Episode-963- Josh Wolf on Algae Based Bio Fuel | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:29:39

Josh Wolf and Some of His Soon to be Bio Fuel I first covered the work being done by Josh Wolf (a high school student) in Episode 905 back in May of this year.  Josh is currently a Junior at Elk River High School and he is creating bio-fuel from algae at a low cost that competes with industrial professionals.  His process produces raw oil at a cost as low as 3 cents a gallon and finished fuel at about 2-3 dollars a gallon. Josh is also making bio fuel from waste fry oils this began about a year ago with his idea to reuse waste oil from Elk River High School’s cafeteria to make biodiesel for school buses. His science teacher supported my idea and helped get it off the ground.  Josh then went to work and started collecting oil, turning it into biodiesel with household chemicals.” Josh is also reaching out into new territory with a project through community involvement. He is working with the D.I.V.I.N.E. Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota to create an environmental curriculum that would host a green rooftop.  He hope it will become an excellent learning tool for students to participate in environmentally conscience projects which would reduce pollution levels.  Episode-962- The Bug Out Bus with “stateofmind” (Paul) From the TSP Forum | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:53:40

The Bug Out Bus is a Canine Friendly Environment Paul better known as “stateofmind” on the TSP Forum has had a huge hit with his thread entitled “Bug Out Bus“, which chronicles his multi-year journey of the transformation of a diesel powered Blue Bird School Bus into one hell of a kick ass RV and BOV. Paul joins us today to discuss a variety of things, such as why he chose to customize a school bus vs. buying an RV.  How much work is required for a project like this and how making it a hobby and taking your time will be a huge help in getting it the way you want it in the end. He also tells us what types of vehicles are good for projects like this based on what the builder is trying to achieve.  How to deal with power requirements including solar power installation and the role of a generator in this type of set up.  We also cover heating with a wood stove and how to do it safely but for operation and stowage during transport.   Of course he gives you some good ideas for where to find a project vehicle to start with.  This was a fun show and I think you guys will really enjoy it.  Episode-961- John Kohler of GrowingYourGreens.com | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:41:18

John Kohler – “Start Gardening Yesterday” John Kohler has been growing food for over 12 years.  Just 3 years ago he decided to expand his garden to include his whole front yard in his standard 6000 square foot suburban lot. He has filmed the process of converting his yard from consumer to producer.  He entire property is now dedicated to the production of edible plants. John’s transformation of the property has created what he calls his own “personal grocery store”, where he currently grows 90-95% of the vegetables he consumes.  He feels, “every American should have started growing their own food yesterday.” John Joins Us Today To Discuss… How and why to start growing your own food Why growing our own food is so important The best things preppers can grow to be more sustainable The best thing to use to improve fertility in your garden The most important acts you can take to create food sovereignty Some of his recent successes and learning experiences How he prevents theft in community gardens How to share the gift of gardening with others Resources for Today’s Show… Members Support Brigade TSPCopper.com Join Our Forum Be Part of Episode 1000 Meet Jack in Hickory, NC on Sept. 14-15 at the Self Reliance Expo Safecastle Royal– (sponsor of the day) MURS Radio – (sponsor of the day) GrowingYourGreens.com – (YouTube Channel you should subscribe, great stuff) Remember to comment, chime in and tell us your thoughts, this podcast is one man’s opinion, not a lecture or sermon.  Episode-960- Keith Pendlebury on Alternative Cancer Prevention and Treatment | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:55:57

Could the Answer be this Simple? Keith Pendlebury lives in British Columbia, Canada and has lived, with his wife and 6 week old daughter in Yukon, over 70 miles from the nearest town. Keith panned for gold, hunted moose and caribou and lived close to wolves, grizzly bears and black bears. With the coming of more children, he moved to civilization while trying to keep the principles of self reliance and independence. Keith has been a small publisher and printer for many years and has focused on learning all he could through health and nutrition research for 40 years with a particular emphasis on what causes and helps your body cure cancer. When his father died in extreme agony from radiation used to treat cancer in 2001, 90 days after his first radiation treatment, Keith swore he would find something that could cure cancer that wouldn’t risk death or cause extreme suffering. Keith has published an eBook he feels is too valuable to sell so he is giving it away on his website onecancercure.com Resources for Today’s Show… Members Support Brigade Join Our Forum TSP Copper Ready Made Resources – (sponsor of the day) Bulk Ammo – (sponsor of the day) Be Part of Episode 1000 One Cancer Cure eBook OneCancerCure.com Remember to comment, chime in and tell us your thoughts, this podcast is one man’s opinion, not a lecture or sermon.  Episode-959- AAR from Rob Gray about his Testimony on Parallel Currencies | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:31:28

Rob Grays telling Congress to Ignore the Fed On August 2nd, 2012 Rob Gray, the Executive Director of the American Open Currency Standard was summoned by Congressman Ron Paul to appear before a House Committee on Parallel Currencies and the role they might play in the future of our economy. Rob did a great job and learned a lot of things behind the scenes of the congressional machine, mainly that it isn’t as big a deal many times as we are led to believe and that it is in fact easier to get into Congress then to get on a plane.  You can read about his experience on the AOCS website here. Today though you can hear about the entire thing from Rob himself as he joins us on TSP for the fourth time.  You will also hear some things about the “legal tender law” that will surprise you, I know it surprised me.  Episode-957- Glen Tate – Author of the New Book Series “299 Days” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:15:09

