On today’s episode we do an internal audit of how the show is going AK from our news team gave us a critique on whether Bj Shawn and Sundi are arguing too much on the show instead of debating… Shawn disagrees with AK and kind of insults him in the process of giving the show a critique . What do you think? Please leave us a comment and let us know if you’ve been listening to the show for a while and what you think about it. Also Alexander Kayden reports on Atlanta’s Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and the Police chief are leading a push to re-examine evidence from a string of murders that terrorized the black community between 1979 and 1981 --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
Let me say that I am not a John McCain fan per se but I am not for the Gross disrespect that President Trump is heaping on the legacy of John McCain and his family. The man is a war veteran he was a POW. Trump never served in the military yet he continues to disrespect this man seven months after his death. Some people cannot understand how a human being could be so callous of speaking of the dead in such a manner,..particularly if that person is the President of the United States which is supposed to be the lead example of civility in the free world. President Trump has no manners in my opinion but Shawn seems to defend President Trump‘s actions against former Senator John McCai. listen to this episode and decide for yourself whether President Trump has gone too far especially when he made those comments in front of US military personnel. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
Interesting conversation today on the 20 minute morning show about R&B artist Daniel Caesar who made a video on Periscope yesterday asking his followers why do black people treat white people so mean and if a white person gives you back the negative energy that you’re giving them why do you complain about it. He says that’s not equality. After he made those statements black twitter went crazy on him so he got some pushback. In our conversation today, Shawn brought up the fact that Daniel Caesar slept in his car and that Black aspiring artist should not have to do that because a door should be open to you as much as we’ve given to America… Sundi and myself disagreed with her because if you want anything in this life you are going to have to sacrifice. Listen in and see which side of the conversation you fall on. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
The views and opinions expressed in this episode are that of the Author Bobby Beverly and not necessarily the opinions of the 20 minute morning show staff : On today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show author and historian Bobby Beverly is making claims that Jesse Jackson had something to do with the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. He gives names and circumstances under which Dr. King jr was set up to be murdered on the balcony of the Lorraine hotel in 1968. Mr. Beverly claims that the way Doctor King died and has been told to the American public is false. Was Dr. King still alive when he was shot on the balcony of the Lorraine hotel and did they kill him at the hospital? With March madness about to kick off this week isn’t it so unfair that the NCAA makes billions of dollars and the basketball players who are predominately black make no money during this tournament season? Even in the gambling industry they’re going to rack up $9.2 billion betting on the games... you have to ask yourself when will this end and why is it allowed to happen, and the number one thing that is keeping these industries going is fear and cowardice and dis-unity among black athletes in all the major sports in America… Also on today’s episode another round of reparations talk how much money would each black American get if they were cut a check for reparations… Shawn gets a compliment from a listener … And is Bj too sensitive? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
Who is Beto O’Rourke? Is he the white version of Barack Obama… They are deeming him as the new Democratic rockstar who could take on Donald Trump in 2020… He recently said that he is not for reparations and where every Democratic candidate has been asked about this question black people have to decide who they’re going to put their support behind... is the reparations platform the only car that black people have left for political power in America… Should we hold the reparations question as the standard bearer for any candidate we wish to support... what about the question of separation can you have reparations without separation? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
Are you tired of the R Kelly drama yet? I think we are getting burnout from talking about it because people are making up things that just are not true that take away the seriousness of the moment with R Kelly and these young women. The parents are involved making a side show. I think Gail is making a side show by exposing black people and capitalizing off of our need for attention. We also talk about in this episode the education scandal where major universities will be sued by students who couldn't get in and more of the white privilege scams will be uncovered in the coming weeks. Also, the Jussie Smollett case is in play now with him strutting in the courtroom and wanting cameras to be present so that according to him, they could show the lack of evidence that is against him. All this and more conversation on the 20 minute morning show today. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
