James Wilder on Swoop’s World Late Night | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:40:18

On Wednesday March 11, 2015 at 8pm/PST (10pm/CST, 11pm/EST) we are happy to welcome actor, architect, and designer James Wilder to Swoop’s World Late Night. James is a man of many talents and the lengthy list of accomplishments noted on his resume back that up. Currently he is racking up awards and receiving heaps of praise for his work in the Indie film "Three Holes And a Smoking Gun." Join us as we have this opportunity to speak to James and learn about all of the wonderful things he does and how he finds the time to do it. Of course after our interview with James Wilder, we’ll be up to all of our usual fun with our Brewskis beer tasting segment, TBones Timeout, USC legend Anthony Davis, as well as our crazy thoughts about interesting news stories of the day. Swoop’s World Late Night is on Wednesday’s from 8pm/PST – 11pm/PST tune in at Swoopsworld.com. James Wilder Neil Young wrote that it’s better to burn out than fade away. But for actor/architect/designer James Wilder neither option is acceptable. Juggling artistic mediums like the three running chainsaws that earned him notoriety on the streets of New York and Los Angeles -- and later on stages throughout Europe -- Wilder is that rare breed of artist that is not drawn to the flame of fame and fortune but rather the exhilaration of a new challenge. Committing only to that which truly inspires him -- be it a film, TV or stage role, designing award-winning Hollywood Hills homes or an exclusive line of leather jackets and jewelry -- Wilder has been successfully merging creative spirit with entrepreneurial instincts since his early teens. It was then that he first discovered he could earn more money as a fire-eating/knife-throwing street performer than bagging groceries. And it was far more fun. Almost always judicious in his career decisions, it’s been a while since Wilder found a project compelling enough to distract him from his other ventures. But the opportunity to play a duplicitous washed up screenwriter in the soon-to-be- released indie psychological thriller “Three Holes And a Smoking Gun” (formerly titled “Three Holes, Two Brads, And a Smoking Gun”) was just too juicy a role to pass up. Co-starring Joaquim de Almeida, Rudolf Martin, and Richard Edson, “Three Holes And A Smoking Gun” has since accrued a slew awards -- including the “Grand Jury Prize” and “Best Lead Actor” (Wilder) at the 2014 Red Dirt International Film Festival, "Best U.S. Narrative Feature Film" at the 2014 Laughlin International Film Festival, and “Best Screenwriter” (Scott Fivelson) at a 2014 Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles. The film will also screen at the high profile Winter Film Awards in NYC (Feb 26, 2015) and the Garden State Film Festival (March 19-22) in Atlantic City prior to its early spring theatrical release. Raised in the bohemian enclave of Sausalito (outside San Francisco) where he attended an all-boys advanced learning institute, Wilder’s paradoxically liberal upbringing allowed for the kind of creative freedom from which his maverick tendencies were born. At the age of 14 Wilder was living in his mother’s native Paris, regaling audiences with his one man show at such legendary venues as the Moulin Rouge and Lido and later on Broadway. While there, he performed with the Nouveau Cirque De Paris, the precursor to Cirque du Soleil, before making his way to LA where he lived for several years in his customized van. As his legend grew so too did his opportunities, his charisma and movie star good looks soon propelling him into the world of acting. “I never set out to be an actor,” he admits. “But with so many people urging me to give it a shot, I succumbed to the temptation.” It wasn’t long before Wilder nabbed a role in the Broadway hit “Sugar Babies” while studying at the famed NY Actors Stud...