Glen Tate is the author of the ten-book prepper novel series “299 Days” published by Prepper Press.  The books describe an average guy who prepares for, and lives through, a partial collapse of the United States. The story line of this new series is as follows, In it, the main character, Grant Matson, has a job that allows him to see what’s wrong with government.  He realizes he needs to prepare for what’s coming and he does so.  His wife, Lisa, is reluctant to prepare because she thinks things are just fine.  When the civil unrest and political collapse hit in a dramatic way, it is undeniable that they need to leave their Olympia, Washington home and head to their cabin.  But, Lisa is still reluctant; she desperately wants things to remain “normal.” Out at the cabin, a collection of amazing–yet real–people assemble.  They create their own community because the government isn’t functioning in their area.  They have to work together and, as a community, they manage to achieve some impressive results.  Unlike most prepper stories, in 299 Days America suffers a partial collapse.  The utilities stay one (due to a spell-binding plot twist) and the government functions in larger cities.  People in rural areas still get some food and services from the government, but must increasingly rely on themselves.  There are no zombies or cannibalism; 299 Days describes a much more likely partial collapse scenario. Grant’s friends, who work in government, describe how things continue to go down hill in the city and how the government is trying to maintain control.  They describe exactly why the government, as big and powerful as it once was, cannot control things.  Many in the military and law enforcement step in to stop the bad things; others in the military and law enforcement perpetuate the bad things. After a while out at the cabin, some important visitors arrive and present Grant with a difficult choice.  Eventually, the Patriots–the side Grant is on–are forced to take on what’s left of the former government.  There is a huge battle.  In the end, Grant has an important job at the beginning of the rebuilding. Glen is a moderator on the TSP forum under the name “Heavy G.”  He lives and works in Olympia, Washington where he has a front row seat to the corruption in government.  Much like the main character in the series, the author is a forty-something resident of the capitol of Washington State, Olympia, and is a very active prepper.  He grew up in the remote logging town of Forks, Washington. “Glen” keeps his identity a secret so he won’t lose his job because, in his line of work, being a prepper and questioning the motives of government is not appreciated.  Episode-955- Matt Reed on Natural Beekeeping | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:56:38

The Warre Hive – A Different Take on Top Bar Bee Keeping Special Note -  For the next two weeks get 8% off of all hives at Matt’s site, Bee Thinking with the discount code “survival”. Matt Reed founded “Bee Thinking” in 2008 as an internet resource for beekeepers throughout the world. At the same time he began mass-producing foundationless Top Bar and Warre hives for his own apiary. Soon he had a great deal of interest from many people who were getting involved in foundationless beekeeping so he began selling the same hives he uses to those in the bee keeping community. Today he sells these hives to people all over the world. Matt’s philosophy is simple.  The chief end of beekeeping should be to provide the bees with the ideal environment in which to thrive. To do this, the beekeeper must engross his or her mind with a wide range of bee-related information detailing the bee life cycle, history, hive design, management and innumerable other topics of importance. Without this knowledge, it is unlikely that the bees or the keeper will have success in their endeavors. From there we move onto more enjoyable things and discuss archery as a prepper skill with Caleb Runnels.  Join Caleb and I as we discuss the different types of bows available today.  What style of bow to consider for general prepping.  The different types of arrows and tips for everything from big game to small game to target shooting.  The important things to do to maintain a bow in top condition.  Along with the best way to get started developing your skill as an archer.  Episode-951- AOCS in Washington and the Future of Private Monetary Systems | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:01:54

Rob Gray to Congress “Leave Us Alone!” Last night I posted that my good friend Rob Gray would today be testifying before congress about “competing currencies” at the request of Representative Ron Paul.  Rob may have already completed his remarks, I really don’t know for sure as my provider doesn’t have CSPAN-3 and I was on the road at his appointed time so the internet feed does me no good. Today I want to read his speech to you and tell you my thoughts on how we the people can fix this problem with money, not inside the system, not even in opposition to the system but simply along side and out side of it. To me Rob’s message to the congress is the work of a true patriot and one that makes me proud to be living in a time such as today.  Not long ago such words would be ridiculed or ignored, today they still fall on many deaf ears but many are also now listening.  When I get a video or audio on Rob’s testimony you can bet I will be sharing it with you. Additionally today I will share with you my thoughts on how batter currencies can and likely will evolve over time.  I will even share with you how the concept could be used to create an effective and honest national currency.  Additional Resources for Today’s Show Members Support Brigade TSP Copper Join Our Forum Harvest Eating – (sponsor of the day) Free State Project – (sponsor of the day) The AOCS Website AOCS on Facebook Rob’s Announcement and Text of his Speech Remember to comment, chime in and tell us your thoughts, this podcast is one man’s opinion, not a lecture or sermon.  Episode-950- 8 More Unusual or Underated Crops for the Homestead | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:03:14

Mouse Melon – One of the Cool Plants We Discuss Today Sometimes you just get a bit tired of all the negative things going on out there.  Mid summer seems like some of the worst of those days, hot long days filled with news of encroachment on liberty, economic doom and more. For me gardening and planting along with planning for future planting and homesteading activities offers me solace.  It doesn’t fix the problems, as I said yesterday when I quoted Steven Covey, “While we are free to choose our actions, we are not free to choose the consequences of our actions.”  Sadly we have many consequences to face but as Mr. Covey put it we do control our actions, NOW, today and tomorrow. In the garden we find both a positive action and emotional and I believe phyical therapy.  In fact I believe much or our nation can be healed with gardening and homesteading.  If you think I am over selling the power of growing food to heal, have a look at this recent article about putting gardens into our prisons. There is a power of anything that allows a person to really create something, it gives them something that is really theirs, something to value, something they want to keep and protect vs. yet another shiny thing to try to acquire.  This sums up much of what is wrong in America.  With this in mind I bring you today’s show, a simple break and a look at growing some things you may have never thought of before.
