The Amazing Chris Guenzler with host a Tribute to Richard Hamilton our shows founder.  Richard started the show with CJ and I called in one the first show then was on the second show as a guest. From  old San Diego Club where I first met Richard I developed a friendship with him that lasted until his early death.Richard had his unique handlebar moustache that was his trademark. He will forever be missed! We will be having many people who knew Richard call into the show.

This week, Kansas City Nathan, will be hosting the "Let's Talk Trains Show," with an open forum and including special guest, Ron Graham, the president of the Central Iowa Railroad Club who will join us in the second half of the show to disucss their current event at the Iowa State Fair for the 30th consecutive year. We will also be discussing Nathan's current model railroad project of LaPlata, and it's progress! Be sure to call in and join in the conversation.

The Amazing Chris Guenzler will be talking with Steve Sandburg of the Milwaukee Road 261. We will talk about the history of the Milwaukee Road 261 then how Steve and his family got envolved with the engine . After that we will talk about all the excursions the 261 had run . We will discuss how the engine is coming, future excursions and more.  We will also learn about Steve's work with the Iowa Interstate QJ. A very interesting show which you will enjoy.

Skip Waters will host the Let's Talk Trains show this week.  He will be talking about the general safety issues surrounding railroad crossings.  Why do people get hit crossing them?  Are they safe?  How can you cross the tracks without getting hit yourself?  He will invite callers to share what they think, what they have seen and what should be done about them.  A train hits someone in America every 115 minutes.  Are we taking too many chances crossing the railroad tracks or is there a better way to get to the other side?  Call in and let Skip know.  Plus we will have our usual callers and friends join the show.. it should be fun. Be sure to join us as Kansas City Nathan will be hosting this week's Let's Talk Trains Show! We will be live at Train Festival 2011, in Rock Island, Ill. Most of the regular host team is in Rock Island, for the event, including Bob & Elizabeth, the Amazing Chris Guenzler, and Phoamer Gene are also in Rock Island for the event. Bob, Elizabeth, and Chris will be riding the Iowa City Steam Adventure, which will be an all-day excursion behind Iowa Interstate OJ Steam Locomotive #6988 during the show, and they will be checking in. We will also be checking in with some of the other things going on at Train Festival 2011, including interviews and possibly some special guests. Be sure to join us, as we will be having a lot of fun! ALL ABOARD!!!

 The Amazing Chris Guenzler live from the  Pullman Suite at the Depot Inn & Suites in La Plata for this weeks show. We were supposed to be all at the Chris Guenzler Million Mile Lookout Point but Amtrak had other ideas. KC Nathan and Gene were supposed to have arrive here at 9:58 PM but the Southwest Chief ended up being over 4.5hours late. So the Amazing Chris had to do the show from a nice cool Pullman Suite on a hot day outside.

Jason returns this week to talk with the Amazing Chris Guenzler about Train Festival 2011. We will hear about his planning for this event in Rock Island  he is working on, Jason put on the events in Owosso, Michigan and Petersburg, West Virgina and both of those event were excellent. We will discuss those events plus talk about the Rock Island event. You will learn plenty from this show and what it takes to put on an event like this

The Amazing Chris Guenzler will talk about his whole NRHS Tacoma 2011 Convention plus other trips he has made. This trip started by fly in Portland and a rental car. Sumpter Valley RR, Washington State RR Museum collection, Yakima Trolley and the Northern Pacific RR Museum were visited. SP 4449 Portland to Tacoma started the converntion then a trip to Northwest Railway Museum and train ride. Bob, Elizabeth and Chris then went to the Cascade Tunnel then up into Canada to the Burnaby Central RR then back to the convention for the SP 4449 trip over Stampede Pass and then the SP 4449 return to Portland then a visit to the Oregon Electric Railway Museum. After a rocky start the Amazing Chris Guenzler talks about his recent train trips 4/7/2010 to 6/6/2011. He starts off with the Santa Fe 3751 to and from San Bernardino Railroad Days, the Adirondack Rare Mileage Trips, the Little Rock Express Kansas City to Jefferson City and Northern California 2011 Explorer trips.He did other trips he will also include in this show. Chris really covered alot of ground on these trips and enjoyed them all. Join us for this unique show.
