Episode 18 | Armando Acosta Founder of Immanuel Motorcycle Prison Ministry | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3936

Armando Acosta Founder of Immanuel Motorcycle Prison Ministry tells his story about his life and the assistance of Chaplain Fernando Charles II as they both visit prisons to share the Gospel.About Free By The Truth MinistryMissionWe exist specifically to provide a compassionate recovery community for returning residents (men & women coming out of prison) who are willing to take responsibility for themselves and to learn to make good choices while striving for success.VisionThe vision of Free By The Truth Ministry, Inc. is to be part of God’s plan to reconcile the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. II Corinthians 5:19 Our mission is to create a community here in San Antonio of the formerly incarcerated and their families who will help each other to lead abundant lives in Christ. Our plan is to help men and women by showing them how to Love God, Love People, and Disciple Others. What We BelieveIt is through my own experience with my encounter with God, how His truth has been revealed to me and has Set Me Free! I have seen the same experience in others who have come to know God in their life. How does this happen? I have been asked when I talk about our main verse for our ministry name. "How does John 8:31-32 apply to me? I say it this way, I'm a christian but i am still afflicted with the sin in my life", I still struggle and wrestle with sin every single day. The bible tell me that I am a sinner. (Romans 3:23) But I strive to live my life to follow Jesus everyday. We can do this through the power of God.John 8:31-32, "Jesus said to the people who believed in him, "You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings". "And you will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH will set you FREE".The reason why people are going through so much in their lives is because they are not adding both verses together in their life. Jesus was talking to believers, Christians or followers of Christ, that if they remained faithful to his teaching, they were truly Jesus' disciples. In verse 31 Jesus used the big word, "IF", this is huge because we have to make a choice in our life if we are going to follow Jesus or we are not. This goes for us as well, if we remain faithful to God he will remain faithful to us. We must choose to follow Jesus and when we do the truth of his word becomes real in our lives.John 15:5, "I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing".When we know the Truth of God's Word, our mind is open to understand what God's will is for our life. And we are changed and no longer want to be the same, but live a changed life.Romans 12:2, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will".When we choose to follow God, he changes us from the inside out. This ministry is so important. I have seen how God has changed the lives of men on the Prison Unit. Because of this relationship with God, They no longer want to go back to their old life of crime, drugs, sin, and things they used to do. So please join me and let's together share the love of God with others, so that God can change lives, save families, and mend broken relationships and keep them from going back to prison.www.freebythetruth.orgPodcast weekly broadcast location:Rockafellas Barber Shop (Owner: Rico Rodriguez)1733 Babcock Rd.  EP 7 | Interview with Linda Canizales | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3258

I am Refocused Podcast Show is brought to you by RefocusedMagazine.com live at Rockafellas Barber Shop every Thursday!Today's guest on I Am Refocused Podcast is Linda Canizales, M.A. Director of External Affairs and Volunteer Relations FVPS Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. The Battered Women and Children’s Shelter The mission of the Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. is to break the cycle of violence and to strengthen families by providing the necessary tools for self-sufficiency through delivery of emergency shelter, transitional housing, education, effective parenting education, and specialized intervention with youth and the elderly. Agency HistoryIn 1977, Ann Whitehead, a local social worker, realized the pervasiveness of domestic violence in San Antonio. She envisioned an environment where victims of abuse could find respite from fear. She enlisted the help of Reverend Don Baugh, Director of the San Antonio Community of Churches, and together with faith, determination, and $400, opened the Battered Women’s Shelter of Bexar County on March 8, 1977. The three-bedroom house on San Antonio’s north side was immediately filled to capacity. Concerned citizens raised money, collected food, clothing, and diapers, and operated the shelter on a day-to-day basis for the first year. As demand for services steadily increased, the shelter moved to a larger, converted church building south of downtown San Antonio, and it remained there for 24 years.By the mid-eighties, comprehensive domestic violence literature had been developed. This increased community awareness of family violence and prompted public funding for domestic violence programs. As women revealed their stories, it was soon realized that the victims’ needs exceeded mere shelter. Many victims had witnessed violence in their homes as children, and statistics pointed to the pattern or cycle of violence. In 1987, the Battered Women’s Shelter of Bexar County initiated a program to break this cycle. The needs of both women and children were identified and programs were established to meet these needs. Services such as transitional housing, non-residential counseling, legal services, medical services, and educational opportunities and support were introduced, to comprehensively help victims of violence move toward real and lasting independence. Over the years, many collaborative relationships with other community organizations were forged to ensure that victims could easily access all needed assistance. The Battered Women’s Shelter of Bexar County became a model for the nation by introducing innovative and wide-ranging programs. For the first time, victims of family violence had real choices. In May 2002, the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter moved into La Paloma De La Paz, a shelter complex which can accomodate 222 people, and includes a school, a medical and dental clinic, and two transitional housing duplexes. La Paloma De La Paz is located on property that includes a complex of residential and supportive services that together provide a cost efficient synergy of services and expanded options and choices for all clients. Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc. operates the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter, along with its location at 7911 Broadway where non-residential services program staff are housed. FVPS has 12 transitional housing single-family dwellings across San Antonio to assist victims of domestic violence in making a new start, and continues to work with community leaders and organizations to build and innovate, with the vision of a San Antonio free of domestic violence.Hear this podcast on Googleplay, TuneinRadio, iTunes, Spreaker, Youtube, and iHeartradioPodcast weekly broadcast location:Rockafellas Barber Shop (Owner: Rico Rodriguez)1733 Babcock Rd.  EP 5 | Interview with Keedren Boston "Are you Plugged in?" | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3913

