iFanboy.com Comic Book Podcast
Summary: The iFanboy.com Comic Books Podcast is a weekly talk show discussing the best in current comic book releases. Ron, Conor and Josh will share what they loved and hated about the week's comics. With a deep, sometimes scary knowledge of the depths and intricacies of pop culture and the geek lifestyle, the conversations can spin off in many directions. While comics, graphic novels and trade paperbacks are the center of the iFanboy universe, the discussion often covers the video games, movies and TV shows which will capture the fancy of your regular comic book reader. Fun, intelligent, witty and entertaining, the iFanboy crew are just as likely to agree as argue about what's good and what's bad in superhero comics, indie comics, humorous comics, and important graphic novels as well as the creators, writers and artists behind them. We've even occasionally been in the same room as guys like Brian Michael Bendis, Kurt Busiek, Warren Ellis, Jim Lee, Joe Quesada, Steve Dillon, Kevin Smith, Stan Lee and others. It was a big room, but we were in it. This podcast is so good, you don't even need to read comics to enjoy it, but it's a lot better if you do.

Thanks the iFanboy Patrons...Talksplode is back on a monthly release schedule! And we couldn’t be happier to kick things off with the creative team of Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman. Longtime collaborators in both life and comics, Bechko and Hardman moved into creator owned success with their sci-fi/political epic Invisible Republic. Josh Flanagan chats with them about working on licensed properties, their own original works and of course...pets.
With Conor still in search of the one-armed man, Ron calls in from an undisclosed location to join Josh for a discussion of the nuances of “I got this” along with talking about a selection of comics from the week. Plus Josh conflates the names of comic book creators, poorly. We don’t mention the ambient temperatures right at the end.
With one of the most anticipated superhero movies of the year upon us, and the next chapter in the DC Universe, Conor Kilpatrick mysteriously disappears leaving Ron Richards and Mike Romo to try and make some sense of this...film. Lots of hope and wishes that Harley Quinn, Will Smith and a little bit of Batman Affleck will produce a fun time at the movies. Does it deliver? Listen and find out!
Conor’s on the run, so Josh and Ron are here to talk about old New York, demons, racism and a little Ned Beatty. This episode has a little bit for everyone!
Ron is away trying to recapture his youth, which he recently sold. So 2 jamokes, Conor and Josh, fight on. You should also prepare yourself for talk of a bridge, and love. Of love and bridges. There’s a lot of that. Other than that, there’s a lot of great comics, and obviously discussion of why that is. It’s kind of what we do. Also ratings. Plus our very first Patron’s choice comic addition.
It’s the third installment in the re-imagined Star Trek Lens Flareverse — Star Trek Beyond! Conor Kilpatrick and Ron Richards are joined by super-Trekkie Mike Romo to find out if the bad taste of Star Trek Into Darkness has been washed away by the latest effort, directed by The Fast and the Furious vet Justin Lin. Were Mike and Conor swayed by attending the world premiere at Comic-Con? Will Ron murder them in a jealous rage? And just how much time can be spent discussing the positioning of nacelles? Also, a lok tothe fourth installment and Star Trek: Discovery! Running Time: 00:48:20 Music: “Labor of Love” Michael Giacchino
In a rare event, we're coming to LIVE from the San Diego Comic-Con 2016! Well..that may not be entirely true. But Conor Kilpatrick is our man on the street bringing the latest comics news to the masses, while Ron Richards sits idly by at home seething with jealousy (not really.) And where is Josh Flanagan? Two words: Pokemon Go.
Summertime means a lot of traveling and lost of hosts missing shows–but not this week. This week, iFanboy is reunited and it feels so good. Conor Kilpatrick, Ron Richards, and Josh Flanagan talk about the week that was in comic books, the weeks to come in comic books, plus–it’s the return of ratings (ratings)!
All by his lonesome for only the second time in iFanboy history, Josh Flanagan fills airtime. And it makes him thirsty. He also recorded into his laptop mic instead of the much nicer sounding mic he was physically speaking into the entire time. And yet, you will be entertained, dare we say charmed? There’s some aimfulness to this rambling, and a more distilled version of the comic book talking you have come to expect. Mostly.
It’s a another one of those pesky fifth weeks, which means there aren’t a whole lot of comics to talk about this week (and again, no DC Rebirth books means no ratings), but even in a light week there are gems to be found, and Conor Kilpatrick, Josh Flanagan, and Ron Richards are just the guys to find them! But if you need three guys to keep the title and details of Jupiter’s Circle and Jupiter’s Legacy straight, these are not your guys.
Ratings...ratings...wait a minute...no ratings? What the hell? This is BS. Oh well, I guess Josh and Ron and Conor will talk about comics like they always do. But did Superman catch his train?!?!
Ratings (ratings) continue with another DC Rebirth book. Is that right? Just one? Okay. Meanwhile, Conor Kilpatrick and Ron Richards talk about comics in a segregated way. We got this!
Ratings (ratings) continue as we tackle more DC Rebirth books. But first, we have to deal with some beautiful wacky wildlife insanity. There’s some good Chaykin, there’s some long term thought, and there’s still a stupid glowing spider logo.
“More work?” “That’s right! We’re back with another iFanboy Special Edition Podcast!” “What is it?” “It’s a film based on the wildly popular video game franchise from Blizzard, Warcraft.” “Right-o. More work?” “Well, Conor Kilpatrick, Ron Richards and special guest Mike Romo wouldn’t call it work, exactly. It’s fun to–” “No one else available…” “Now, wait a minute.” “Okay.” “Don’t be mean. Are you going to listen?” “All right.”
