RFC News Desk 098 – Earthrise Dead Optimus Prime Leaked | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:40

Optimus Prime has finally died in Transformers Generations. A new photo has been leaked showing what's supposedly a "dead" redeco of Earthrise Optimus Prime. Typenext, the reddit user who shared the photo, was also the first to have in hand photos of Siege Bluestreak and Ratchet months before their release, so there's reason to think this is for real. It's a mystery right now whether this is the Alternate Universe Optimus Prime promised by an Amazon listing several weeks ago, or if this might even be a now-orphaned SDCC exclusive. In either case, it would have been set for sale in July, so we should find out more before long! Thanks to all of our Patrons who are making this possible!  RFC News Desk 097 – God Neptune, Netflix Deluxe Cheetor, And My Little Prime | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4:21

Who would have guessed God Neptune was the least remarkable thing to happen this week? TakaraTomy has revealed Generations Selects God Neptune! A boxed set of five Seacons (nobody loves Nautilator), it will be released in late October at a price of ¥22,000 - or $185 from Hasbro Pulse. While the rest of her pirate comrades are otherwise just simple redecos, Scylla received some remolding to have the robot mode be even more feminine looking than Tentakil already was. As we reported during RFC this week, Zobovor on alt.toys.transformers uncovered some new Deluxes listed by Walmart that appear to be part of their exclusive Netflix-inspired War For Cybertron subline. The list is as follows: * TRA DELUXE BUMBLEBEE * TRA DELUX QUINTESSON * TRA DELUXE WHEELJACK * TRA DELUXE IMPACTOR * TRA DELUX DEEP COVER * TRA DELUXE RED ALERT * TRA DELUXE BARRICADE * TRA DELUXE ELITA 1 This already leads to some interesting speculation as this immediately looks like some mix of Siege and Earthrise molds. But then it got a little more interesting when Jtprime from TFW2005's forum found one more name with these: TRA DELUXE CHEETOR. No obvious mold currently exists that would suit a Cheetor with corrent beast mode, which leaves us wondering just what exactly this will turn out to be. But as listings like these can appear in store inventory data several months in advance of being released, we may be waiting quite a while still before we find out any real details. Finally, Preternia on Twitter shared stock photos that gave us our first look at My Little Prime, a crossover between My Little Pony and Transformers. Unsurprisingly, it takes the form of a pony figure with heavy paint work to apply Optimus Prime colors and details. This is the third revealed MLP crossover item, following a Ghostbusters pony, and a pink Mighty Morphin Pony Ranger. Release date and channel are currently unknown.  RFC News Desk 096 – Generations Selects God Neptune Teased To The Surprise of No One | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:53

A tease using the silhouette of King Poseidon can only mean one thing... ...more Seacons! Following up on the cliffhanger ending of the Super Megatron web comic pages, it looks like the next Generations Selects release coming up after Super Megatron will be God Neptune and the Beast Wars II Seacon pirates. TakaraTomy's official Transformers Twitter account shared the tease mid-day Wednesday, Japan time. There's no further info offered yet, but since this weekend would have been Shizuoka Hobby Show had it not been cancelled due to COVID-19, we probably won't have to wait long to see more of the redecos basically everyone knew were coming.  RFC News Desk 095 – Earthmode Two Pack Contents Revealed | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:10

Amazon France has posted new product info for the mysterious Earthmode Two Pack. Prowl and Bluestreak became popular guesses for this two pack, but that's ended up being only half right. As if meant to confound me specifically, it turns out this is a two pack of Prowl and Ironhide! Prowl's obvious enough, as a retool of Smokescreen who we saw back at Toy Fair. But what the heck is the deal with Ironhide? Nothing we have in Earthrise is a clear starting point for an Earthly Ironhide, and it's definitely not the usual order of things for a new mold to debut in a probably-exclusive multi-pack format like this. It's so confusing! Hopefully pictures will follow soon, but for now I've done an automated translation of the French product descriptions which gave us all the new info. * EARTHRISE: The siege is over, but the war for Cybertron is just beginning. Although Autobots and Decepticons have left Cybertron, their battle continues in space as they search for the Allspark * ENLARGE THE BATTLEFIELD: Great space battles can be created with Earthrise figures that convert to modular battle stations. Includes: Deluxe class Ironhide and Prowl figures from Transformers Generations War for Cybertron: Earthrise, 2 accessories and instructions in French. * AUTOBOT ALLIANCE: This toy contains the Ironhide and Prowl figurines in terrestrial mode. Fans of the cartoon will imagine the Ark's crash landing on Earth and the continuation of the brutal war against the Decepticons. * AUTOBOT ALLIANCE AGAINST ELITE HUNTERS: Images on Autobot Alliance packs and elite fighters show both sides of the fight. By combining the two, the battle scene is completed. * G1 TERRESTRIAL AND WEAPON MODES: The Ironhide and Prowl figures convert to truck and police car mode in 22 steps and 15 steps, and are sold with 2 weapons. Transformers, to start imagining, inventing and transforming reality. Transformers, stronger than appearances. Thanks to all of our Patrons who are making this possible!  RFC News Desk 094 – MP-39+ Spinout is Diaclone Sunstreaker | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2:50

TakaraTomy Mall exclusive MP-39+ Spinout is coming later this year. Right after RFC this week - because it's always right after RFC - TakaraTomy Mall announced the newest Masterpiece redeco coming out later this year. MP-39+ Spinout is based on the original red Diaclone Lamborghini Countach Super Tuning that was the very first Diaclone Car Robot, which would go on to be colored yellow and sold as Sunstreaker. Spin-Out was a preproduction name for Sunstreaker, and the Collector's Club featured a character named Spin-Out based on the idea of red Sunstreaker in one of their text stories. Masterpiece Spinout is listed at ¥13,200, and will be up for preorder until June 17th, with delivery expected in late November. Thanks to all of our Patrons who are making this possible!  RFC News Desk 093 – TFCon Toronto And More Now Affected By Coronavirus Pandemic | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:53

Three more summer events have been cancelled or rescheduled this past weekend. As a result of precautions around the COVID-19 pandemic, Tokyo Toy Show which was originally planned to run June 11-14 has been called off with no new schedule or other plans yet announced, leading to the belief the show has been fully cancelled for this year. At about the same time, Wonderfest cancelled the planned Summer event, scheduled for July 25th. It's been replaced by the brand new Autumn Wonderfest, which is planned be held on November 1st. Finally, TFCon Toronto has been pushed back from its original July dates, and is now planned to happen starting on September 4th to try to provide for a safer environment for their attendees. You can read their full announcement about the change here. We can't say the change of plans for the Japanese hobby shows won't have any impact, the landscape of the hobby culture in Japan is a little different to that of the US for instance, where their hobby magazines would have already been part of the plan to share new reveals for the major companies with or without the shows to debut things first. This is more likely to hurt smaller groups that don't necessarily have the reach or finances to be able to secure page space like that to get eyes on their products.
