. But there’s much more coming. House Music legend Ron Trent just dropped a new album where I will feature two tracks from. Space Ghost who not too long ago delivered his ‘Dance Planet’ LP now comes back with a remixed version of his album. Then there is A-Trak who I actually don’t play that often here at Dirty Disco but now brings a very suitable new EP for us. I can continue forever with what’s new in this week’s Dirty Disco episode, but its better to just tune in and enjoy the musical vibes yourself. I’ll list a few of the featured releases here below and strongly advise you to tune in. Laurence Guy & Miller Blue – Everything Is Everything. Miller Blue teams up with lo-fi house maestro Laurence Guy to create ” Everything is Everything”, a pristine track that serves as an appetizer from their upcoming EP My Heart Still Leans on You. This after hour aux cable song encapsulates both ends of a nostalgic supercharged journey in one perfect musical arrangement—with no time left at end or beginning before they were able finish writing and recording everything within just 1 hours session! Ron Trent – What Do The Stars Say To You. Ron is a music prodigy, able to collaborate with some of the best musicians in today’s industry. He has an incredibly wide range and knows how to make any song his own through collaboration skills or just by writing what he feels on wax for himself! The new album ‘What Do The Stars Say To You?’ features Brazilian royalty Ivan Conti from Azymuth alongside Alex Malheriros who are both members within this family-owned group; violin maestro Jean Luc Ponty played alongside NY cornerstone Francois K at various points during recording sessions where Ron also drummed up beats alongside Khruangbin member Gigimasin while playing piano live. JKriv – Something Else EP – Razor N Tape.

Whether you’re looking to get down on the dance floor or just relax and soak up the vibes, Dirty Disco 464 has something for everyone. Sit back, crank up the volume, and enjoy! This week’s selection features. This week’s music selection features new releases by Sweatson Klank with his new Postcards LP, Alma Negra on their own record label with their Harambee EP is a great mix of electronic latin infused music perfect for getting your groove on. Medlar with his Interruptor EP on Delusions Of Grandeur, Marc Brauner teaming up with Tender Games on Shall Not Fade are both examples of quality deep house that will have you moving all night long. Theon Bower with a solid remix on Sound Experience ‘Got To Keep On The Move’ shows his versatility as an artist while still keeping true to the electronic sound that we all know and love. Dusky with music from their latest EP, Kavinsky with a couple of dope remixes by heavyweights from the electronic music scene, TSHA with new music on Ninja Tune round out this week’s list and are sure to get you dancing. So go ahead and check out this week’s list, you won’t be disappointed. Sweatson Klank – Postcards – Friends Of Friends. Sweatson Klank, real name Thomas Wilson, is a Los Angeles based producer who has been making music for over a decade now. In that time he’s released several EPs and albums on various labels. Postcards is his latest work and it’s his most accomplished to date. The album includes 10 new tracks and was released on the Friends of Friends label. Postcards is a very enjoyable album from start to finish. Sweatson Klank has crafted a beautiful collection of tracks that are perfect for summertime listening. If you’re looking for some new chilled out tunes. Medlar – Interruptor EP – Delusions Of Grandeur. Medlar’s latest release, “Interruptor,” features the sounds of dusty basement jams with its deep and percussive instrumentation. However it hides a devastating simplicity that can be heard on big systems when chopped up into simple phrases for maximum effect! Medlar’s new single “I Wish” is a perfect example of how to make an old-school house track sound modern. The low slung drums and fat bassline are really what sell this one, but it also has some great vocal work from Kim Anh that makes her stand out against all those average singers we hear on Top 40 songs nowadays! Alma Negra – Harambee – Alma Negra Records. Alma Negra is a Duo from Switzerland that delivers anthems like no other. The name “Harambee” means ‘let us all pull together’ in Swahili, and the band’s music reflects this message.

