The first 40 years of planning for the city of Charlotte certainly did not include us, so why would we sit around and allow this to happen again when we have full control of our destiny. Earlier in the week, Atatiana Jefferson’s aunt, Venitta Body, said at a news conference that Marquis Jefferson was not Atatiana Jefferson’s biological father and never had legal custody of her. Both sides in the dispute met Monday for a court hearing that took place behind closed doors. After announcing the details of the funeral, Thompson said a gag order was in effect and would prevent the family members and their lawyers from speaking publicly about what took place.