Muisc artist Keedren Boston from San Antonio, TX live at Rockafellas Barbershop! Are You Plugged in? Listen to this episode and share with friends and family! Bio:Husband, Father of 4 children, Youth Pastor, Educator, actor, comedian and Urban Gospel artist, Keedren Boston, often referred to as “BossTon” began his music career as an R&B singer/rapper but soon laid down the secular mic to pick up the cross. “One day”, Keedren says, “I woke up and realized that I could only remember darkness…It’s hard to see in darkness period, but there’s no darkness like being spiritually blind and that’s what I was.” This marked the beginning of a new and Christ centered life for Keedren. Keedren is definitely known for his “out-of-the-box” ministry amongst the people in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas and various other cities around the state. Keedren has been blessed to minister across the U.S. and out of the country as well. He has shared stages with artists such as Deitrick Haddon, Earnest Pugh, Wes Morgan, Tasha Page Lockhart, Keith Pringle, Lee Williams and various Christian Hip Hop artists. BossTon toured England in 2009 and 2010 ministering through music to the youth and young adults for the "Christ Up Kingdom" UK Tour. He also ministered throughout New Zealand alongside his great friends from the UK. That trip, “Best of Both Worlds Mission & Tour" (2014) included Pastor Greg Husband, Pastor Paul and Jacqueline Davis. Also included on that tour was one of his best friends, (brother-in-Christ) Greg "Puntin" Cooks. His freshman album and single entitled “Not About Me” quickly became his mission statement in his commitment to God and his ministry to the world. With the release of his sophomore album entitled “He Changed Me” Keedren felt led to write about how God has changed and delivered him from the ways of his past, and how God is able to do it again and again for anyone who will believe and accept Christ into their life. Keedren is set to release a new EP entitled "Walk On Water" that hopes to inspire others to step out in faith, put their trust in Jesus and get out of the boat of their comfort zone and do what may seem like the impossible; that is to "Walk On Water". He, along side his wife serve as the Chldrens Pastors at Christian World Worship Center in San Antonio, Texas. Keedren continues to travel and minister from city to city and outreach to outreach spreading the message of change and salvation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is easy to see the transparency and genuine passion that flows naturally through Keedren's gifts. He is truly on a mission to see the souls of men and women saved and to inspire and encourage those who already are saved to keep the faith and continue to trust in the one true and living God.https://www.bostonsworld.org/His Light Project EVENT on October 14, 2017!!!https://www.eventbrite.com/e/his-light-project-tickets-38031021810?aff=efbeventtixSat, October 14, 20175:00 PM – 7:30 PM CDTLocationChristian World Worship Center6633 Walzem RdSan Antonio, TX 78239 Hear this podcast on Googleplay, TuneinRadio, iTunes, Spreaker, Youtube, and iHeartradioPodcast weekly broadcast location:Rockafellas Barber Shop (Owner: Rico Rodriguez)1733 Babcock Rd.