Andrew Peterson Born and raised in San Diego, California, Andrew attended La Jolla High School before enrolling at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture. Andrew began writing fiction in 1990. He sold a short story, Mr. Haggarty’s Stop, to San Diego Writers Monthly in October, 1992. He continued to write, exploring both the novel form and screenplays. After attending his first writer’s conference in 2005, he became serious about writing the Nathan McBride stories. FIRST TO KILL was Andrew’s debut thriller which features Nathan McBride, the “brutally effective” trained Marine Corps scout sniper and CIA operations officer. It launched as a mass-market paperback from Leisure Fiction in 2008. Costco Wholesale made a regional purchase of FIRST TO KILL and carried it in 97 warehouses in five western states, CA, AZ, CO, UT, and NV. Over a three-week period, Andrew visited 91 Costco locations where he signed stock and spoke with members. While on his book signing tour, Andrew took time to visit VA hospitals and sit with our nation’s veterans. He gave away hundreds of books. In Phoenix, he had the honor of meeting a Pearl Harbor Survivor and one of the last remaining Navajo code talkers. To date, Andrew has donated over 2,000 books to our troops serving overseas and to our wounded warriors recovering in Naval and Army hospitals all over the world. Shortly after FIRST TO KILL was sold, Audible.com purchased the audio rights, and FTK became an instant bestseller, reaching #7 on Audible.com’s website. In 2010, FIRST TO KILL reached another milestone. The film rights were sold to two Hollywood producers with their offices at the Paramount Lot in Los Angeles. Andrew’s second Nathan McBride novel, FORCED TO KILL, launched as an exclusive audiobook in May, 2010, from Audible.com and it climbed a notch higher, reaching #6 on Audible’s bestseller list. In August of 2012, Thomas & Mercer, Amazon’s Publishing’s mystery/thriller imprint, purchased the rights to three Nathan McBride books. OPTION TO KILL, the third in the series, launched as an exclusive Kindle eBook and was included in Amazon’s new Kindle Serials project. Here are the Nathan McBride books in the order they were written: FIRST TO KILL (originally published September 2008) FORCED TO KILL (May 2010) OPTION TO KILL (September 2012) READY TO KILL (April 2014)

Angela Madsen on Swoop’s World Late Night | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:03:21

On Wednesday February 25, 2015 at 8pm/PST (10pm/CST, 11pm/EST) we are happy welcome the return of Paralympian Angela Madsen to Swoop’s World Late Night. This will be our first opportunity to talk to her since she completed her Military & Veteran Tribute Ocean Row from Long Beach, Ca. to Honolulu, Hi. As many of you know Angela often finishes one adventure and moves right into her next. She is currently training for a return to the Paralympics which will take place the summer of 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Of course after our interview with  Angela Madsen, we’ll be up to all of our usual fun with our Brewskis beer tasting segment, TBones Timeout, USC legend Anthony Davis, as well as our crazy thoughts about interesting news stories of the day. Swoop’s World Late Night is on Wednesday’s from 8pm/PST – 11pm/PST tune in at Swoopsworld.com. Angela Madsen Angela Madsen is an accomplished ocean rower with 6 Guinness World Records for rowing oceans. On June 10, 2013 she set out to row a solo ocean rowing boat with no support boat from California to Hawaii. She was to stay on her little boat the entire time, no one to give her any food or water. She needed to have enough provisions on board to sustain her for as long as the journey was to take. Her goal was to row as many hours a day as she possibly could and try not to drift too far off course while asleep. Her quest to attempt the solo row began with the idea followed by logistical planning, purchase, the shipping and outfitting of a solo rowing boat. It became a tribute row to Veterans of all services and to Spirited Adventurer and her friend Orlando Rogers who was tragically killed in a plane crash on May 15th 2011. He was 26 years of age and was a Royal Marine. Orlando was very supportive of Angela and all of her projects and he was very excited about her intentions to do a solo row. It was during the planning for the row that she felt it would be fitting to make that row a tribute to honor his memory. He wanted and planned on being there for Angela as he was on the Circumnavigation of Great Britain. “Though it will not be the same, he will be there with me for every rowing stroke and every nautical mile. Orlando was a very special and amazing person. The name of my boat shall be The Spirit of Orlando” said Angela. Due to severe weather related problems Angela was forced to abort her California to Hawaii row and leave her boat adrift on the high seas. Her story of getting home, eventually locating her boat and getting it back to her home base is but yet another small chapter in her remarkable story. On  May 20, 2014 Angela and Tara Remington set off from Long Beach, Ca. for their Military & Veteran Tribute Row and arrived in Honolulu, HI. July 19, 2014.