By now I know you have heard about the educational cheating scandal where wealthy parents were paying alot of money to give their children an unfair advantage for admissions into prestigious colleges. Wealthy parents have been bribing officials to get into Ivy League schools since the inception of these prestigious colleges and universities. So does hard work really have anything to do with it if you can pay your way in. This is the power of white privilege in America where people have been paying for degrees paying for people to write their dissertation papers paying for people to take admissions test… And now maybe black people will wake up to the game that has been played on them for centuries.. Also in this episode Wendy Williams called her studio audience the N-word and Stacey Abrams from Georgia is thinking about putting her name on the list of people running for president in 2020. In today’s episode of the 20 Minute Morning Show could it be that Shawn has exposed BJ’s hypocrisy in the R. Kelly drama… And what is this R. Kelly case doing to black America? Are we nailing our black men to the cross in the court of public opinion but failing to hold white celebrities to the same standards? Are we all hypocrites… are black people afraid of criticizing the Jewish power structure in entertainment? I am feeling some kind of way about Oprah and Gayle and the Role they are playing in demonizing black men, but not Harvey Weinstein who is their personal friend but is one of the worst offenders against women in the history of Hollywood.. the question has to be, why are they not nailing him to the cross like they are doing with Michael Jackson and R. Kelly. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
Today we took it to the streets of Charlotte North Carolina and the heart of the black community Beatties Ford Road and LaSalle to get opinions about the R. Kelly situation I want you to listen to the children and what they said about R. Kelly and some viewpoints from some women who have been analyzing the situation with the women who were around R. Kelly I think you will enjoy what the people had to say on the 20 minute morning show today --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bj-murphy9/support
Today on the 20 minute morning show we give our take on the interview done by Gail king of CBS News with RKelly. Did he help his case or did he further incriminate himself as a pedophile based off the public’s judgment of him. One of the questions BJ had was why did he choose Gayle King to be his interviewer number two why in all the high profile cases concerning black men that we’ve seen recently from Jussie Smollett to R. Kelly and new Michael Jackson allegations that black women are the interviewers and what is behind that strategy. One question that BJ had was can R Kelly now get a fair trial with so much publicity. Did R. Kelly hurt himself or help himself with that interview showing his raw emotions. We had a very passionate discussion about it like always so please give us your opinion on our Facebook page @20 minute morning show or on Twitter @20morning --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
My dear 85 year old Aunt Carol Jean passed away last week in Elizabethtown NC a small town outside of Wilmington NC in the sandhills of bladen county. My mother was raised there, all 11 of her brothers and sisters. They were a farming family and most of them went they got a chance to move up north, they ran to the state of New Jersey and never looked back. My Aunt Carol left, but she cam back home and settled there until her recent passing. We use to have some good times in the summer when we were children. Tobacco fields, good cooking from Grandma and hanging with all my cousin's for a week. In this episode my first cousins and I discuss us coming together outside of funerals and getting closer again. We had a great brief discussion before we had to get in our cars and proceed to the church, but I did capture a great moment between us. funeralfamilyLoveunitedreunion --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bj-murphy9/support
Women are getting tired of men cheating on them ...Shawn seems to think that women are tolerating these men because of financial security she says that when a mans keys hit the door, most women are like God why did you do this to me ...LOL and they are faking their way through these relationships.. I can’t believe I’m having a discussion about the Kardashian’s… But there was something worth noting about the way they treated the black girl that kissed Tristan Thompson the serial cheater...Leave us a comment on our Facebook page @20minutemorningshow and on Twitter @20morning --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
Do you ever think that Nigerian Pastors are mimicking what they see Black Pastors in the United States do? Did you see the Nigerian Pastor Ressurect a so called dead man? There was one pastor in Africa who had some holy water he claimed he got from heaven and the people believed it… I believe that’s why US Clergy go over to Africa for these ministries because the people are so gullible and they misuse their sincerity.... in this episode we talk about the state of our black pastors and how black communities are suffering because of their lack of leadership.... is it cool for your pastor to have a jet plane to have a Mazeratti or Bentley when there are people in your congregation that may not have a car or decent housing ...You may agree or you may disagree...Please leave a comment we would love to hear from you… And of course we are not talking about your pastor right? nigeriatdjakes --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bj-murphy9/support
