Episode-963- Josh Wolf on Algae Based Bio Fuel

The Survival Podcast show

Summary: Josh Wolf and Some of His Soon to be Bio Fuel I first covered the work being done by Josh Wolf (a high school student) in Episode 905 back in May of this year.  Josh is currently a Junior at Elk River High School and he is creating bio-fuel from algae at a low cost that competes with industrial professionals.  His process produces raw oil at a cost as low as 3 cents a gallon and finished fuel at about 2-3 dollars a gallon. Josh is also making bio fuel from waste fry oils this began about a year ago with his idea to reuse waste oil from Elk River High School’s cafeteria to make biodiesel for school buses. His science teacher supported my idea and helped get it off the ground.  Josh then went to work and started collecting oil, turning it into biodiesel with household chemicals.” Josh is also reaching out into new territory with a project through community involvement. He is working with the D.I.V.I.N.E. Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota to create an environmental curriculum that would host a green rooftop.  He hope it will become an excellent learning tool for students to participate in environmentally conscience projects which would reduce pollution levels.
