Finding a safe place inside your mind to relax and unwind is one of the core practices needed to overcome anxiety, depression, shame, anger, and feelings of not being "good enough." Most people who have done a lot of guided meditations have experienced some form of a "safe place" meditation before. This one also incorporates a "deepening" meditation technique. Once you learn how to get to deeper levels in your meditative trance tapping into that calm place even while doing your normal day to day thing becomes much more effortless. Many people find a sound meditation practice one of the most deeply calming and relaxing of all meditation techniques. It's also great for developing a stronger focus but in an "allowing" way. It may be best to download this week's meditation so you can practice it somewhere other than on a bus, or subway ride home as it requires you make a sound out loud.
