SEC WEST CHAMPIONS | Biggest takeaways from LSU's win over Arkansas Razorbacks, season turnaround | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1936

All the LSU Tigers needed to do on Saturday in Fayetteville was beat the Arkansas Razorbacks. That's it. Win, and you're in the SEC Championship. While it wasn't a very pretty win, and it wasn't a win that came without some stress and anguish from Tigers fans, it was a win nonetheless that set LSU up for a bid to the SEC Championship game in Brian Kelly's first season as head coach for the Tigers. Just how big is that for Kelly in year one, and how reassuring is that for Tigers fans for the Kelly era in Baton Rouge? Plus, it was a tale of two teams on Saturday. The defense absolutely DOMINATED the Arkansas Razorbacks holding them to just ten points on the day. While the entire defense deserves credit, one player in particular emerges as the obvious key to the game. True freshman Harold Perkins recorded four (FOUR!!!!) sacks on the day and singlehandedly won LSU the game against Arkansas. He has proven to be a force for this LSU defense and may just have a case for the best defensive player in college football. As a true freshman. However, the other side of the ball wasn't nearly as dominant as Perkins and the rest of the LSU D. LSU's offense struggled against Arkansas DC Barry Odom's defense, notching just 13 points on the day and limiting QB Jayden Daniels to just 86 yards and zero touchdowns. How concerned, if at all, should LSU fans be about this offense moving forward? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  TRAP GAME?!? | What every LSU Tigers fan needs to know about the Arkansas Razorbacks | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2264

The LSU Tigers head to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday for a morning matchup between two SEC West foes. These two teams are coming into this contest with very different circumstances: LSU is coming off of a wild win over the Alabama Crimson Tide while the Hogs got smoked by Liberty. LSU fans are riding high as the Tigers are playing just as good as any other team in the country, while Arkansas fans are just hoping to finish with a little bit of dignity. But there is a massive test here for the LSU Tigers and first-year head coach Brian Kelly: how can LSU manage success? Can LSU stay focused after a huge win that put them in the drivers seat of the SEC West and go into Fayetteville to claim the SEC West title? Or will Brian Kelly not be able to get his team ready to go against a struggling Arkansas team? It is all on the line for LSU this weekend as Kelly, quarterback Jayden Daniels, and the rest of the squad prove that they belong in Atlanta come December. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  HEISMAN WATCH?! CFP CONTENDERS?!? | Realistic conversations about LSU football with a win over Alabama | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1895

LSU football defeating the Alabama Crimson Tide is HUGE for so many reasons...a statement win for Brian Kelly, huge momentum for the team and recruiting, excitement for the fanbase, and so many other reasons that make a win over Nick Saban so massive and exciting for any fanbase. But what does it mean for the LSU Tigers beyond that? Locked On LSU host Caroline Fenton highlights three conversations that LSU football fans can now have about their team since beating Alabama that would have seemed absolutely and ridiculous just a few short weeks ago. First, we can have a conversation that Jayden Daniels is playing like a Heisman-caliber quarterback. Now it might seem far-fetched to say that Jayden Daniels WILL win the Heisman Trophy considering his slow start to the season and small sample size of elite play. But compared to Ohio State's CJ Stroud and Tennessee Vols' Hendon Hooker, the two Heisman Trophy frontrunners, Jayden Daniels is playing just as good as any of them. Second, it is now safe to have a realistic conversation about LSU football's path to the College Football Playoff. I know, I know...a two-loss team has never gotten into the CFP. But with a win over Alabama, the Tigers now sit in control over the SEC West with a good shot to make it to the SEC Championship game in Atlanta. So what does LSU have to do in order to make a case to be the first ever two-loss team in the top four? Finally, LSU has the most impactful freshman class in the SEC. While that's an argument that could have been made even before a win over Alabama, performances from Harold Perkins, Mason Taylor, Emery Jones, and Will Campbell against one of the top teams in the nation solidifies just how good and just how impactful LSU's 2022 recruiting class has been for this team. How do they stack up to the rest of the league? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! LinkedIn LinkedIn jobs helps you find the candidates you want to talk to, faster.  LSU DEFEATS ALABAMA | It's time for the college football world to put some respect on Brian Kelly and LSU football | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1822

TIGERS WIN! TIGERS WIN! Brian Kelly did in his first year what so many other SEC football head coaches have failed to do throughout the entirety of their career: defeat Nick Saban and Alabama. After a year of mocking Brian Kelly's dance moves and Southern accent and criticizing LSU for giving such a massive contract to a coach who many didn't believe was a "culture fit," Brian Kelly and the LSU football program hushed the criticism with a win in the biggest game of the season for the Fighting Tigers. What a MASSIVE win for the LSU Tigers for so many reasons: recruiting, SEC Championship odds, a clearer path to a potential College Football Playoff bid, and a message to the college football world that what Brian Kelly has done at LSU in just a single season is not something to ignore. Plus, LSU's win over Alabama proves that there is a certain position group that has evolved leaps and bounds under Kelly and offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock. How has that position group already evolved this season, and how will it continue to evolve LSU's offense moving forward? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Can LSU football pull off the upset vs Alabama Crimson Tide?! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1999