Listen now here on the Dirty Disco website or your favorite podcast app! Key highlights of this week’s episode. For this week’s mix session I carefully selected 25 new tracks. 11 of those tracks are brand new vinyl releases and the other 14 tracks come from promo’s that aren’t released on this time of writing. The genres range from nu disco, to deep house, electronic jazz and even a little bit of acid house. To give you an idea and suggestion you definitely need to check out, here are a few key highlights in music. Dam Swindle – Keep on Swindling Pt 1 – Heist Recordings. This is the first of a three-part Dam Swindle series on their own imprint Heist recordings. Dam Swindle are a duo from Amsterdam and they are behind some of the most interesting house music tracks to come out in recent years. Their style can be described as an eclectic mix of house, techno, disco and soul. And to celebrate 10 years in the game since their first Dam Swindle release they are putting out the Keep On Swindling Series. In this episode I’m featuring 3 tracks from part 1 with and thanks to Dragan Kucirov ‘All I Want’ as the dopest. Dumarek – Beach Life EP – SpinCat Music. Last week Dumarek reached out on my Instagram to give me credits for doing the show and told me that he always listens and gets a lot of inspiration from Dirty Disco. So we talked a little and I checked out his profile and noticed that he really produces dope ‘Dirty Disco’ style music. So I invited him to send me a copy and here it is. An exclusive play of his very tasty and well produced Beach Life EP, that’s perfectly suited for this summer for daytime dancing, poolside lounging, and memorable sunsets. Retromigration – Jeffa – Ravanelli Disco Club. This is a new collaboration between Retromigration and Nephews. They have both been making music for quite some time now and they have released on some of the best disco labels around including Disco Halal, Razor-N-Tape, Midnight Riot and many more. This track ‘Jeffa’ is a deep groovy disco house jam that will make you move your feet for sure. It’s taken from their forthcoming ‘Jeffa’ EP which will be released on Ravanelli Disco Club later this summer. Ron Basejam – Music People – Phonica White. This is a new four track EP from Ron Basejam who you also may know from his performance with Crazy P and already has a huge catalog of dope music on his name. This new EP is titled ‘Music People’ and it’s a deep groovy affair with elements of disco, house and funk.

Podcast Episode 462 features 27 new tracks with 14 exclusive plays in the Dirty Disco show. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:25:17

Podcast 462 of the Dirty Disco show. One of the best things about Electronic Dance Music is that there’s always something new to listen to. New tracks are being released all the time, and there are always new DJs to discover. If you’re looking for a good place to start, be sure to check out the Dirty Disco show. In each episode, host Kono Vidovic reviews the latest music releases and mixes them into a two-hour DJ set. You’ll hear everything from well-known tracks to hidden gems, and you’re sure to find something you’ll love. So whether you’re a seasoned electronic music fan or just getting started, be sure to give Dirty Disco a listen. Some highlights of this week’s episode. This week on the Dirty Disco show, we’ve got 27 new tracks for you, including 14 exclusive plays. We’ve got new music from Miura, theBasement Discos, Toolate Groove, Tony Deledda, Di Saronno and many more. As always, this is the best place to hear the latest and greatest in dance music. Thanks for tuning in! glue70 – Ice Cream – Ad Hoc Records. Inspired by French house influences, like Daft Punk and Alan Braxe’s work from the late ’90s to early 2000s. This is a throwback for those who love good music with catchy hooks that make you want more! My idea was simple: find my favorite samples from all over Europe (and beyond) put them together into one EP so people can shake their booty without worrying about copyright law or being sued because they’re just having fun getting down. Toolate Groove – The Getaway – Cosmic Breeze Records. The 5th release from Cosmic Breeze Records is a delicious soup of 90’s house and broken beats by Belgium producer Toolate Groove. With crunchy breaks that will make you want to move, the EP has grooving vocals and classic synth sounds in addition to piano solos on several tracks for an extra layer or two! Yannick Roberts – Can’t Hide From Myself – Freerange. Dutch producer Yannick Roberts popped onto the Freerange radar following a rather tasty release on S3A’s excellent Sampling As An Art label. His own take on deep, disco influenced Detroit house sound spearheaded by fellow countrymen Dam Swindle and Fouk is warm but punchy with a big sound that feels like perfect fit for the Freerange imprint. Tony Deledda – My Deep Body EP. Tony Deledda is a new addition to the Listeners Room and he’s going straight into our hearts with his quality depe production style. He delivered two exquisite original productions in this EP, one being an up-tempo track that combines rhodes chords, horns & vocal chops guaranteed to fill any dance floor while also including some cool synth melodies throughout; however if you’re looking for something more laid back then look no further as ” Electric Deep Funk” might just be what your ears need!