It is BIG GAME WEEKEND! Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide head to Baton Rouge this weekend in an SEC West showdown for control of that side of the division. What does LSU need to do to pull off the upset at home and get that much closer to punching their ticket to Atlanta? Big plays from their playmakers while limiting Alabama's playmakers. Bryce Young, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Will Anderson have the ability to take over games, on both sides of the ball, and to Brian Kelly's point, "make you look silly". LSU's defense will have their hands full getting pressure on Bryce Young and containing him in the pocket while also stopping Gibbs and the run game. But does LSU's defense play an even larger role as well? Caroline Fenton, Locked On LSU host, breaks down why the LSU defense plays such a massive role in this game. Plus, Jayden Daniels will need to lead a balanced offense to put up enough points to keep up with the Crimson Tide. The LSU Tigers offense has been at it's best when it's balanced both on the ground and in the air, so that will need to continue against Alabama if LSU wants to get a win and get that much closer to competing for an SEC Championship.  DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS | The key to LSU football starting fast against the Alabama Crimson Tide | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2017

In Brian Kelly's first year at LSU, it has been difficult to predict what we can expect week in and week out from the LSU Tigers football team. Which is understandable, considering it is a squad that needed time to build chemistry and confidence with one another. But the one thing that has been consistent all season long? The LSU Tigers have been able to come back from deficits and win big. So how exactly can LSU avoid that? How can they come out fast and strong and play in the first quarter like they have in the fourth? Brian Kelly has tried to attack it physically and mentally: moving 11-on-11 periods to the first few minutes of practice, giving out quizzes on Saturday mornings, etc. but what is the real key to LSU football gaining momentum? Caroline Fenton, host of Locked On LSU, recaps the season and gives her theory not as to WHY the Tigers start slow, but rather how the team turns things around. Plus, how is Brian Kelly and the rest of the LSU coaching staff getting their team mentally prepared to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide? How is the team preparing for the biggest game of the year as Nick Saban and company comes to Tiger Stadium? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The #6 Alabama Crimson Tide visits Tiger Stadium on Saturday to take on the #10 LSU Tigers in a top ten SEC West showdown. Luke Robinson of Locked On Bama joins Caroline Fenton of Locked On LSU to break down the biggest stories and most important matchups on both sides of the ball for each team. Why has Alabama not looked as dominant as it has in the past, especially on the road? Caroline and Luke break down Alabama's lack of discipline and hardships as the visiting team. Will the environment at Tiger Stadium force Alabama to commit penalties and make mistakes? How can LSU use that to their advantage? Plus, Bryce Young is the best quarterback in the country. So how does LSU's defense slow him down and limit what the Alabama offense can do? How much of a threat is Jayden Daniels to Alabama's defense, or is there another player in purple and gold that the Crimson Tide view as more of a threat? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  TOP TEN TIGERS | What does LSU's spot in the College Football Playoff rankings mean for the program? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1959

The College Football Playoff committee released their first rankings of the 2022 college football season and one of the most shocking rankings of all was the spot they gave to the LSU Tigers at number ten as the highest ranked two-loss team in the country, ahead of 6-2 Kansas State ranked thirteenth. This ranking sets up the #6 Alabama matchup perfectly: a top-ten matchup in Tiger Stadium competing for the drivers seat in the SEC West. How will LSU respond, and how much do these rankings REALLY matter considering how much things will change after #1 Tennessee's matchup with #3 Georgia? What does this mean for the LSU football program as a whole? How much of a testament is this to Brian Kelly and the rest of the coaching staff for what they've been able to accomplish? How much have LSU fans expectations for Kelly changed throughout the season, but especially after a top ten ranking? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Is LSU football an underrated threat to the Alabama Crimson Tide? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1622

The Alabama Crimson Tide head into Tiger Stadium this weekend for a Week 10 #6 vs. #15 SEC West showdown. Alabama is favored and Nick Saban and company have a better record and likely better personnel on their side. But is LSU a legitimate threat to Alabama? ESPN's Sam Acho was asked this question and he said no. First, because LSU doesn't have the talent to keep up with Alabama. Second, because Tennessee's team is the only one so far this year that was able to beat the Crimson Tide and he claims LSU doesn't have a team as good as the Vols in order to compete with Alabama. So, Locked On LSU host Caroline Fenton proves him wrong and highlights the three reasons why Alabama SHOULD be on upset alert. Can Jayden Daniels repeat the heroics we have seen from him the last two weeks? Can Harold Perkins, BJ Ojulari, Micah Baskerville, and the rest of the defense step up to stop one of the best quarterbacks in the country? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  What does Texas A&M and Auburn's struggles this year mean for LSU football? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2014

Texas A&M entered this season ranked in the top ten, and now they're 3-4 with only one SEC win. Fans and players were frustrated enough with the team on the field, but add off-the-field drama and three players indefinite suspensions and tensions are running even higher in College Station. But things aren't much better at Auburn. Their head coach's days have been numbered ever since last season, and their 3-4 record isn't helping Harsin's case either. So with two SEC West teams struggling on the field and off, how can LSU capitalize on players and recruits that may want to look into a new landing spot? Plus, what do Bryan Harsin and Jimbo Fisher's struggles at their respective schools mean for Brian Kelly? Locked On LSU host Caroline Fenton breaks down just why LSU fans should be pleased with their coach, both independent of the rest of the conference and compared to other struggling programs as well.  How did the win over Ole Miss impact the future of LSU football? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1902

There are several reasons why LSU footballs win over Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels was so huge: better positioning in the SEC West and the AP Top 25 Poll, better outlook for the rest of the season, reassurance in Jayden Daniels and Brian Kelly...the list goes on and on. But one reason why that win was so important for this team and the LSU football program as a whole is the impact it made on recruits. Sports Illustrated recruiting insider John Garcia Jr. joins Caroline Fenton and Locked On LSU to discuss the recruits that were present at the game and the positive impact that win left on them, plus the recruits that have already committed since that Saturday in Tiger Stadium. What traits do those players bring to LSU next year and beyond? How will Brian Kelly and the rest of the recruiting staff adjust their focus after that game going into the bye week? Plus, Auburn and Texas A&M are both facing their own unique set of issues that have turned off potential recruits, commits, and current players. Several players from each program have either de-committed or have entered the transfer portal.  Why Jayden Daniels performance against Ole Miss was so much bigger than vs Florida Gators | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1808

The LSU Tigers defeated the then-number 7 ranked Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday handing them their first loss of the season and catapulting the Tigers to the top spot in the SEC West. So how was LSU able to pull off a 45-20 win over a top ten ranked team in college football? Partly because of the breakthrough we have seen from Jayden Daniels. In the beginning of the season, Jayden Daniels looked like a quarterback too timid to take risky shots downfield and would rather elect to carry the ball himself. This limited LSU's offense immensely and a wide receiver room that could stack up against any in SEC football was not getting utilized. But we saw a different Jayden Daniels against the Florida Gators last week. Daniels scored six total touchdowns in The Swamp and repeated the performance at home against Lane Kiffin's squad. But what makes those two performances different? Plus, Locked On LSU host Caroline Fenton breaks down the most impressive defensive performances from the Ole Miss win.  How the LSU Tigers defense stopped the Lane Train | Key takeaways from LSUs win vs Ole Miss | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2278

The LSU Tigers hosted Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday afternoon for a primetime SEC matchup. Ole Miss entered the game undefeated and ranked in the top ten – and in the first quarter, they looked like it. Jaxson Dart and Ole Miss' offense moved down the field with ease, scoring on each of their first three possessions. LSU was down 17-3 and it looked like they didn't have an answer for Kiffin and the Rebs. So how was LSU able to not just squeak out a win, but dominate Ole Miss with a final score of 45-20 after an early deficit? LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels looked like a super hero for the second week in a row, putting up almost 370 total yards of offense and five total touchdowns: two in the air and three on the ground. After a six total touchdown performance against Florida, Daniels is quickly proving wrong those who claimed Daniels is not a starting caliber SEC QB. He has improved immensely since Week 1 against Florida State and looks much more confident and poised in the pocket to add another layer to LSU's offense. Plus, defensive coordinator Matt House was able to make adjustments on the defensive side of the ball that nearly shut down Ole Miss' high-powered offense. House was able to utilize freshman superstar Harold Perkins and that made all the difference. Lane Kiffin even credited Perkins after the game, saying "nobody can do what 40 can do." While LSU still has mistakes to correct and problems to clean up (special teams, slow starts in important games), LSU fans can feel much better about their team as it sits 6-2 on the season and atop the SEC West as the Alabama Crimson Tide come to town the first weekend in November.  If LSU beats Ole Miss, how realistic is it for the Tigers to head to the SEC Championship? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1859

It's a question that I thought would have been ridiculous going into this season. It's also a question that still might be ridiculous considering how difficult the LSU Tigers schedule is the rest of the season with Alabama, Arkansas, and Texas A&M on the horizon. But if LSU beats Ole Miss this weekend is it THAT ridiculous to pose this question: Can LSU punch their ticket to the SEC Championship? I think we can start having that conversation but only if LSU beats Ole Miss. So how exactly can they do that? The Rebels offense revolves around it's run game and the running back duo of Quinshon Judkins and Zach Evans. Judkins is averaging over 100 yards per game with 10 total touchdowns on the season while Evans is averaging around 87 yards per game with seven rushing touchdowns so far in his 2022 campaign. The way LSU can win this game starts and ends with limiting what Ole Miss can do on the ground, and forcing quarterback Jaxson Dart into uncomfortable passing situations. Can LSU clean up special teams and win battles at the line of scrimmage, both offensively and defensively? Will Jayden Daniels repeat the heroics we saw from him against Florida?
